i think so many answered with 9/11 because im pretty sure this was filmed in new york. it was really traumatic for those who saw the second tower collapse live.
I live in Brazil and my response would be the coup (impeachment) against president Dilma Rousseff (2016). For older brazillians, the military dictatorship (1964-85).... So no, 9/11 was shocking around here, but not the most important moment.
pink pineapple I think he means in relation to things like the middle East war, where way more people die which isnt even mentioned. Of course 9/11 was a tragedy, but it's getting way more attention than others

Actually called chemical weapons used against innocent civilians in syria by the assad regime, and yes it's illegal because it's war crimes and violation of human rights :)
Likely because it was a foreign event and foreign events don't stick in people's heads as much as domestic ones do, if you want to other countries and asked the same question probably very few of them would say 9/11.

k it’s just common sense dude. The moon landing is the greatest achievement in human history. They watched the Berlin Wall falling down and the USSR collapsing. I stand by my original point. The title of this video and it’s content do not correlate
IDK why this made me laugh, but I love, "My grandparents are just super old." My grandfather was born in 1899. (I'm in my 30s, BTW.) Poon SINGHATIRAJ ww1 and 2? The global economic collapse of the 30s? Cold war? Internet? A lot of it seems pretty global to me. Truth of the matter is, the West has had its hands in many political matters worldwide in the past 100 years.

Before I watched the video I thought I would either say idk, 9/11, or Obama, then I remembered I also was born the year DVDs became a thing, smartphones were invented, I think even wireless internet was invented in my lifetime, which is sick af. Maybe historically, though, people would remember 9/11 or Obama before they remember the history of technology.
If the person was born in 1942, and the war ended in 1945, they probably wouldn’t remember what the war was like. It makes sense that the 75 year old person does not remember the war.
WWII in America didn't have any fighting on our soil around us like in other countries. WWII was just an adjustment on everyday life. 9/11 was an attack on our soil and frightened everyone.

MortenTheBeast I'm not trying to be a douche or anything, like I'm generally curious, why do you think they're fake? When you heard for the very first time in your life that people landed on the moon did you automatically think they were faked? Also do your parents think they're faked?
The last few were alive when WW2 was happening, but they were only probably about 1, 2, or 3 years old, so they wouldn't remeber much. I'm suprised no one mentioned anything about the Cold War other then the assination of John F. Kennedy. I guess, 9/11 is fresher in their minds.
They'd have to atleast be 75 and that would place them being born in 1942. So they'd have to be like 90 years old before it'd start meaning anything to them.
9/11 also had a profound, lasting impact on the entire world. That has lead to bad foreign policy and the deaths of even more innocent people all across the globe. As terrorist became more and more ambitious with their attacks.
The kid that said the invention of smartphones is totally on point, it actually changed the world. In the middle of 2019 it has developed a technology war between the 2 biggest potencies in the world. While the effects of 9/11 are long gone.
The effects of 9/11 are not long gone. Trump got elected on the back of calling for a "total ban of all Muslims entering the United States" You really think such an extreme level of hatred towards Muslims would exist were it not for 9/11?
this video was posted a month ago but the 14 year old girl said she was alive during 9/11 when I am almost 16 and I was still in my moms belly. Makes no sense
russia is pseudodemocratic. but it doesnt matter in this context. ussr's collapse still had massive consequences, even to americans. it ended the cold war.
I'm honestly so shocked only 1 person said the Berlin Wall falling. And also shocked no other wars, like the vietnam war or the korean war or afghanistan war.. none were mentioned yet all had just as much death and significance as 9/11. They just weren't on US soil and therefore weren't broadcast all over the TV for years to come.
2,997 people dying in a terror attack in a country where attacks as big that don't normally happen. The moon is still there, being studied. Those people aren't here no more
Byron Justice that was very recent. So if u were alive for that but not 9/11 you would have to be kind of young but the young kids made no sense with their responses because they are kids
The Hamburgler I was only 8 or 9 when Bin Laden was killed, and still understood the significance. Maybe it’s the household because my household is very conservative and patriotic
When my history teacher told us on the 9/11 17 year anniversary that he remembers running across the street as fast as he could and looking back and seeing the towers fall... He's now in NM and is a great teacher
Mine: Probably the Parkland shooting. I wasn’t in the building when it happened, but I live rather close to the high school. When I heard about it on the news after school, I was scared half to death, knowing that was close to our school. We didn’t have to go on lockdown, because it was almost the end of the day, and no one had known about it. People say, “that will never happen where I live”, and I believed that-until that day. Now, I am paranoid and always on alert.
It’s almost like they are America! * gasp *plus this video was filmed in New York, half these people probably lived there when 9/11 happened. Plus if you asked a Russian person, the events would be very Russian centric. Same with Japan, Kenya, Chile or any other country.
All these have mostly the same people, this is not random people but used as an ' influencers' for the sheeple. Most of the time my comments and replies to people disappear. Let's see if this sticks.
9/11 is that much of a big deal in the USA? They make it look worse than Hitler. I mean... there are much worse things... like what's happening in Syria and Waluigi not being in Smash.
This is so interesting. This shows how subjective 'the biggest historical event' is as an idea. If I witnessed when the first people landed on the moon, I'm sure I would say that was the biggest event, but so many people said 9/11. It's crazy to me that people who have lived for so many more decades than I have would choose something that happened in my lifetime.
LeToplache007 That’s exactly what I mean. The question is “What’s the biggest historical event in your lifetime?” yet there are too many events to easily decide on one.
The biggest historical events since 1950: 1. invention of the Internet 2. moon landing 3. more modern computers 4. civil rights movement (MLK speech) 5. 9/11 6. JFK assassin's 7. Berlin Wall 8. Obama becoming president 9. Trump becoming president 10. assassination of Osama Bin Laden
For ppl talking abt the 14 year old on 9/11, this was filmed in 2016, and her birthday could’ve been really close to when this was filmed, meaning she turns 15 in 2016 which can mean she was born in 2001 when 9/11 happened
I wish you had older people in this series! I'm only 34 but 75 is not very old. I would love to hear about what people in their 80s and older have to say about life, especially for this question about the biggest historical event in one's lifetime. Any way you can expand to older people?
It’s crazy how 9/11 effected so many people. I wasn’t born yet when 9/11 happened and in discussions at school I know it was a horrible traumatic event and I’m going to make it a priority to educate myself on this topic
Lilly yellow Well the highest amount of people killed in a single shooting (in the us) has been 59, as opposed to 9/11 where 2998 people died, it changed airport security entirely, started a war, and alot of people received a lot of exposure to asbestos and other harmful materials / chemicals which has lead to deadly illnesses among some survivors. Ofc there's the fear of flying and tall buildings.
*_Historical events that occurred in my lifetime:_* - Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003 - 2011 | It started a year prior to my birth) - COVID-19 Pandemic (2020 - Present) - Recent BLM Movement (2020) - The first American president to be impeached for the second time (2021) - US Capitol Attack (2021) - Gaza-Israel Conflict (2006 - Present) No 9/11 because I was born 3 years later *_Historical events that might occur in my lifetime:_* - First humans to set foot on Mars - WW3 (If it happens after 2025, I may even have to fight in it :/) - Climate change - Immortality - -Alien invasion-

