The last one wasn't a dip dye .. and it also wasnt a shadow root ... Looked like you were going for an ombre' but there was absolutely no gradual fade .

I have slightly lighter hair than Gabrielle, and I want to dipdye my hair a very dark purple. Can I do that without bleaching it first, cuz I really don't want to damage my hair...

So my hair color is dark brown roots to reddish brown ends (I dyed my hair red a long time ago) and I wanted to put a pillarbox red on. I know there is a chance it won't be super vibrant since I'm not using bleach, but is there a chance that it won't just tint my hair and actually come out as red?
what shade of red is your hair currently?
People tell me it's a medium brown with red tint in it from the dye.

I want like midnight blue hair, maybe even after midnight or maybe a purple and my hair is kinda medium brown/dark brown would this work without bleaching? I'm gonna try it but like I don't want to spend money on dye if it doesn't work, I appreciate answer, thanks.

bleach works really good but 1 step wrong and boom dead hair :/ i think blue hair turns out better at bleached hair
this is an old comment but just in case -- do not put blue dye on brown hair, ever! it comes out icky. If you don't want to bleach your hair, go for red or purple tones.
Hi! Great video! :) Just wanted to ask, I already have dyed red hair and desperately want pillarbox red or vampire red. Can you put manic panic in over dyed hair (it's faded to a coppery colour), or would it be better to bleach it out first? I'm going to the hairdressers' to get it done and don't want to be a bigger pain than I need to be :)
+ObLIVious. If you really wanna have a bright Pillarbox/Vampire red color, you've to bleach it first. But it's ok to juist dye it over your faded coppery hair :)

I just throw it on my hair and use it like shampoo, I let it sit for 1 hour or so and I get amazing results.
It shouldn’t still be processing after a certain amount of time though
I’m just a hairstylist so I really don’t know what I’m talking about lol jk but I know manic panic is a semi permanent colour, I’m not sure if it’s going to be more intense if you left it on longer than the time it says.
@@taylerrenee9710 Yes, it absolutely does get more intense when you go longer. The bottle says 30 mins, but I always go for at least a full hour to get the best intensity, otherwise it can come out patchy.
Manic panic works more like a stain, as in, theres no chemical reaction or developer involved so you can be sure that it won't do any damage, even if you leave it in for a long time! In fact, I have noticed that it actually makes my freshly bleached hair feel much softer and stronger after using it!
Ok I don't understand if this is just a random person dying hair because it was so horrible to watch, I literally just skipped around. But all of their hairs look trashed completely. This dye doesn't even involve harmful chemicals or developer, so I dont understand how you were able to damage their hair this poorly. Also why tf did you just dye her hair in a straight line, It reminds me of the kool-aid dip dye children would do when they were 10.
I think you should definitely try pillarbox without lightening your hair. I'm not a fan of lightening hair all over because I think it looks so damaged. Since your hair was previously red I think it could take. It won't show too well in your roots but I think that will be beautiful with your natural color peaking through!

The 3rd girl with the double colour is only one that worked ( imo) I was gonna just put blue/navy over my own brown colour think now I may need to bleach.
I feel like the darker haired girl needed a stronger developer and some toner, I'm just saying ... Yawl did her wrong. She looked so disappointed.
How long will the colours last? For example I have dark blond hair and I would like to go for shocking blue this winter. How long will it last? And can I get my original hair colour back by just washing it out? Thanks for the video either way 😄
i think this is permanent
its semi permanent which means it will last for a month or less

+Susanne Posma it will slowly turn back into your natural color it depends how much you wash your hair the more you wash it when you first dye it it will be easier to get your natural color

+Irini Mendes some manic panic dark hair dyes will give you some purple effects but it won't last long. For your friend if he really wants to go silver he has to bleach it but since he has blonde hair he can go pretty much every color unless REALLY light dyes ( like silver ) Go on colormania.com it gives you a color chart !

some tips for you :x
if you are doing your whole hair just part your hair thats easier, and dye that. then you part your hair again dye it, and work your way up like that. then you can put a plastic bag over your head (not in your face obviously xD) and after a hour maybe 2 but that depends on what hair dye you use. then you can blow dry your hair with the bag still on it (the heat of the blowdryer makes the color turn out better and brighter
The fact that the color takes so much better on blonde hair is why people bleach their hair before application. U can barely see it in the black or brown hair. I have dark brown hair so that wouldn't work for me. I would have to bleach it as i want it as bright as the blonde one
I have really dark brown hair, too and it looks black. But i dyed my hair with manic panic after midnight and it showed up great. And i didnt bleach my hair.
if i diluted this with conditioner would it show up on light brown hair???
Diana Mkay probably not, I bleached my hair to a level ten and diluted hot hot pink and the violet and it's showing up but fades quickly

level 11 is perfect for every pastel color :)
Does the bleach damage your hair
Yes, all bleach does!
The damage depends more on how well you prepare your hair (i recomend using coconut oil the night before doing it) and the developer you use to do the bleach, as far as I know the more vol. of the developer the more effective but the more it damages your hair :) but don't be afraid of it.
What colors would you recommended for dark hair?
+Bgutierrz I'd recommended: After Midnight, Enchanted Forest, Green Envy, Infra Red, Purple Haze,
Hot Hot Pink, Raven, Shocking Blue or Vampire Red. But you only will get a glow of the color in the sunlight.

How was it possible to actually keep the dye on the unbleached hair? I've tried to do that on my unbleached blonde hair/roots and I washed it right out. Should I keep it on longer or shorter?

it honestly depends but I'd say probably not, best to be on the safe side and get two. you can store any leftover dye for touch ups.

this is a really good video... especially to see color results and good application technique. wish i had seen it before i did my hair... but it came out great at the end of it all! (i wouldn't recommend using their lightening pack on dark hair or etnic/poc's hair as you can see it lifted to orange level, still took to be visible and more so in the light nicely. but get some bleach n 30 volume foils n heat 50-75mins+ if healthy hair to lift lighter level). protein pack+heat. deep conditioner/moisturizer+heat. good luck!

+R5Lover 101 the reds would show somewhat especially in the sunlight. The darker ones like purple, will make your hair look darker but have a tint in the sunlight. It just depends on what red youre going for. the brighter the red dye the more visible it may be depending on the shade of dark brown your hair is. Anything other than red will either be a tint in sunlight or a waste of money

Depends on how dark. If you have light brown hair maybe but if you have medium to dark it may just darken your hair and add pink lights to it

the color is vegan vegetable dye so it just stains the hair. their is zero damage. only bleaching before hand can damage the hair if done wrong.
