God will not guage or judge anyones salvation, child or adult, with His standard when they "stand " before Him. Jesus was speaking to the Jews who were under the old covenant revealing to them that its impossible to get to heaven under the law in the sermon on the mount and onwards. After the resurrection. under the new covenant Paul and the apostles taught that through faith in the gospel and His Son's shed blood that was poured out for all mankind is all thats needed. Thats it. FULL STOP. I applaud the children who are walking away ...may they find the grace message that contains faith in the finished work of the cross only as thier means to be saved. Everything else creates baggage and questions later in life. To walk around being aware of their "personal sins" (please give me scripture on that) and being in "sorrow". How do you know when its enough or if its not enough? The whole purpose of the sermon on the mount was to show that, to the Jews ( thier were no christians then ) it was impossible to do things to gain heaven. Jesus was Gods standard ... all judgement for past present and future sins were on Him and His blood paid for everyone.

      *James 4:7-10*
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

@@-chris-amen! Godly sorrow for sin is a mark of the Christian!

If you applaud children walking away, then you are of the Devil and not of God. Not everyone will be saved, but only those who are born again. Godly sorrow for sin and pursuit of righteousness are marks of the regenerate believer. You are in deadly peril because you have believed a false gospel. Ephesians 4:17-32