It was 9-11, until COVID-19 occurred.

Samantha Marie the oldest guy was 75 and he was only a year old during WWII
Yeah but many things happened because of WWII for example Cold War and when the Berlin Wall.
How? WWII ended in 1945 and the oldest was like 3 y/o then.
Or at least Vietnam war..
9/11 was biggest for amicans but I think fall of soviet union was bigger for most of the world. Also how didn't those few last people say ww2...
Because 9/11 was right in front of their face unlike WWII
deast
Drove me insane. Apperently 9.11 is bogger than ww2.
Also, the fact no one mentioned vietnam or korea.
My gran was born in 42, so she was about 3 when the war ended. It didn't really impact her, as she was an infant

Ninja Peep America is very well educated, you’re the uneducated one here
SnowyParker he meant weapons like the chemical gases
He’s a kid he knows as much as I did when I was his age
The kid that said the invention of smartphones is totally on point, it actually changed the world. In the middle of 2019 it has developed a technology war between the 2 biggest potencies in the world. While the effects of 9/11 are long gone.
SigmaTV we’re still taking our shoes off in airports
Jacki Q who tf does that?
I still get my prostate checked by TSA just because my last name is Bin Laden.
The effects of 9/11 are not long gone. Trump got elected on the back of calling for a "total ban of all Muslims entering the United States"
You really think such an extreme level of hatred towards Muslims would exist were it not for 9/11?
"While the effects of 9/11 are long gone" has to be one of the worst takes i have seen in a while
this video was posted a month ago but the 14 year old girl said she was alive during 9/11 when I am almost 16 and I was still in my moms belly. Makes no sense
Sarah Corrales yeah I was very confused when she said that! 🤷
It was filmed in 2016
They filmed in 2016 so she's probably 16/17 now

