I'm using a variety of Reaper minis and Dungeons and Dragons ones that I got for pretty cheap. I was planning on having the team's painted to represent the four seasons.
You mentioned that Decay rolls twice on the injury chart, but I’ve looked at in the leaked rule book it states there is a +1 modifier to rolls on the casualty table. Have i missed something somewhere else?
I agree. Taking 3 RR is just a false sense of security and by getting "only" 2 RR you are forcing yourself to play more strategic and not doing stupid things on the pitch.
This. 4 TG for the cage, Sure Hands Thro-Ra for picking up the ball, skeletons for chaff and fouling and Blitz-ras for... Well, blitzing. Love Khemri, can't wait for my punga Kick starter to get here😁
Absolutely, 2 RR is enough if you play safe most of the time, sure you'll get a bad drive every now and then, but that's blood bowl. If you want a third reroll 140 will come eventually. Or if you have Ben's leader fetish you're set up for that too!
@@BoneheadPodcast Whoops!! I meant Undead. Got those four mummies running around. I really want to pick up the Pembra models, but apparently was late to the kickstarter party.
Tomb Kings are buffed from last edition. The Guardians are the same cost and with Decay basically being inconsequential, they are far more resilient than they used to be. It’s a significant buff and explains why the team has done well in early tournaments.
Tomb Kings were the second team I ever build, from 2 Necron kits (Lychguard and Warriors, shuffeling around some heads and adding balls to the throwers) actually. My fluff is that they hail from Lybaras and were entombed in ivory constructs rather than preserved traditionally. Was very happy to see them still part of the game!
That Punga miniatures kickstarter is incredible. I spent a long time eyeing up that team after watching this video. Shame I could almost build three GW plastic team boxes for that price. :(
Glad to see all Skeletons have Thick Skull. Here's my 3,2,1 Starter: 3 TG 2 BR 1 TR 6 Skellies (bench) 3 RR 1 Million TV 3 TGs is enough vs most. Max block + 1 Sure Hands is enough at the start. And 1 extra skelly for a cheeky foul.
I'd love to see Ushabti get added to the Tomb King roster when they get reimagined but as they have the tomb guardians I doubt that would happen. Could a st4 ag 3 thrower be a thing? Passing and strength on primary to replace thro-ras. I'm sure they'd just get put on the line anyway so it might not work but I like a lot of the 3rd party miniatures that use Ushabti like positionals.
what about dedicated fans? in bb20 one should buy some at the start and with the fans, i dont know which build, right now I'm at 4 TG, 1 Blitzer, 3 RRs, 6 Fans, 5 Skellies
Pretty sure I would go with: 4 TGs 2 Blitzers Anoynted Sure Hands 5 Skellies 2 RRs SH is way better than the third RR, and 12 players is quite handy as well with Av7 Linos. Personally, I feel that Khemri are one of the teams who need rerolls the least. 4 players that can easily 3 Dice, 2 Block, a Sure Hands, no need to roll dice for passes or dodges or handoffs. 2 is plenty, imho.
Yeah, 2RR is fine for most teams as long as you accept your fate. Khemri is probably one of the teams that rewards solid play the most, but you have to go into it knowing that - or you'll need the 3rd or 4th reroll! haha!
The 3 Tomb Guardians roster is the best for me. As much as it seems that TK is a bashing team, it is not in the beggining of a league. They just have two blitzers and no mighty blow, so they are a control team. It is the best team if you want to learn how to position your players, because any mistake you make is going to be a headache, given the fact that you have a poor speed and maneuvrability. You really need both Thro-ras since the beginning because the enemy will hunt them down as soon as possible. You need both blitzers to maximize the blitz and blocks with them. Tomb Guardians are there to tangle up enemy players, and once they gain mighty blow, or brawler they became fearsome positionals.
I wonder if GW put teams in legacy "for now", and will eventually release all of them with new models. I mean, if BB2020 came out in january, we'd have both the snotlings and the necromantic team in "legacy", and I highly doubt they're going to release a new version/season, and then stop making models for it. Do we need a remake of the 2016 teams already? Not really. We need more big guys and star players in plastic though...
Yes! Star Players in plastic is what I'm hoping for! But you're right - I think they'll just keep making new miniatures before re-doing the older ones (not that they're that old, or bad at all!)! I think we'll see most of these teams get the GW treatment, and hopefully a little extra spice!
What works for me: 4 Mummies 2 Blitzers 2 Throwers 3 Linemen 2 RR 1 FF I won my first match with this setup 2:0 against a Nurgle Team. 6SPP for a Thrower for the 2 TDs, no injuries. Another one I'd like to try: 2 Mummies 2 Blitzers 2 Throwers 5 Linemen 4 RR because ReRolls wont get cheaper. I would recommend having a look at the other Teams before using this.
I love to start my Khemri with 3 Guardiens, 2 Blitzer, 1 Thrower, 5 Skeletons and 3 RR. So i start with 12 players and can risk a foul and/or dont get outnumbered so fast if a regeneration fails.
Khemri has by far the coolest figures but I went for the Gazpez ones, cause they are more "oldschool" and easier to paint cause they dont have so many details. Just hoping NAF is goign to throw them into the tournament scene as soon as the Nurgle-19 pandemic is over.
Haha I love the Gaspez miniatures - only recently discovered them! I can't see the NAF pulling these teams from Tourneys, I think it'll just be Brets/Khorne/Slann that we lose!
Always wanted to play Khemri in my home League tiiiiiiime and time ago, also had in plan to run all the Cups (stunty included) and Dungeon Bowl too. Sad thing is that we haven't even finished the first League because one dude rage quitted after the first match and first loss (won against him 4 / 0 ) - the typical one that thinks he's better than everyone else - and the rest stopped randomly because of the sheep factor. Played only 7 matches and 1 was a forfeit. If next year I manage to get decent players that really want to play, will roll Khemri and get the minis from Punga Miniatures 👌 As someone already said, my starting roster would be: 4 TG / 2 Blitz / 1 Thrower / 5 Skeletons and 2 RR!
I know why the thrower is buffed. Games workshop is trying to encourage the passing game. But everyone including yourself are going to continue the running routes.
The idea of a Glade Queens dryad themed Tomb Kings appealed to me so much that I ebayed the miniatures to put it together.
Oh fantastic!! What are you using for the minis??
Seconded. When you finish this up, please post on reddit the final product. It sounds awesome.

