Good to see new supermarkets in the surrounding areas. It will encourage more businesses to open up all around and hopefully bring prices down because of the competition. I am so excited for the future of Montego Bay.
We also need a larger range of furniture and clothing shops. I would love to be able to buy certain things in Jamaica and bring or send it from the UK.

I am 100% sure this business is a Chinese effort. Black Jamaicans sit back and complain about the Chinese "Taking over" . We are doing absolutely nothing to own businesses, or anything of importance in Jamaica. The Chinese are doing big things in Jamaica, to make Jamaica a better place. We should welcome the Chinese, because they are not murdering Jamaicans. They are helping Jamaicans in so many ways whilst helping themselves, welcome Chinese.
Chinese is all about family and creating generational wealth. If we as Jamaicans can come together and create opportunities like this, we would be a better nation.
@johnrucumbine. What about you opening a supermarket and becoming the exception to the rule? The "powers that be" view the infrastructure people more favourably and give them tax breaks, making it difficult for locals to compete. These places are awash with fake goods, but greasing the palm means .........Put on your thinking cap, who owns the wharf and what are the implications of this?
@@anngore3842 Absolute nonsense. There are ways around all that you have said. Black people only see obstacles, but believe me, there are openings, if there are obstacles. @@BrownBossJaTours You are absolutely right. Downtown Kingston has been prime, for development, for a very long time, and our athletes, Dancehall Artists and others who have being talking about how rich they are, do nothing about the opportunity that is there Downtown.
The question was asked, who are the owners, I personally think that it shouldn't imatter. If Person's have their money to invest , go ahead😂. Chinese Indians black white poor or billionairs. Bravo to Jamaica and the economy.
So many people talking about this is a good look. This is a big old chiney shop. Prime location where we could have had a PriceSmart or something for family fun like a bowling alley. Maybe a Bert's Auto Parts, you have mega Mart right around the corner from this then Progressive around the next corner. Consumer Meat Plus on Barnett Street and multiple Chinese supermarkets along the way. Another Supermarket was not needed here on this prime location. No Krispy Kreme in Montego Bay no TGI Fridays and so many other restaurants that are in Kingston but not Mobay. I have never seen a Grace truck, Eve or Lasco Distributors dropping off goods at any of these Chinese supermarkets. None of our Jamaican or Caribbean brands; they supply to themselves.
Krispy Kreme really? What's nutritious about Krispy Kreme. Not everyone can handle Progressive or Mega Mart's prices. If the prices are better, it is welcome. Not everyone can handle the congestion on Barnett Street as well. If those other ventures you mentioned wanted this location, they should have gone for it.
While we welcome all investments in Jamaica, I am particularly concerned about the visible lack of investment by black Jamaican investors! All these black entertainers, sports players, traders and just regular citizens with investable wealth why aren’t they investing in their country? Jamaica is open for business to all who want to participate, how come people from half way around the world see opportunities but not the locals? We can’t keep saying people are talking over Jamaica then sit idly by with our arms folded. More of us need to become business leaders and not just consumers!😮😮😢
Black Jamaicans only love saying their Jamaican they don’t care about investing in the country, they would must rather run weh guh a foreign and say nothing nah gwarn a Jamaica but dislike it when other people invest and profit off Jamaica!!
It’s good when businesses open up in areas to make it more convenient for patrons. Without having to name particular race of people who do this…I think you can figure it out 😒

@@BrownBossJaTours When certain things were scarce, say for example Rice, you had to buy another product like Sugar or Flour to get the Rice. It is based on the location and it is convenient too because you can go straight downtown or you can go to Bogue or you can go to Fairfield or you can go to Westgate from that exit. It seems like they are building more space for parking at the back.
