  • Hi all, here's a Lexus LS430 Android Head unit we installed earlier this week, this is a great system for the car, offering you a plethora of features you'd expect from an Android OS head unit.
This system has an OS, meaning you can download applications directly onto the unit's storage space, allowing you to install your choice of maps, music and more onto the system.
It's also got built-in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to quickly pair your phone to the system, for increased communication between your phone and the system.

This look like a great upgrade can I purchase this in the US?

    • @iceboxauto

Yes, absolutely, we can ship these worldwide, I don't believe there's any difference if this is installed into a LHD or RHD version of the car, so it should be a-ok for your car

I'm in London - I see you have a fitter/branch in Watford? - My car is a 2002 LS430 - what would you recommend? Is it a sameday fit?

Sound Gurus in Watford, I would recommend this system, the years are more like boundaries, so pop a picture of your car's current dash over and we can ensure it will work, it is a same day install yes

Does that Android Unit use the GPS antenna that was previously connected to the OEM display? Or are you using a different method for GPS capabilities? Where is the GPS cable connected to if used.

It has it's own GPS antenna that is plugged into the system, it doesn't use the original antenna for the GPS

@@iceboxauto Thank you for your response. I have a unit similar to yours. My Lexus LS 430 originally had Navigation/GPS. But with this new Android unit that was installed, I am not getting a GPS signal. I now have to take it back to the installer to find out if he installed the GPS antenna that came with the new unit, or did he connect the original GPS antenna to the new unit? Or forgot to connect the GPS wire in the 1st place?
I dont think he ran any tests to make sure everything was working before turning the car over to me. I had to figure out things on my own that were wrong. Another issue is Im getting noise or feedback when playing CD's. Almost like it's coming from a radio or satellite signal.
I had to take the car back for something else. The installer neglected to connect the audio cables for my original CD player. I saw the CD player was working, but no sound. The installer told me that some things may not be compatible with the unit. But he never thought about the fact that he neglected to connect the audio cables. That solved the problem of why I wasnt getting any sound from the CD changer.

Without testing the unit after it's been installed it's no wonder something as normal as the CD player not getting sound wouldn't be spotted, also if he has installed the GPS antenna just make sure it's not placed under any metal, that may also block the signal

@iceboxauto well guess what? This installer had goofed again. The reason I had no GPS signal is because he claims he connected the GPS cable incorrectly to the HU. Quite frankly I am not sure if he was telling the truth. But whatever he did got the GPS signal working correctly. Its been a nightmare with this installer from the beginning. He told me that my HU had Android 13. But when I checked the specs in settings its only Android 10. He gave me a lame excuse, saying Android 13 wasnt compatible, so he had to upload what would work with my 20 yr old Lexus. I didnt believe any of that. I suspect he installed a cheaper unit. Figuring I wouldnt know the difference. But I also heard that these HUs dont always come with the specs it says on the box it comes in. Im still not sure he got the right unit and harness for my model Lexus. The ultra luxury model. But most of what I would use the HU for is a massive upgrade. FYI. connecting the GPS cable correctly solved a problem I had with hearing a lot of noise or distortion when playing cds or music through BT.

It happens a lot in the industry, a lot of units out there will have incorrect specs or will mislead, the main ones that usually do this are systems where they state they've got a 4/64GB RAM/ROM, but the unit itself if only like £150, this usually means to me that the manufacturer has skimped out on the processor, and it's more than likely a 4-core unit, in the description for the item, if it's just one long picture, or doesn't give you a table with the spec in, avoid it like the plague. If the guy sourced the unit for you and installed it, he really should've known the spec of it, unless he was also either misled or misled you, either-way it's still not great

    • @iceboxauto

Yes, we supply and install them, it would be £130 to install this system into your car, plus the system price