Even though you seem to be the only person in the world to still use “hench” as a descriptor...l I really enjoy your content
Hahaha, thanks GoonBags, I guess I'm starting to show my age?! xD
Thanks for the reply , you do you lol .... and thanks for the great content , from across the pond 👍
Decay seems to be just a +1 to injury roll as opposed to rolling twice on CAS rolls in bb2020
Thank god for that, twice on the injury chart was overly bad.
Yup.
A great video again. I really love your contant. I think as you say the 4-1-2build is the best thing to start in a league.
Thanks Seb87 :D
You mentioned that Decay rolls twice on the injury chart, but I’ve looked at in the leaked rule book it states there is a +1 modifier to rolls on the casualty table. Have i missed something somewhere else?
You're correct. Brian was thinking of Decay in the previous version.
Oops!! Old habits die hard, thanks guys!!
4tg
2 blitzer
1 thrower
5 skellies
2 rr
that is the very best start

Leader, Lead thyself!! xD
Cool! I'm so glad this team is back.
So excited to be playing my Tomb Kings. I just picked up some Necromantic teams, and just use them for my models.
4 Golems?? That'll be a beautiful team!!
Clever workaround :D Nice!

Oh, I love that lore Tobias!! You'll have to drop us a pic of the team some time :D
So glad to see this since I backed the Death King Kickstarter.
Haha, I've got the Vortice KS on the way too! I thought I was going to have to get some extra TGs and run them as Black Orcs!
@@BoneheadPodcast I was thinking the same thing. Or that they might end up on a pile of shame.
That Punga miniatures kickstarter is incredible. I spent a long time eyeing up that team after watching this video. Shame I could almost build three GW plastic team boxes for that price. :(

OOh, Bar0n, that would be cool! I don't reckon they'll change much when they re-do the team, maybe 0-4 Blitzers as a little buff!?
@@BoneheadPodcast Yeah that could work. I just feel they need one piece that can reliably pick up the ball with Ag 3+.
just picked up punga Slaan and Tomb Kings not sure which to run in a league (6game season)
I think the 3 TG build was probably my favourite but I don't have the patience to build a khemri team sadly
Haha, when the minis come (and if we can get the miniatures before the AoS gang!) - this team will be great fun to run!
I know it doesn't make them a passing team, but I love that the Throwers can actually throw now :)
Haha, exactly! They're better at throwing than actually picking up the ball 😂
what about dedicated fans? in bb20 one should buy some at the start and with the fans, i dont know which build, right now I'm at 4 TG, 1 Blitzer, 3 RRs, 6 Fans, 5 Skellies
Decay does not work as you described any more, it's much more forgiving. Basically it's just a niggle for your tomb guardians. +1 to injury rolls.
Giving this a thumbs up to try and get it seen as wanted to point out same thing
