Had two 720Ss including more recently a spider. Also had a 765LT spider and now a 750S spider. The 750 is much closer to the 765 than the 720S. Sounds better, steers better, turns better, quicker rack, much better user interface, and car play! It is a worthwhile upgrade.
ikr. it looks more detailed. 750s looks like a toy, especially in brighter colours. the back is more detailed which is VERY important, without which it feels way cheaper. as well as on the front, where the 720s has a better design on the bottom part.
I have a 720s spyder, and LOVE it. My favorite car ever owned. My 911 turbo a very close second. That said. The 750 is awesome, like the rear wing, and the sound, but not enough difference for me to trade in the 720s. I also like the dash in the 720s a lot better.
@@1bluensx you get like better interface apparently. Tighter steering new wing better sounding exhaust and someone said it’s closer to being 765 lt than 720s but idk.
@@1bluensx dont take my word too seriously as i dont even have a car myself but if you consider trading in it might feel different so be careful for a while as a lot of McLaren owners crash their cars quite frequently.
I have a 720S spider so I'm probably biased, but the 720S wins it in the looks department - it's basically perfect. Love the deeper sound of the 750 though, wondering if they both had the sport exhaust upgrade?
Launch control is not complicated on both cars I don't know why spent so long on that, I guess it was just a joke? But I have a 720s and the 750 has the same launch. You need to be in active driving mode, with the Power and Handling set to at least sport (the middle position on the switch) Then with foot firmly on brake, press launch button and which will then tell you to apply full throttle, the car revs up for about 2-3 seconds until it says "boost ready" and then you release brake and and off you go. If you do this one time its easily repeatable in under 5 seconds every time. It can be aborted a number of ways. 1. Remove foot off brake if you had not applied throttle yet. This will reset and you can start again. 2. If you remove foot off throttle (with foot still on brake) after boosting, it will stop the launch and you can try again. 3. If the throttle wasn't fully pressed the car will not build enough boost abort the launch and acutally go into neutral. You will then have to go back into drive mode before trying again. 4. If you keep boosting without releasing the brake the car will also stop reving and it will abort the launch, you have about a 2-3 second window after "boost ready" to release brake otherwise the car will abort for you.
People say McLarens don't sound good. They do, to me! Both these cars sound better than a 911 (992) Turbo S, in my opinion. And as to which sounds better in this comparison video, I think it's the 750S.
@@DrivenPlus this is why I never bought one. I went to Louwmans here in The Netherlands twice to consider a 720s but I never pushed through. I ended up with a 992 turbo s instead just because of the build quality and, well… these kind of stupidities McLaren always have.
@@tro3y maybe true, but I am not like those guys who can buy tens of great cars. I had a budget for one car in this segment and I took the reliability over fun, while the Turbo S is fun as well.
The 720s looks better than the 750.... All the 750 has is that exhaust note.. Sounds REALLY good. The 750 looks like it came before the 720.. Exterior wise it's the 720 all the way. Rear End looks better. I like both dash designs but have to pick 720 because moving the tracton controls to the dash left the center infotainment screen looking like a 1990s Compaq pda next to three elevator buttons. It looks REALLY REALLY cheap. They went too simple to the point of MEH..... The performance difference just doesn't matter. I will NEVER be able to run the cars hard enough to notice it. I've been to a TON of tracks with cars and bikes to know I run out of talent before the cars and bikes run out of performance. I thought the 765lt was going in the right direction. I was 100% expecting the 750 to follow that design. For me I would pick the 765lt then the 720s then a Huracan.... LOL I hope it's replacement comes out swinging with the 750 being a lackluster send off for ICE only models. Thanks for the vid!
750 vs 720 McLaren's ..OR Is my 320 thousand dollar car as good or better than my 465 thousand dollar car ? Does more money equate to better quality in a car. Can I ever stop pretending that I'm a rich guy ?
750s all day long..not much of an upgrade but it sounds sooooo much better
Totally agree! Sound is an incredible difference
It has a deeper sound which makes it seem so much more mightier
You can fix that for like $6k

Maybe it's because the 720S is a coupe. The coupe looks sleeker. If the 750S was a coupe too, they would probably look the same.
Agree.
I don't agree, but neither of them looks bad!

Is it worth the extra money though compared to a 720? Im struggling with that.
You can only compare each other for the price they were when new.
But you can pick up 2 720s for the price of a 750 in todays market…
No of course, today best price on 720S !!!!!!!
Just been watching on you tube faults with Portche 911 engine faults 5:27
It's hard to believe that the rear view camera quality is still so bad.
How did they f up the battery part?

The battery life scale seems taken from Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap. "27 is fully charged". "But it is only half full". "This scale goes to 27".
