Im currently a cosmetology student and I use manic panic .It fades out very well and I have dark brown hair (level four) its very vivid in color and I enjoy it so I just wanted to add on some tips I learned . 1. The color wheel is your bestfriend use opposite colors to cancel each other out or cover up . Ex. yellow to purple, Blue and orange, Red and green. 2. Manic Panic is only to process for 30 mins if you leave it on longer you will stain your scalp or irritate it please always follow manufacture's directions on any hair color! 3. Invest in a color safe shampoo and conditioner (I use Matrix Color Obsessed) And wash your hair with lukewarm water to keep the color vivid 4. let the color naturally fade to the point it would be easy to cover it up or leave it be or go to a salon to have it fixed don't do diy hair color removers you can damage your hair. 5. know the difference between a semi permanent color ( straight from the tube, no developer needed) and a demi Permanent color (Mixed with developer before application lasts longer) But this was great information to share , but I hope this helps .
@@la6136 well I wouldn't recommend to go past the processing time because manic panic is a progressive dye ( it gets darker and darker the more ot stays on or retouched onto the hair ) the only reason why its lasting longer because its stained your hair and possibly you scalp just be careful
For what it's worth, I've left the dye on overnight as well. It doesn't damage your hair but it probably isn't great for your scalp. The dye does last longer, but also on your scalp. Boo hiss!!
You've taught me how to get permanent sunset orange hair I believe. I never thought to use developer with it! That's just brilliant. I mean it's the opposite advice mind you but it was damn helpful! Thank you for making this video!
You say green like it is a bad thing. 🤣 I chose my favourite colour 💚 for my grey hair 👵 but I was hoping for more of a streaked looked. If I like Manic Pantic, I eventually want to copy a cool photo of a person that had green and blue streaked hair. Maybe a bit more than I can do myself. Enjoyed your video and I am able to pick up a few tips. Cheers.
Go for it! Hair colors can do so much to spice things up. It def takes more time to find an outfit that works with whatever color my hair is, but the payoff is you get to match the color of your hair with your outfit lol. Plus I find that I actually prefer my hair colored versus having it stay it’s natural color haha
sooo i bleached my brown hair today with the manic panic kit, turned out yellow so i thought it was a good base to apply my purple dye. well i was wrong because my hair turned out brown .,. aaand ofc i didn't dry my hair before applying the dye :,)
I'm so glad I'm watching this before mine comes in the mail. 🤣 I'm a blond...my virgin hair has never been another color, so I'm doing my due diligence with researching before I go burgundy!!! Thank you.
Awh them old times, i remember when i tried to bleach my hair after using manic panic hair dye to give some different color and surprise!! It did not bleach a strand of my hair after leaving it on for an hour, like wow manic panic is a miracle
Yes--red is the hardest color to get out of hair. It will only stay vibrant a couple of weeks but once it fades your hair will be a light red/pink for several months depending on your hair washing routine. To make it last longer use lukewarm water while washing, shampoo as little as possible (1-3x a week), use color safe/preserving shampoo and conditioner. Hope this helps
I bought the forest green! But I’m worried it’s not going to be enough for my hair. My hair is a little above my shoulders and I have many layers&bangs like a mullet kind of. And my hair is medium thick. Do you think that’s gonna be enough?
When my hair was that length, I used just shy of a jar and a half per dye job. It really depends! If you’re rocking a mullet, your hair will be less thick so 1 jar might be ok. Personally, I would never risk running out tho. Hope your hair turns out absolutely amazing 😊
@@iggywobbles Thank you for your response. I just dyed it an hour ago and it actually turned out amazing! One jar was more than enough so that went great!

Here's one for you...can you use a box dye on your hair if there is manic panic on it...used to tone with manic panic not as a color???? Please answer...or do you need to fade or wash out the manic panic first then dye your hair with the box dye???
Ooo good question! I am not a professional, but I do know from my own experience that you can definitely apply a dark boxed dye right over top of manic panic. You'd have to use darker dye to cover it up (dark brown, blue black, plum, black). I typically try and fade out my colour first for about a month by washing with dish soap. If you don't, your dye job might have a slight cool or warm undertone to it (depending on the shade of manic panic). Happy dyeing🔥😃

you're so funny! and you explained it all straight and clear though! and yes, you help my Italian hair not suicide :) First bleaching of my life a few weeks ago, bought one of the MP blue, I'll try it very soon! keep you posted! :))
Love this. I dyed my hair indigo a little while ago and found it too gloomy for this already gloomy winter so I tried to fade it out. What do you think about the Vitamin c and shampoo method of fading? I tried that and it barely worked.. only turned my indigo hair dark grey. After a couple tries it was no longer fading. Seemed stained. Then I tried the baking soda and developer and it worked a lot better but still only to a certain point which was turquoise since my hair wasn't near-white to begin with.. I finally just did a light bleach bath and was able to get it out after a couple times. Still a blue tint.
I put the wildfire red on my daughters natural blonde hair and I can not get it out. It has been months. I really don't want to bleach it 😩 the purple faded completely from her hair but the red will not go away.
Yeah, Wildfire should come with a warning. Red passion comes out pretty easily if she ever wants to dye her hair red again. Try a bleach bath. It’s pretty gentle! Good luck 🥳🤗
So basically you're saying if I use after midnight to my virgin black hair (to get little blue hue/tint to my naturally black hairs) which I was planning to do before watching this video ... To get a amplified after midnight blue and simply put it on my black hairs without lifting or using developer But what your vid taught me if I use developer with it I might get that semi permanent blue hue/tint as a permanent Wow it's a win win

Can I put some conditioner in the manic panic dye so the color it's not that intense? I've seen it with other ones but i don't know ab this one
Yes, you can. It works best with a silicone free conditioner.
