Yep, I noticed that as well when I used the custard solely on my hair. But it’s a bit less than the residue the “curling cream” leaves in your hair. One thing I do to help with minimizing the probability of my hair drying with a lot of residue is - I take a dry towel and scrunch my hair after applying the styling product. One thing to bear in mind though is that the porosity of your hair may play as a factor to how ones hair absorbs products. For me - my hair is low porosity - my hair cuticles are tight, so it does not easily absorb products. Hi I just watched /your video - my hair is similarto your texture- I also have used cantu products- here is a suggestion- I use cantu moisturizing curl activator prior to applying define and shine custard with great results
Yes it works perfect I just started my natural hair journey For the third time. 😩 but yes very good product I used the activator with grape-seed then I go in with my define and shine custard
Hello Amala I m watching all your hair vlogs they are very inspirational , interesting, and enjoyable to watch. Natural is challenging to take care of . I m so happy you took this step😁😁😁👍🏾
I’m going to be uploading an updated version of minimizing the outcome of product residue in your hair, the previous video I had up was not the as effective. I’ll share the link once I have it up.
Girl you using all my products except the custard...and we have the same hair type too....love coconut oil ,and the Cantu coconut curling cream... Would try your process
I use cantu but the leave in did not do good for my hair but I am going to try again only used one time..i no everything is not good for everyone..thanks sis
You got it right at not everything works for everyone! A lot of factors play into this - like your hair porosity etc- but try it again and let me know how it goes. Observe how your hair responds to it.
My 5 yr old daughter has 4c hair & gets dry. Which Cantu product would be suitable for her? I already have the Cantu define & shine custard but is it ok for her?
Yep - Low porosity was definitely one of the factors that influenced the outcome. It’s important to have this in mind when choosing styling products. Certain Styling products may not work for Low porosity hair. I’ve observed over time that cream based products don’t work well my hair.
Interesting perspective; I wouldn’t have associated coconut oil as heavy but I can understand that when all the products are factored in; it could be considered heavy in this context.
I just let it air dry most of the time, but if I’m in a hurry to go out, I use a blow dryer to quicken the process ( be cautious of the setting you use for the blow dryer as I’ve observed that when I use the hot setting - I experience more shrinkage) You can try alternating between the cool and hot setting of the blow dryer and attach a hair diffuser to the the blow dryer so you can control the direction of the air (and also minimize frizz)
Hi, I do have videos up on my channel of other products I use or did you mean other products from the same line “CANTU” ? Or is there a specific product you want me to review?
I didn’t observe that it did- and this could be because of my maintenance routine during the week. I usually spritz my hair with a water and glycerin mixture (from time to time during the week) to help with keeping moisture in my hair. I do this normally during winter and that’s when I had used the product. So this would have not given me the chance to observe if the custard dries out my hair, but I’ll definitely keep this in mind the next time I use the product.
M k then what I must have missed was the curling custard cause i had your exact same problem but yea honestly I suggest it best to use a lot less of that curling cream T.T
People can use the same product but will have a different result just because they don't have the same hair type or curl pattern For example Cantu on 4a and 4c is not the same
Bro fr.... I got mostly 4a and sun 4c and cantu don’t do anything for my hair. My hair literally just stays white and it’s worse when I put gel in my hair. So I been stickin with shea products
To whoever this may help God so loved the world that He gave up His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life-john3:16 repentance is key and also reading the Bible ❤️
The amount of product one chooses to use differs based on a number of factors - one of which is the density of hair. A person with more hair density may use more product than someone else with less hair density. So the amount of product to use is subject to the composition of the individual’s hair.
The custard leaves residue too.
It's in my hair now

Love cantu

I love your hair colour. It's almost the same shade as mine.
Wow looks great. I will look for this oil

To reduce flakes I use olive oil sheen spray
Do you use it after you’ve applied the styling product or before?
@@AmalaRose probably after

Doing your hair in twists with the product could define curls better if left overnight. Looking good though.
Yes I agree
Ur voice😍😍😍
Swear she would be awesome reading for audible books

I found this Cantu product flaking and leaving a white residue on my hair.
Yes, it can do that.
Maybe because of low porosity hair.
Stay, beautiful and positive.🌹

I think the coconut oil killed the curl probably too heavy

Cantu has alcohol so it dries the hair. My suggestion is to use design essentials they have great products :)
I’ll definitely check design essentials out, thanks for the recommendation! 👍🏽
Weirdly the curling cream doesn’t dry out my hair.
@@Alexia-co1jg same it literally takes for ever just to dry but they have grease I put in and moisturizer so
For some reason it doesn't dry my hair out. My hair retains length with the daily leave in.
depends on the type of alcohol. not all alcohol is drying
Thank you for this video. Really interesting. Please how do you dry the hair after shaking it??

@@p4illino Yes Cantu doesn't have silicone or sulphate so it would not agree with all hair types....it may depend on the porosity of your hair

Use less Cantu, doesnt take much per section
