***** you went full banana bro...never go full banana ever again please. When you sample a part of a song you don't have to "ft" them you just have to pay royalties unless the song is public domain which you don't even have to pay to use at all. The guitar could be sampled and looped or could be covered, in Dj mustards "Show me something" he sampled the synth but instead of looping it he played it because he says he has to pay less royalties that way.
It's a fucboi anthem, were you expecting Shakespeare? They're quite horrible, but this was the background music to 80% of the finger blastings of the early 00s. The smell of patchouli, and lost virginity is said to be impregnated into cover of the original album.
Right here ..... when this song came out this girl I worked with told me she thought about me every time she heard it .... I respected her dgaf approach lol now I always think of HER when I listen to this . ❤😎
@@dedr4mit’s because of social media. People began to treat each other as disposable. Nobody has any room or patience for someone who doesn’t believe or support everything they do. No compromise.
Funny good old days homie, when people knew to get out of the house and actually do productive/funny stuff, not staying all day long in the "gaming chair" and fap on gamer girls photos.
Indeed, similar is Piper Rockelle - Butterflies which does not even start "singing" to two minutes in ... such is 2022. Finally found it though, not disappointed.
Fun Fact : The catchy distinctive guitar riff you hear throughout was written by the one and only, Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist John Frusciante. The Song is called "Pretty Little Ditty". Makes me happy they sampled a JF tune ❤️
I remember being a child and hearing this on the radio, instantly fell in love with it but never knew what it was called. I heard it at the gym today and it instantly hit me to where I stopped my workout so I could listen to the lyrics and look it up. So happy I found it.
For...what? It's not like they stole that part of the song and claimed it as theirs, they legitimately sampled it. And don't be a hater because we all know that this is one of the best bad songs on Earth.
UltraRockSounds They're sampling part of the instrumental 'Pretty Little Ditty' from the 1989 RHCP album Mother's Milk. Give that a listen, it's a great track. :D
AshtimusPrime Thanks, just heard it. Really great tune. It didn't make sense to me that a cliche band with crappy lyrics could create at the same time such a beautiful sound. Frusciante on the other hand is an artistic type, makes sense now..
I like how back in the 90's white guys represented that alternative rock look so much. Even when they rap. The painted finger nails the chain chokers. I remember seeing this on MTV before I walked out the door to go to my high school home room class such memories. Man I miss being a teen in the 90's
Christopher Regan And look like them lol. I remember I use to wear big black oversized baggy cargo pants with a waist chain and choker chain. I was alt Rocked out in my high school days. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dundee this tells me how much of a fool you are. The early 2000s are still like the 90's because no decade changes on the dime. When it started getting down to like 2005 and the mid 2000's then u start to see Change in music. So yes 2000' 2001 and 2003 was very much still like 96 97 98 and 99. BANG BOOOM I JUST LEFT THE ROOM 👋🏾 🎤😎
lonewolf261000 You're the absolute fool here 😂😂😂 Yes the popular music changed in a dime because the Y2K/Change of the Millenium was a big deal back then. So popular music changed from the funky sounds of the mid-to-late 90s (see This is How We Do, California Love, Fantasy, Waterfalls, Mmmbop, Get Jiggy With It, Real Close, ...) to more modern and bubblegum Pop (see Genie in a Bottle, Heartbreaker, Music, Unpretty, Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Bye Bye Bye). And this was backlashed again in 2001-2003 when music got urbanized (Always There On Time, I'm Real, Family Affair, Crazy in Love, Stand Up), and more gritty (Hot in Herre, Dirrty, Slave 4 U, Milkshake, Get Busy). Conclusion: Music in 2001-2003 absolutely doesn't sound to what was popular in 1995-1998 (compare for yourself 😉).
Wish I remembered which song I ever downloaded. I think it something by the Vengaboys, Alice Deejay, ATB, or Eiffel 65. If the song reached downloading til the end, it felt like victory.
It's crazy you can even get away with stealing the exact riffs haha, I love how the first lines "pretty little thing" when the song Frusciante and Flea did it in was "pretty little ditty"
I always felt like "the real 90s" ended like in 93 or 94, or like it was two decades in one, 1990 to 1994 felt very different than 95 to 99, music, trends, clothes, tv, everything was different.
Out of nowhere, Spotify put it in my playing queue. What a good surprise. I didn't even remember this. And I felt the same, this is a timeless masterpiece.
Yeah, this song is very sexy. The hot brunette in the video is the lead singer's girlfriend from back then. They're not together anymore. She's a natural for the video and song. Dude had a serious drug problem he was struggling with that killed it..
@@rvegas81 Two things that killed this band's career: (1) Drugs and substance abuse. Lead singer had some issues, and was volatile. (2) Somebody thought it was a great idea to put this band on Ozzfest. They performed with those Dare To Resist Drugs & Violence tee shirts (D.A.R.E.) ...they got booed off the stage and eventually had to drop off Ozzfest. Nobody at Ozzfest wants to see that D.A.R.E. crap. I'm against drugs and violence myself. But when I go to a show, I don't want subliminal preaching directed at me. Ozzfest definitely not the place to pull that crap. They got their heads and their careers handed back to them. Not trying to be disrespectful to Crazytown or anyone else ...these are the material facts. That's all.
Age is just a number. I was 27 in 2001, I dont feel much older now. As Geri Halliwell said at a press conference when she met Nelson Mandela, "your as old as the girl your feeling, and I'm 25". ruclips.net/video/L-7OB1Ykzy8/видео.html

