I wish they actually completed the whole show with the rest of season 6, 7, and 8 (full CW seasons were supposed to have arround 22 episodes so there are about ~40 episodes we will never see)
when you were listing the weirdest concepts that made their way into star wars I kept thinking about how Jar Jar got laid and Mace Windu just had to deal with it in S6.
Great thoughts and insights as always. My favourite episodes would be everything with Maul, Yoda, Umbara, Fives & domino squad generally, Cad Bane, Zygerria, Mortis, Obi Wan undercover, Banking Clan arc with Clovis, and Ahsoka leaving the Jedi order. I also love much of the legacy Clone Wars stuff that had to be adapted, especially Son of Dathomir because it’s badass with big fights like Maul vs Grevious and truly big bad guys like Darth Sidious in action. Also Crystal Crisis on Utupau has some great writing and voice acting, and the Dark Disciple novel about Ventress and Quinlan seems fun and interesting. Much of my favourite stuff seems to be by Katie Lucas, who contributed to some of the most popular clone wars arcs. There’s loads of fun legacy stuff I’ve heard they were planning before cw got cancelled, like meeting the Yuzang Vong and Ahsoka defending the bowels of the Jedi Temple and the hidden Sith Temple from an incorporeal Darth Sidious who was trying to get through somehow via a portal. Many of these ideas clearly went on to end up being adapted in Rebels or in some other form. I think George spent too much money on making Clone Wars a great tv show and exactly what he wanted, and it couldn’t be financially justified to continue running it when Disney bought the company. They could have moved it to their own network or toned down the violence if they really wanted to, and I speculate the cost is the most likely reason for its cancellation imo. P.S. I love the Clone Wars, hence the rambling essay in the comments!
I liked the droids episodes for what they are. A wired journey through the galaxy. They weren't that good as the droid episodes from season 4, but Way better than the one from season 3 where Ban kidnaps R2 and 3PO. I prefer all these episodes above Book of Boba and Kenobi. Because for me both shows feel disjointed not only to their main character but to star wars at a whole.
honestly, it's my favorite droid-focused episode and I understand why he likes it so much, each episode has a different vibe and you can feel the attrition of the mission as each uses their specialized mod and ends up dead. Half of the show is "skippable" and "filler" because it is meant to be a day-by-day showing of the war, the world, and the people. It is supposed to make you love or find out something new about different parts of the universe or characters. There are plenty of episodes based around different battles that don't play into the larger narrative and are easily skippable but you'd miss a great contained story of underdog droids, clones betrayed by their Jedi, or a padawan who is both full of herself and totally unsure of themself and doesn't play into the larger story but its more time spent with someone just seeing how they react to everyday war life
George Lucas is best when he has filters. He's a spectacular idea guy, but he needs people to separate the wheat from the chaff with his ideas. The lore for the prequels, (minus midiclorians) was spectacular, but there was a lot of not so great things that went into the prequels. No one had the guts to tell him no.
i laugh whenever anyone credits goerge as some "awesome storyteller". anything the man has made that turned out good was saved by other people. the moment geoge was given free reign (the prequels), it was riddled with flaws. George's best works were collaborating where he had a shorter leash. that's why he sold star wars. he knew there was nothing left he could contribute. he had come to face the facts that star wars' success was in spite of him, not because of him.

Season 5 didn't have 22 episodes aswell it has 20
@@eizelbachmid5412 they removed the clovis arc from season 5 and put it in the netflix season
@@sheev2829 Why?
@@eizelbachmid5412 Not enough space with the Season mostly focusing on Ahsoka and because the Clovis arc was pushing it in regards to subject matter.

Haha, true, The Clone Wars was wild
You're always so well-spoken! Love your analysis, every time!

Love this video, but that arc is so good, i love it.
I LOVE THAT ARC

Gregor isn’t from republic commando
Right, he's just a republic commando, not one of *the* republic commandos. My bad there, I actually haven't played the game myself yet!
@@DeepDiveAnalysis you really should play it, it’s a really good game
@@Kyletheanimator Yeah, I've heard awesome things about it, I definitely need to play it sometime
S7 is the best season of the whole show
6:16 I skipped all of them because those episodes were too boring for me

The weakest of all the movies. Pure junk
Umbara says hi.
