Would like to learn more about General Electric locomotives since they seem to have the better locomotives.

For 6K HP, why didn't they make a v24 "EMD 24N-710G3A" for SD89MAC (5700 HP) and an "EMD 24N-710G3B" for SD90MAC (6000 HP) ??
they should of called it the NS SD9043ACE
