Thats very interesting, instead of taking money like a normal transaction she asks to hang. She makes memories, she makes connections, and she creates a strong impression. Its so easy to ask “can I buy that” and then forget the person who made it once you get it. She goes from “the girl i bought the jacket from” to “the girl that made this jacket for me.” Thats very meaningful
If you're an artist because you wanna make money, guaranteed you won't be doing it for long/people won't enjoy the pieces you produce. You gotta have love and passion at the core of everything you do when it comes to true artistry.
Soft Eyez maybe you should go try to find some substance in the world, obviously your lacking in evaluating the human experience. That’s why you make shitty beats you can’t “connect” to people. To be a true artist you need to be relatable. You my child are NOT relatable just another NPC.
y’all. she is still makin money off of this. she’s workin with big companies and clearly gets a lot of money to afford things for herself AND still pay the people she works with. her deciding to spend time with rappers instead of them paying her is a pretty great idea since it’s giving her more opportunities to make connections plus people pay a ton of money to meet with just one of these celebrities for like 5 minutes?? so. she big brained and that’s all
dude this is my cross stitch/embroidery dream! What an amazing artist and I love that she doesn't loose sight of why she started doing it, that the money is secondary and the love and passion comes first! You go girl!!
Wow her thought process truly flies in the face of some of the more popular Western ideologies (hustle for your bag, cash is king). What a luminous mind she has.
I'd love to work with or for her. I've made cross stitch embroidery since I was 10 years old and I love it. It's very relaxing for me and I'm always really fascinated with how the pictures turn out in the end depending on how you do it and what you're using.
Now this is a true artist! She doesn’t accept money but does take other people’s time, which in the industry could = loss of money for some artist by taking that hour to hang with her, but it’s worth it. This is awesome!
She doesnt charge these millionaire celebrities? 🤔 but rather just spend one hour with them? Riiigght.... "if you're good at something, never do it for free"
@@lexileichtle6867 I think it's dope as hell being able to give art to your favorite artists and experience a once in a lifetime moment as opposed to making it getting paid and that's it but I guess that's just the artist in me talking
i dont think she meant literally exactly one hour from each of them. it seems more like, maybe she gets tickets to see their show and gets a post on their instagram. maybe she gets to hang out backstage and talk with them for a few hours. Maybe they shout her out on twitter, maybe they give her some sort of business advice or other connections in the industry. it seems more like bartering rather than just "I give you a jacket, you give me one (1) hour"
It kinda seems like the comments are adressing the non-artist perspective that it's noble to make art for "experiences". Artists need to get paid to live, and people who can afford to give art away are harming ones who are struggling to sell. That aside, this woman clearly understands this, even if people don't get it.
One of my pastors friends was a hair dresser and when he gave someone a hair cut or something he would take favors, food, time, etc. Really anything, money too. If someone was good at growing corn they could pay in ears of corn, if someone could fix a hole in a roof then they could fix the hole in his roof.
being able to meet a celebrity, get a picture with them is free promotion for her and gets her known to a much larger audience that will pay money to get her items. So it's free for the people that inspire her, but for nobody else. That's how you pay your bills in a clever way.
Is she from Chicago! She meantioned CPS. If so, represent! She is very talented and I think if she tried doing a business, she will get so many clients.
Wow and to think I stopped cross stitching cause people made fun saying it was something old ladies do and only old ladies do. Ahhhhhhh, should've never stopped.
Idk this seems like a bizarre and unsustainable way to run a business. It also functions off using celebrity to entice companies not buyers. Running a favor only business and waiting for a company to white whale you cash to tide you over as you spend thousands in time and materials is irresponsible. It’s impossible anyone working for her is making a good stable salary. In the end these celebs get free stuff all the time, whatever she asks for in return outside of money is debatably profitable. Yes, use a model like this at first for attention but switch to taking on exclusive clientele, companies and possibly smaller luxury pieces for public sale or auction. She badly wants to ride off celebrity but that’s finite, especially rappers who pop up then disappear. I hope she gets a financial advisor because doing what she’s doing won’t pull through in hard times. Rich people are notorious for not coming through for people, especially luxury type items.

Jordan Tai hello
I agree
She has a good moral, valuing experiences and memories over cash, something she knows doesn't last long enough
Your absolutely right, something cool like hanging out wit your mentor is way more valuable than money.
If you're an artist because you wanna make money, guaranteed you won't be doing it for long/people won't enjoy the pieces you produce. You gotta have love and passion at the core of everything you do when it comes to true artistry.
I am srilankan. Please send me some crossstitch kits.
Until you have 4 kids and a house and or car to pay off.
She has amazing character. Truly one in a million. Oh and she’s an amazing Artist.❤️
crazy how you get all that from a 4 minute video
Soft Eyez crazy how you don’t get that from this 4 min video 🙄

She is incredibly talented! And a very clever businesswoman! And whoever did that painting of her in the background is really good as well!
dude this is my cross stitch/embroidery dream! What an amazing artist and I love that she doesn't loose sight of why she started doing it, that the money is secondary and the love and passion comes first! You go girl!!
She is the cross stitch rock star!
I applaud her for taking an age old craft and making it contemporary!
Wow her thought process truly flies in the face of some of the more popular Western ideologies (hustle for your bag, cash is king). What a luminous mind she has.
Good example of
"do what u love"
"Love what u do"
memories last forever, money doesn’t

Dominga Espinoza 😁🖤
Lisa then you must have a sad life
Way to go! Who wouldn’t love beautiful handmade personal clothing?
I'd love to work with or for her. I've made cross stitch embroidery since I was 10 years old and I love it. It's very relaxing for me and I'm always really fascinated with how the pictures turn out in the end depending on how you do it and what you're using.
So basically her cross-stitch business is not a business, but her "creative" livelihood, not her "life" livelihood
SIS! get your coin !
Can i just say that she is a QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like she doesn't take money and that is so thoughtful
P.s. I love 😍her shirt lol
The thread portrait she's working on (black woman with tall hair) is a Kehinde Wiley painting, nice rendition!
Now this is a true artist! She doesn’t accept money but does take other people’s time, which in the industry could = loss of money for some artist by taking that hour to hang with her, but it’s worth it. This is awesome!

It’s so cool how she doesn’t brag or give that rude attitude and doesn’t ask for money from them but asks to hang. That’s nice
Very cool. True creative, artist.
She doesnt charge these millionaire celebrities? 🤔 but rather just spend one hour with them? Riiigght.... "if you're good at something, never do it for free"
Lez it’s her decision, and you can’t judge her for that
@@lexileichtle6867 I think it's dope as hell being able to give art to your favorite artists and experience a once in a lifetime moment as opposed to making it getting paid and that's it but I guess that's just the artist in me talking
She isn’t doing for free. Time can be more valuable than money 💵
marketing bis

How do I join and make money
very inspiring
Charge the rappers they got loads of money! 🙄💕
Amazing art

Not valuing cash makes her a true artist in my opinion
Clearly Chicago, but they didn’t name the city once.
I love artists 🌹
Great work!!! I wouldn't waste my time on rappers but hey you do you ;)

How do experiences pay the bills?

did you not watch the video? she literally said she works with corporations and that’s how she’s paid
She crazy to not take money but to each is own
