Update: it went well! I showed up a little early so I arrived to an open but seemingly empty building. Like I literally pushed the door open going "hello..?" Lots of familiar and new faces. I DIDNT have a big grownass man-cry. The message was delivered by a newer guy around my age, and it was his first time speaking at our congregation. And he had a great message about how life is tumultuous but God is consistent. And I had to introduce myself to homie and tell him that's precisely what I needed to hear this morning. I was worried about running into my ex, but she's apparently out of town or something. I'm going again next week.
Good for you for deciding to go back! It takes a lot of courage to do something like that. Maybe you can use that decision as motivation for other things you wanna do! Keep at it!
Hey Doinko, I ain’t religious personally and I really dislike the actions of a lot of people who are religious and then act bigoted/horrible to others or promote ignorant views, however by all means man you should absolutely pursue what brings you peace. Church can be a place of peace and community when done well and I hope you stay happy with your life man, keep doing you.
I understand why you havent gone back to church yet, but I believe that you wont be judged by them for actions that you would judge yourself for. The sense of community in these sorts of places make it much easier for people to understand other people's problems and views of themselves, and I'm 100% sure they'd welcome you back with open arms. God has given you the opportunity for a second chance, Mr Doinko, all you have to do is take it. Oh, and one more thing: Stop calling yourself a loser, because you arent. You have the want to do better, which makes leagues better than any loser out there. Again, you just have to push yourself out of where you are now into that better lifestyle. As someone who has watched you since your first larry video, I know that you can do it, and you have my full support.
I'm at my church building rn reading this , thanks dude, that really means the world to me. 🙏 I just feel like I keep trying to improve my life and I keep hitting walls, walls behind walls, and it's rough. I know I can get over all of them it's all just so tiring. 🙏🙏 we're getting better tho
@el_doinko that's what life is, but instead of focusing on the wall, keep looking for ways around it. Only then will you find that motivation you're looking for.
i'm not religious but i appreciate this video. i hope you find more peace in the future, you're in my thoughts :) your church sounds lovely. keep your community close ^^ also, what is the movie(?) featured in the background (and thumbnail) it looks rly moving
I'm an atheist. been one for a long time now. But you should go to church. I think, given how intelligent you are, you'll start to see church for what it is. For me, it doesn't matter how nice anyone in the religion is or how much peace you find in it - it's all to do with whether or not the beliefs are in fact true, and to date, no one has demonstrated their religious beliefs are in fact true - Christian or otherwise. There is nothing true and real that a religious person can do that I can't without their religious beliefs. I can find peace, I can be nice to people, I can enjoy my life, and I can do it all without any belief in a god being.
Yeah I'm not ever going to preach how someone needs to see things, I think for me It's much more about the community and these people being genuine role models and positive influences on my life. Especially at this point, my actual involvement with the faith itself is shaky at best. It doesn't mean I don't believe in it, I'm just not fully immersed in it, and I don't think I ever was, and that's okay. That's one of the things that made Christianity appeal to me over Catholicism, where there was no bar for entry. Your involvement was as high or low as you wanted it to be.
@@el_doinko I definitely will "preach" to people how I think they should see things if I think the truth is on my side or if I think their side isn't. I value truth more than I value what people think about me for expressing my thoughts honestly. I also want to be proved wrong, because that's how I stop being wrong. And I can't really be proved wrong if I don't start by engaging with people and sharing what I think about things. I do think faith is a waste of energy. Faith isn't a virtue nor is it a pathway to truth. It's gullibility. Faith is believing something when you don't have a good reason - because if you had a good reason for a belief, you give the good reason. You never said "I just take it on faith". There is a bar for entry in Christianity as well. You have to believe something that is not evidently true to be a Christian.
Yeah nah it's not really up to someone else to change your mind in that regard. That's a very easy and justifiable perspective to have, and that's how I used to think. And the best way i can put it is that it won't be an individual that changes your mind. For me personally it took a mixture of some deeply personal or mind boggling phenomena to realize that there are things about this world that truly cannot be explained by science. I think of it like how certain insects have cones that can see colours that we can't even conceieve. There's just a lot more going on than we can understand. But no person or scripture can make that revelation for you.