It was RECORDED IN 2016
the mets winning the world series
Im suprised no one mentioned the collapse of the ussr
Helen Cox Someone said the fall of the Berlin Wall.
russia is pseudodemocratic. but it doesnt matter in this context. ussr's collapse still had massive consequences, even to americans. it ended the cold war.
I'm surprised that none of the Boomers said "The Collapse of The Soviet Union/Communism".
“Taking Care Of My Dog.”
*biggest historical event I ever heard.*
I was born in 1986. I think the biggest event in my life time was the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, followed by 9/11.
Umm...every war you mentioned, except maybe Korea, were broadcast way more than 9/11 was.
Winged Hussar It's really weird you know about the fall of the Berlin wall if u were 3 yo... Maybe u know about this because it was still on the news.
Friedrich Werbowy He doesn't have to remember it, it still happened during his lifetime.
Winged Hussar Most Americans don't know what the fall of the Berlin wall was.
2:38 Yes, the end of dictatures and instauration of democracy in Portugal!
I saw this comment at the exact same time as she started talking about it .
As a vampire I would say the invention of the printing press.
I totally love this series! Hope it continues!
I find it's adorable how Maye Musk is talking about her son's company
9 out of 11 of them said 9/11
Good one
I'm shocked only one person said the civil rights movement
wow everyone remembers my birthday...oh wait...
Yeah, I’m so honored that these people keep saying my birth month and day!
Me too
How can you honestly say that 9/11 was more historical than man first landing on the moon??
To be fair, the moon was pretty much a cool achievement. Where as 9/11 single handedly changed the world forever.
2,997 people dying in a terror attack in a country where attacks as big that don't normally happen. The moon is still there, being studied. Those people aren't here no more
mrgogmagog1 that was fake, they recorded a fake video to beat the other country. Duh.
well they had to be over 49 to say it
If you weren’t alive when it happened
Can’t believe nobody said Osama Bin Ladin being killed. For Americans, that’s significant.
Byron Justice yes but you are the educated minority you see
That was significant, but did not have the impact of 9/11
Thank you that was a big impact on my life
When my history teacher told us on the 9/11 17 year anniversary that he remembers running across the street as fast as he could and looking back and seeing the towers fall... He's now in NM and is a great teacher
Collapse of Soviet Union??
A couple people said the Berlin Wall, which to Americans represented the fall of the Soviet Union
Also development of Internet was more important
Eddie Russell
I thought more people would have said the internet.
MY BOYFRIEND WHO???
WTF did you say about me?
Soviet Union XD