The tune to this song is really good, wish I could say the same about the lyrics. -_-
I remember when that song first came out, lol.
Yeah they ripped the tune off Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Ruby Chen
it's called sampling...it's not like the robbed it or tried to act like it was theirs
*****
you went full banana bro...never go full banana ever again please.
When you sample a part of a song you don't have to "ft" them you just have to pay royalties unless the song is public domain which you don't even have to pay to use at all. The guitar could be sampled and looped or could be covered, in Dj mustards "Show me something" he sampled the synth but instead of looping it he played it because he says he has to pay less royalties that way.
go on then, tits are tits after all
This record made my babies xxxx thankyou
It just goes to show. It doesn't matter how stupid the lyrics are, if the riff slaps it'll be a hit.
Thanks to rhcp
XD that song was irrelevant til crazy town sampled lmao you mad af @@jessd423
It's a fucboi anthem, were you expecting Shakespeare? They're quite horrible, but this was the background music to 80% of the finger blastings of the early 00s. The smell of patchouli, and lost virginity is said to be impregnated into cover of the original album.
@@brothernobody1775lol brilliant description , I can certainly relate hahaha
Well I must admit this song by crazy town butterfly is very corny sappy and cheesy by a rock band but is it even worth listening to it today

When MTV stuck to music and not reality tv
True
This!
Video killed the radio star -> Internet killed the video star
10 minutes of adverts every 5 minutes though, that's never changed 🤣
Miss the old MTV
I love how they credit The Red Hot Chilli Peppers for this song!!!
I'm confused 20 years later...... Is this an oldie now ? , Am I old now ?
Right?!?!?!
same cwap here
Both brother
This song is so old it's from back when MTV actually still played music
Get off youtube grampa!! ;)

Giggity to that one LoL LMFAO hahaha 😂
Funny good old days homie, when people knew to get out of the house and actually do productive/funny stuff, not staying all day long in the "gaming chair" and fap on gamer girls photos.

I miss mtv in the mornings before school.

R.I.P. Shifty. 🕊 I grew up listening to your music
Yes
Indeed, similar is Piper Rockelle - Butterflies which does not even start "singing" to two minutes in ... such is 2022.
Finally found it though, not disappointed.
Fun Fact : The catchy distinctive guitar riff you hear throughout was written by the one and only, Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist John Frusciante. The Song is called "Pretty Little Ditty". Makes me happy they sampled a JF tune ❤️
This song was on MTV a lot at the time. It hasn't lost any of its awfulness.
Back in the days of flip phones, portable CD players, and AOL Instant Messenger. This song takes me back to a more simpler time.

I remember being a child and hearing this on the radio, instantly fell in love with it but never knew what it was called. I heard it at the gym today and it instantly hit me to where I stopped my workout so I could listen to the lyrics and look it up. So happy I found it.
Same man
I remember mine, I was on vacation, lying down on the bed when I heard the song on the radio. I was struck and I screamed to my mum "not make noise!"
you should listen to the original track by red hot chili peppers called Pretty little ditty
That was deep man
This song just kicks Azzzzzz ......
The fact I saw the comment edited on December 26th 2024, to then say "2025" shows me there's some weirdos out here.
Who else grew up on this?
John Frusciante and Flea should get a bunch of money from these people.
lol
I don't think they have any money to give lol
AshtimusPrime
Thanks, just heard it. Really great tune. It didn't make sense to me that a cliche band with crappy lyrics could create at the same time such a beautiful sound. Frusciante on the other hand is an artistic type, makes sense now..
Who else came for the sake of the movie SING
fhahhaha me :D :D

Jaydon Hickman yes😂
Yep!, had to Google it though, couldn't remember the name of the song!

If you don't know, it is a Red Hot Chili Peppers song called Pretty Little Ditty
Definitely
I like how back in the 90's white guys represented that alternative rock look so much. Even when they rap. The painted finger nails the chain chokers. I remember seeing this on MTV before I walked out the door to go to my high school home room class such memories. Man I miss being a teen in the 90's
That was back when Limp Bizkit and Korn were dominating the charts, so everyone else wanted to sound just like them!
Christopher Regan And look like them lol. I remember I use to wear big black oversized baggy cargo pants with a waist chain and choker chain. I was alt Rocked out in my high school days. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
lonewolf261000 I'm pretty sure this came out in 2001. Not really the 90s anymore.
The first MP3 i downloaded on PHONE modem in 1999. Took me 35 minutes. I was ecstatic.
Cable in '99? Its not nice to brag!

1996-2002 was unique period of it's own between the decades
noa not the best music (I’m not saying everything was bad) but definitely interesting
yep
You will not have this feeling again in THIS LIFE ever..on this Planet..the perfect Time was then...
I'm so glad to live during those age
I always felt like "the real 90s" ended like in 93 or 94, or like it was two decades in one, 1990 to 1994 felt very different than 95 to 99, music, trends, clothes, tv, everything was different.

I'm really surprised they did not have a bigger music career. This song was ahead of time.
That's all.
