C/U of Max as he chats to the interviewer. In answer to the question of whether Tommy hurt him, Max says "Hurt me? Does this [gestures to cuts about his eyes] look like I ran into a ring post? Certainly he hurt!". He goes on to say he had an incentive to fight - his two-month-old baby boy.

Swell champion! Love watching his interviews and fights. Don’t care if it’s a century ago. Max is rocking it in the 2000’s!
Never a bully like they made him look in Cinderella Man. He was an absolute gentleman. And he was a gentleman about losing to Braddock. He was secretly happy for him because he knew he was a deserving underdog. Good guy. That’s what I hear.
Right....☆☆☆☆☆
Back when this sport had class
Love this guy 😂😂
Did it hurt? He'll yes it hurt. Real man!
I can definitely see Max Baer, Jr.'s resemblance to his father whenever Senior smiles broadly....
You obviously have never seen footage of his mother.
@@January. No, I've never seen pictures of his mother..does he resemble her?
It’s a damn shame Ron Howard made Max look like a sadistic psychotic monster in the movie Cinderella Man. Max was a amiable affable luvable goofball. He never insulted Jim and Mar Braddock in a nightclub. He never boasted or bragged about Frankie Campbell s tragic death. It haunted Max the rest of his life. According to Max Jr “ he helped put Frankie’s children thru college. Max had nothing to do with the death of Ernie Schaff. After Max knocked Ernie cold at the end of their second fight. Ernie fought six more times including a knockout of Stanley Poreda. And when Primo Carnera s manager skipped town with Primos share of the purse from their title fight Max paid for Primo Carnera s hospital bills as That is where Primo ended up after being knocked down by Max 11 times in ten rounds.
People sure dressed very well in those days!
Respectful also. You can be polite and a badass.
Yes they did.
That must have been so godamn sweaty
@@thesun564 nah
Love Cinderella Man but they were unfair to Max.
Baer was very charismatic
That little 16 pound boy of his grew up to be Jethro on The Beverly Hillbillies and he's still alive and well.
"Yeah we know, haha and the role
of Jethro had him typecasted the
rest of his career."-😄
@@rogertemple7193 AND?
@@rogertemple7193 not true. He has had and has a glorious career by choice . What are you... some kind of imbecile?
@@rogertemple7193 yeah it did, he did such a good job playing that big oaf. All I see is Jethro when I look at Max Baer Jr. Can't help it.
Luv Max Barr saw his movies too
Max Baer Jr. once stated, when asked about boxing, "My father said boxing was like religion, in that it is always better to give than to receive, and I just didn't feel like i was that 'giving' of a person"...
Baby'Jethro' turned out quite well. Yes he did. What a legacy.
I especially love the Max Bear video Thank you my friend your number one fan Lou Martell
Max had a gang of trolls behind him before it was hip
Big guy in the left is his little brother. Held the record for most round 1 knockouts for some time.
Doesn’t seem like the guy they portrayed him as in Cinderella man
Nope he was a classy, funny guy in real life
@@RLSteffler well, he was classy in the movie too. He just had that little extra jab at Braddock, not because he hated him or anything, he likely legitimately didn't want to see him killed, so he was trying to scare him out of the fight. And when that didn't work, he tried scaring his wife, for Jimmy's own good. Again, didn't work
This is from the Baer's Wikipedia bio: "According to his son, actor/director Max Baer Jr. (who was born seven years after the incident):
You know how movies are they always have to drum things up for dramatic effect. They just always has to be a hero and a villain in the movie. Damn shame they did that to his guy, and now millions of people think he was actually like that.
@@MrBooblo086 I mean classy as in portraying an image of class. That is not at all the same as being a good person. But he wasn't giving a public image of being some unhinged monster.
Great boxer and sense of humor
The way they edit in questions to suit the answers that Baer has already given...
They say he was one the nicest men outside the ring.
Max was a good guy by all accounts. Buddy a great fighter also.
Max Baer was a great boxer and a gentleman ,and certainly not a ßadist as it was portrayed in the Cinderella man ,the death of Campbell was an accident and not intentional.
Did he just say 16 pounds? Jesus christ his mama knows how to calf lol
It does make me somewhat annoyed and sad at the fact those who have not seen or read footage of Max but have seen Cinderella Man wll think of him in such an undesirable light, i will never understand why he was portrayed as such an arrogant bully in the movie Cinderella Man, whilst i get that film value is used it would still have been a huge success if not more so had they written his part true to him.
Classy guy that Hollywood misused for their Cinderella Man movie.
Anyone still surprised the globalist controlled entertainment industry would do such a thing?
Max was a great guy.
Most of those old Champion level boxers were.
With the Brown Bomber topping them all...imho.
Love seeing ANY of the old footage regarding those tough ol' guyz of the past.
why would they run down a fellow Jew?
@@brucesmith1544
Factions...there are factions within the Agenda that compete with one another.
But in the end, I'm sure $$$ was the main catalyst.
They had to have a villain...so they villainized Max to give the buying public their "bad guy" to help sell the movie.
👍
