    As a 13 year old girl, I am so happy I came across this video.
    I have or had trouble seeing my self-worth, and seeing the beauty of my hair.
    My hair is short, the front part of my hair goes down to my eye, the sides of my hair goes down to my ears, and the back barely surpasses my neck.
    I’ve disliked when people compared my hair to others. I also have 4c hair, I have also disliked my shrinkage.
    After reading your Sudani Diaries ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Loving Your Natural Hair’ I noticed that the things I disliked about myself wasn’t nice to think of.
    I’m going to learn how to love the things I disliked about myself.
    Thank you so much, keep up the good work, and I am looking forward to seeing your next video’s. Bye💕!

    Also i believe a lot kf type 4 girls struggle because they dont detangle often. I detangle with hands 2 times a week and with a brush once a week. If other hair types went months without detangling their hair (even those wjth straight hair) will struggle to detangle their hair. 4c hair is not difficult to manage at all. It's just neglected and given bad image.

    • @yarsudani
      @yarsudani  Год назад +371

      this exactly. straight/loose hair types brush their hair almost everyday, but most tight curly types go weeks/months before brushing and that’s what makes things so hard. they don’t realize their hair is locing/matting. washing 1-2 times a week is great!

    • @LethalLemonLime
      @LethalLemonLime Год назад +149

      there's also this weird obsession with type 4 girlies and shredding. If you're shedding 100 strands a day and haven't washed your hair for 3 weeks, that's 2,100 strands trapped in your head but for some reason people want to see the tiniest hairball.

    • @yveje9720
      @yveje9720 Год назад +41

      This! I just started using the tangle teezer its a life saver. My hair is 4c medium strands and I have a lot of of it, so I only detangle on wash days about once a week. I agree its easier if you do it frequently when I wear box braids for a month detangling is always much harder. It’s not something I do often but I notice a big difference in the time it takes and the amount of shed hair I lose

      yep, I get complimates of how fluffy and soft looking my hair looks and I have short 4C hair (7in), because I had to shave my hair off completely ayear ago because of how damage it was from all the tight styles,wigs, and lack of moisture (my hair line was literally receding and I lost my edges)
      mousturizing and properly detangling your hair is key, after that its so easy it takes me 5-30 min to do my hair depending on the style, and my hair as grown so much

  • @Iheartpie1234
    @Iheartpie1234 Год назад +134

    I agree I usually wash once a week and my hair never dries out. That’s what makes it more manageable vs starting on dry matted hair. Don’t even let it get to that point. One time I washed my hair after 5 days recently and my hair was so soft and I detangled so fast my husband was surprised. My hair was happy and soft vs when I would go 2-4 weeks.

    • @AZIN-m6l
      @AZIN-m6l 2 месяца назад +3

      Yes!!! Washing once a week should start being considered the bare minimum not maximum. It’s so beneficial for us especially! We have the hair type that has the highest probability of becoming the dry, why do we deprive it of water?

    Awesome video . I loved the way you took time to really break down the method to our 4C hair. You were very thorough and concise in every stage on how to wash and moisturize our hair. This is the first time I have had a relationship with my natural hair. It took me 3 years to get my natural hair back into course. My mother believed in relaxing our hair. Straight hair, was a way to fit in or perhaps be accepted by other societies. I am growing a new relationship with my hair. Thanks for giving me some pointers. ❤❤❤

    Now this is real 4C hair. Finally , the truth. Your hair looks exactly like mine. It is really hard to get our hair wet to shampoo. And it takes forever to dry. And the shrinkage it truly real.

      Low porosity is a sign of healthy hair. Hair is hydrophobic in a healthy state and damaged hair is porous so even though it can be difficult sometimes know that it’s a sign of your hair being health.

    I don't use as much product as I did before when I was transitioning. It takes me a while to detangle my hair, but I can get it detangled easily from starting at the ends and working to the roots. Fortunately, it went from being high porosity to low porosity, so my hair doesn't dry as much as it did before.
    I still need tips on how to maintain it 'cause there's still so much I don't know. I was also in denial of what my hair type was since I was in the middle of transitioning (thinking it was 4b but it looks closer to 4c, oops 🤦🏾‍♀). Love the video so much now that I know what to do with my hair!

I had a relaxer most of my life and didn't know what my natural hair was like. I have been natural for a while. I wore locs 4 six years. I combed them out 2 years ago. I am determined to learn to care for my beautiful hair properly. Thank you. 😊

    Loved the reference to Mystique! I tried using a scalp massager in circular motions when I was growing out a relaxer, and it tangled my hair so bad that I thought I might have to cut it all off. I can use a brushing or combing motion in one direction or, if I am pulling my hair, back and forth in one direction. But, circles are a definite no no for me. Also, I had to comb it after it was sectioned, corn-rolled and dried for several years. But, I’ve recently discovered the tangle teaser as a shower brush. So, I guess my point is, you may have to be gentler on your hair if you are transitioning or just have fine hair.