Mine: Probably the Parkland shooting. I wasn’t in the building when it happened, but I live rather close to the high school. When I heard about it on the news after school, I was scared half to death, knowing that was close to our school. We didn’t have to go on lockdown, because it was almost the end of the day, and no one had known about it. People say, “that will never happen where I live”, and I believed that-until that day. Now, I am paranoid and always on alert.
0:43 9/11 happend in 2001 so you weren't born yet
this was filmed in 2016 so she was but she probably hadn't had her birthday yet
VGclassicVG rewind the video and read the first four words
calm down jfc i was just correcting them
VGclassicVG 0:01
VGclassicVG Idiot can't even read first words of the video. 2016-14 years 364 days = 2001 beggining so he would be 9 months also in 2001.
Amazing how america centric most of the answers are.
Yeah. I think they took the question as "historical event which impacted me most" rather than "biggest historical event in my lifetime".
iona. Well they *are* Americans, and these were the events that impacted them the most
This was filmed in New York City. Of course many of the people would say 9/11.
YeAh iTs aLmoSt LikE tHeyRe AmEriCan
It’s almost like they are America! * gasp *plus this video was filmed in New York, half these people probably lived there when 9/11 happened. Plus if you asked a Russian person, the events would be very Russian centric. Same with Japan, Kenya, Chile or any other country.
I've watched multiple of these and the 10 year old hasn't answered a single one hahaha
The Joker "I don't know" I LOVE HER voice like SPEAK
I kind of find her tone of voice to be obnoxious
The volume of her voice is nice, but idk. The sound of her voice when she ends her sentence annoys me
All these have mostly the same people, this is not random people but used as an ' influencers' for the sheeple. Most of the time my comments and replies to people disappear. Let's see if this sticks.
9/11 is that much of a big deal in the USA? They make it look worse than Hitler.
I mean... there are much worse things... like what's happening in Syria and Waluigi not being in Smash.
Like it showed that what people thought was one of the most secure, strongest countries in the world was still vulnerable.
Is the largest terrorist attacked on American soil a big deal? Watching live on television as over 3000 innocent lives were taken a big deal?
ChrisLuigiTails
Get over waluigi
30#1s For Mimi - And here a guy who thought I was serious about Waluigi. I don't even play Smash
ChrisLuigiTails they’re all New Yorkers. I’d imagine it sticks harder in their brains because they personally lived it
Got really proud when the 62 yo woman talked about our revolution (it happened in 1974)
0:33 "last year 2 years ago"
He meant it like "last year or two years ago". Come on
Are you stupid?
I hear "last year or two years ago"
Boi wtf
#10 is useless
In every video she says idk
No joke
time stamp?
@@kirtu9035 They meant the ten year old.
Exactly what i thought.
How about doing this in a different country than the USA?
Yeah since all they care about is a false event
What event?
Lol retards think 911 was false
PORTUGAL.
ONE WAS IN PORTUGAL.
I like how there was a streak of adults mentioning 9/11 and stuff, and then suddenly one guy said "Barrack Obama" 💀
This is so interesting. This shows how subjective 'the biggest historical event' is as an idea. If I witnessed when the first people landed on the moon, I'm sure I would say that was the biggest event, but so many people said 9/11. It's crazy to me that people who have lived for so many more decades than I have would choose something that happened in my lifetime.
you're 23 years old and you can't answer a simple question? ok buddy lol
blah blag It’s not a simple question.
Vulchrys It kind of is.
Vulchrys It is a VERY VERY SIMPLE question, I'm 15 and I could list at least 10 things
LeToplache007 That’s exactly what I mean. The question is “What’s the biggest historical event in your lifetime?” yet there are too many events to easily decide on one.
Vulchrys just say one ffs
March 13th, 2020 when I left school because of the corona virus. Haven’t seen my friends in person since then.
same. I feel ya.
The woman who said all the impactful moments in her children's lives was the sweetest
The biggest historical events since 1950:
1. invention of the Internet
2. moon landing
3. more modern computers
4. civil rights movement (MLK speech)
5. 9/11
6. JFK assassin's
7. Berlin Wall
8. Obama becoming president
9. Trump becoming president
10. assassination of Osama Bin Laden
LongJohn Silverthorne (in america)
Do the same, but with events that concern the whole world and not only the US now
I'm surprised some of the older folks didn't mention hitler or ww2
For ppl talking abt the 14 year old on 9/11, this was filmed in 2016, and her birthday could’ve been really close to when this was filmed, meaning she turns 15 in 2016 which can mean she was born in 2001 when 9/11 happened
I just turned 18 its crazy thinking about the possible historical events I'll experience in my lifetime.
I wish you had older people in this series! I'm only 34 but 75 is not very old. I would love to hear about what people in their 80s and older have to say about life, especially for this question about the biggest historical event in one's lifetime. Any way you can expand to older people?
That was awesome to watch
Imagine accidentally mixing the footage of this video with the one called "What Was the Happiest Day of Your Life?" lmao
It’s crazy how 9/11 effected so many people. I wasn’t born yet when 9/11 happened and in discussions at school I know it was a horrible traumatic event and I’m going to make it a priority to educate myself on this topic
Okay its 9/11
Yeah well, it was kinda a big deal.
If you only ask Americans, yes.
It was all planned people still complain
minski76 actually it affected a lot of countries because not just Americans died.
NineEleven nineeleven,NINEELEVEN,NINEeleven,(random event),NINE ELeven Nine Eleven, IDK.......,Nine Eleven. There in a nutshell.
14 but remembers 9/11 even though 2017-14=2003
Interesting.
"What was the biggest historical event in your lifetime?"
Me: 2020.
if you ask this question 10 years in the future many people would probably say Covid-19 outbreak
It’s crazy to me that no one mentioned any of the major shootings
Lilly yellow Well the highest amount of people killed in a single shooting (in the us) has been 59, as opposed to 9/11 where 2998 people died, it changed airport security entirely, started a war, and alot of people received a lot of exposure to asbestos and other harmful materials / chemicals which has lead to deadly illnesses among some survivors. Ofc there's the fear of flying and tall buildings.
Thats because honestly they care only when it happens because of how often it happens, yet they refuse to give up their guns
I guess Kennedy counts
@@RamdomRando Why should we? If you're not the one committing the crime why should you be punished?
i also was born shortly after 9/11 so technically it didn’t happen in my lifetime
Most people besides the kids: 911
19 Year Old: oH! tHe iNtRoDuCtIoN oF sMaRt pHoNeS
What's wrong with that? Smartphones have transformed society more than almost any technology ever? Plus he was young when 911 happened
“The Mets winning the World Series” honestly the best answer here
*_Historical events that occurred in my lifetime:_*
- Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003 - 2011 | It started a year prior to my birth)
- COVID-19 Pandemic (2020 - Present)
- Recent BLM Movement (2020)
- The first American president to be impeached for the second time (2021)
- US Capitol Attack (2021)
- Gaza-Israel Conflict (2006 - Present)
No 9/11 because I was born 3 years later
*_Historical events that might occur in my lifetime:_*
- First humans to set foot on Mars
- WW3 (If it happens after 2025, I may even have to fight in it :/)
- Climate change
- Immortality
- -Alien invasion-
