Yeah and the other consultant remarked that it was difficult because they didn't even get a price point when at the end of it there is a budget after all... Like why wouldn't you give a budget? If grandma is paying for the dress she needs to set her boundaries to avoid this situation...
I agree, she didn't even shed a year or anything. And it was clearly her decision to step back and think about it, so why would the consultant say that...?
Yes, she was polite about it. As for me, I get hangry, so if I'm considering a large purchase, and I'm hungry, I'm going to want to get something to eat and come back.

@S U R V I V O R humans always judge by what you put infront of them, that's normal behaviour. you can't just assume 50.000 things that might be but you CAN assume from the hints thrown in your face. that bride was very "I get what I want" and if she has money she wouldn't really need to ask him to pay nor would there be the shock and the sentence "I still want to eat" involved usually. Yeah. But you didn't become a real estate agent like him or an attorney like her sooo? I'm sorry they are more successful than you and have the money to prove it..??
I feel bad for the second bride. She was mostly listening to her little sister and trying to please her rather than herself. She almost bought a $10,400 dress. I got to be honest about the dress. It's pretty but that dress reminds me too much of a dress I saw at a local boutique in my area when I was shopping for my quince dress. That similar dress was only worth $700 in the shop not over $10,000.
I bought my wedding dress for $25.00 Married for free at the church and am the HAPPIEST MARRIED WOMAN I know. I'm not saying anyone needs to cheap out as much as I did... I'm just saying that the quality of the actual MARRIAGE and the character of the people getting married matters FAR more than the WEDDING. Priorities people... Priorities!
I think everyone is confusing the situations here. You're comparing people on a show to yourselves or everyday working-class women. Most of the women on these shows are well off or are marrying well-off men. The people who can't afford it generally leave with nothing. Like Bride #2 who was so gung-ho about the dress till it was time to pay. Many other women go in with a budget. But the lucky ones get to buy 2 dresses or $20k dresses. I said all of that to say its clear most of these women do have their priorities in order. The ones who pay the higher cost it doesn't mean their marriage is of less value than yours or anyone else's. If you had a million dollars you probably would have spent more on your wedding and been just as happy. I hate the misconception that everyone with money or that likes expensive things are less caring or genuine people.
Where I live, it's a general agreement that the more the wedding costs, the shorter the marriage will last lol. Of course that doesn't apply to everyone, but to the vast majority for sure. So it is as you said: Priorities!!
Yea exactly. Think about the one who will spend money for you, lmfao... and duh, it's just a night of using it and after that... now what? :( i feel so bad with that wasted amount.
@loveutill theendoftimes You're being salty on a thread about him donating money... Yeah, poor rich guy who is established to be generous and has better things to spend his money on.
Kinda hurts that the price they pay for a dress would cover my all expenses (rent, bills, transportation, grocery, social life, leasure) for a year in Europe.
In my dream wedding scenario, I'd pay a quarter of a million, but I would use a lot of it to pay for my guests to go to a destination wedding spot or a cruise.
@@Cerezo.lindsey Sweet, then my husband and I will be together for the rest of eternity. We got married by my uncle minister on my parents riverfront property. The only witnesses were my parents, my aunt, and my husbands two friends. There was no wedding dress, no decorations, no reception, no this, no that, no anything. The only money that was spent was the pricey one night stay at the hotel on the beach paid for by my mom as a gift. Aside from that, no money was wasted. My cousins on the other hand, they will be paying for their weddings for the rest of their lives.
Maybe it's her fiance's way of gifting her for their wedding. Some brides parents or siblings pay for the dress as a token. She may seem like a GD but they are college sweethearts been together about 13 years and currently have a kid and are well off financially
The more I watch say yes to the dress, the more I know that I don’t want a big, expensive wedding. I don’t understand how people can put down more than 1K on a dress.
50K is 10 times as much as I plan on spending for my wedding (small affair in a registration office with and aisle and a home bbq as reception) I honestly would be happy with a dress for 100.00 (unless my stepdad wants to pay for more expensive)
Bro I don’t get why they spend so much I mean I get it the dress is pretty but you’re only gonna wear it once in your life sooo...why spend sooo much?? She could have spent it on so many other things that could be much more important and useful...

It was just our parents, siblings and grandparents. Told everyone that bitched to us about it to get over it.
The stage has been set Sonny. If you pay $50,0000 for 2 dresses and a veil for the wedding and reception, you will ALWAYS have to spend BIG BUCKS in the future to impress her even more. HOPE YOU HAVE VERY DEEP POCKETS AND YOU HAVE MANY MONEY TREES PLANTED! Wish we could get an update on how happy Sonny is 3 years from now.
I spent $50 on Sale from about $120 from torrid. It was one of the 'special occasion/runway collection' dresses. And I promise you it's fucking gorgeous.
Why though? Alterations cost money and work. Why would a "poor" bride who has a 1000 dollar budget pay extra for alterations but a rich bride with a 40.000 dollar budget get it for free?
@@bo2720 I guess the theory is that the dress REALLY doesn't cost nearly that much - the mark up is huge. So the shop is getting a fantastic profit on $40,000. For example, wedding gowns are often sold at retail for 5 times their 'wholesale' value. So the $40,000 dress may have cost the shop $8,000. They are making $32,000 on that sale. Obviously, you have to take out salaries, rent, and other costs of doing business, just like you would do with the lower priced items. But with the $1,000 dress, they may only be making $800 or so. At that price point, there is not much wiggle room to offer any extras.

Married for free at the church and am the HAPPIEST MARRIED WOMAN I know. I'm not saying anyone needs to cheap out as much as I did... I'm just saying that the quality of the actual MARRIAGE and the character of the people getting married matters FAR more than the WEDDING. Priorities people... Priorities!
You are right...
True. That's why a wedding is a wedding (where you spend money) and a marriage is a marriage.
Para Sakti exactly. But the first one obviously wouldn’t care, she’s a gold digger.
Honestly, if someone told me that the dress I wanted was that much money, I’d immediately take it off and go try on less expensive dresses.
