I'd argue throwers are more valuable than catchers and therefore should be prioritized over the catchers in protection in the backranks. First of all, catchers get dodge very fast, and the throwers are the only ones able to pass. If you lose the thrower(s), that's it, no more passing (safely).
Two games in a row I played stunty teams; rolled 1s all game, nearly board wiped, and had no way to keep them from walking away from my players with impunity. It's funny; the elves feel effective on paper with their 2+ AG, but they start with all of zero dodge, and on those games where you just can't get the ball through, nobody skills up. A little demoralizing.
I'll have to catch this properly when I get home man Elven Union teams are starting to peak my interest Think I prefer the more technical play style but that's only because I'm failing elsewhere! I'll have to throw my gaze over they're rosters again....elves normally annoy me But if I can get some of those AoS Witch masks......hide those pretty faces I'm sorted
Think its optimistic not to use blockpieces on o-line if you intend to make blocks there. 1 blitzer make most important block on the los and the other blitzes.
I feel that Elven Union has been hit the hardest by the "Nerf-Hammer" to the overall "Passing game". I never used the Thrower for anything but its access to leader, but the Catchers... Oh boy they did them dirty... What was amazing about EU (and the reason I played them) was that they had 4 Catchers (Move 8) which were able to catch AND (!) throw on a 2+ regardless of tackle zones. Crazy plays guaranteed, bullsh*t no other race could pull off.... Now they throw on 4+ (which is for desperate plays at best). To everyone telling me to use the Thrower: -> You do not want to carry the ball on a Move 6 piece as an Agility team. Thus from my point of view EU is now a pure "running" team. As a matter of fact I do believe they are now much closer to their dark cousins with weaker (armor) and less Blitzers in the starting roster.
I have the exact thought as You have. Thrower is an option for later team development. Rgisth now it is run first offence that is hard to stop. NoS on Catchers mean that handoffs while marked are an option and it is typically 2+/3+ to free themselves with either a dodge or blitz and go for glory. As for comparison to Dark Elfs. It is a valid point. Union is faster and more flexible (passing is can option for Blitzers and for thrower when he eventually makes to roster), bit softer and more reliable on dodge dice than Dark Elfs. I think that in the next league I would try to make one of my Blitzers a read-option passer, by giving him either accurate or pass as a second development (first I obviously a Dodge)
The ability to reliably pass with catchers may be gone, but it’s ridiculous to call this team a running team. The thrower is just as good as before and the whole team is still catching (half the play) with every model on a 2+. The thrower is there to throw the ball, and the blitzers can handle that role well in a pinch too. Use your thrower.
Unfortunately I have to agree with most of this, I always started with 1 Thrower but he pretty much never made it through the whole game. My linemen were my throwers but now cannot do this role due to their crappy passing stat. You need your Blitzers in an advanced role not sat at the back hiding with the ball, especially as they are unreliable in that role (in my experience a failed pass can turn into a lost game with elves). All elves got hit badly with the new passing stat, and didn't get any cheaper for it (most players got a -1 to passing, elves got -2). Other teams linemen getting worse at passing makes little to no difference as they didn't pass the ball anyway (unless desperate), for elves it was part of their playstyle. The current game appears to be a running game with the odd desperate pass mixed in, which makes it less fun in my opinion (although my bashy teams love this).

I was thinking of taking an extra thrower in my upcoming league and these lineups should work well with that too
My new favorite team to bb2016 at 2020💪, good jobs for channel
How do you set up on offence if the other team is much stronger?
How about some set ups videos for blood bowl sevens and some tips/tactic.

It happened to me yesterday against a Second season Dwarf Team
What's the software you use to do the pitch overlay?

What about when you have less players on the pitch, I think that’s some information that’s missing
Goblins, please!!!

True, but 3+ throws on Blitzers is as good as half the throwers nowadays, and they have passing access as seconday, could try using them instead maybe
