@@turboimport95it’s a lot less work than you’d think… it just drops right in. H6 Subarus aren’t very common in Hawaii. I was lucky to find the one I did. If I found a 3.6 sure, I’d drop one in… If I really wanted a 3.6 I’d have to ship one in which is very expensive in Hawaii. 3.6 has less off the shelf parts. I’d need custom parts which means more cost and more waiting. 3.6 has much thinner cylinder wall liners where it is already very thin in the 3.0. The 3.0 is plenty fun. This is a pretty low budget build and I’ve already spent too much 😂
@@80805sti Tribeca's have the 3.6 i think. but if its super low budget considering you have to change the ecu etc to run a h6, would of been better off turboing the stock motor. swapping a bigger engine is never low budget, a lot of things will add up over time.
@@turboimport95thanks, yeah the newer tribecas have them. I found my 06 Tribeca for $500. Used the stock ecu and for a while and it was all my own labor and I didn’t buy anything else since it I had the whole car. At this point it was a budget build. I see your point though, is it ever really a budget build? The plan was to keep it high compression low boost turbo. So we were thinking alike here.. Later I found that the engine actually had blown head gasket as it would over heat on longer drives… So after taking apart the engine, I found one thing after another and ended up doing lot of unexpected “while you’re in there” upgrades and repairs. I’m pretty close to finishing this but are our projects really ever finished?😅
keep up the amazing work. im curently doing a turbo ez30 swap on my bugeye
@@TheEaglePaintball that’s awesome! Hopefully you can upload a sound clip when it’s running! I want to hear more h6 swaps!
why not go ez36? its a lot of work to go 6 cylinder, might as well go the bigger size.

Not the best, but it will work. Those things are pretty tolerant.
