      Well, for me the fact that I can hang the boxes on folding brackets is a deal breaker. I have 6 to 8 boxes stacked up on each rack in my van. Can't imagine having to remove 5 to 7 boxes to get to the bottom one. Shelves won't do it either as occasionally I do need full capacity of the cargo, then I just remove all the boxes, fold brackets and voilà! As to the better specs, I just don't need that, DeWalt boxes are more than good enough for me. All that makes them ideal for me, but I get that for others packout might just work out better. Cheers

I've worked on tools, with tools and around tools for most of my life, and belts seldom last a long time. Binding becomes the biggest issue with belt wear. Unless the tension is perfect, it won't last very long. I would design a impact drive that would have a chuck like a drill but the chuck key would be a 1/4 inch adapter so It could use standard impact driver bit and of course it would use 40volt makita batteries

    IMHO the Mikita 40V line is a gimmick. The batteries are the exact same size as their 20V variants, just wired so that you get twice the power with half the run time.

    I don't think they're going to convince as large of an audience as they would intend. At a certain point you are too heavily invested in batteries to afford a 3rd or 4th option that is not yet as expansive. I can't wait to see the performance and maybe someone like AvE getting their hands into it 🤔

    Re: Flex, what would I do? I'd build out a battery ecosystem, more than anything I'd like a battery system that I can charge with a solar panel as well as mains and then use the battery hub as a camping/home battery backup to charge portable electronics and power 120V appliances.

    Flex should totally outwit milwaukee in their packout system, also they should further develop oil impulse tech in impact drivers.

    I guess when your competition makes reference to "if it currently comes in Red they're gonna make a better one" it means you're doing something to be respected and feared. Watch out Bauer because Chervon is coming for ya! You can replace Bauer with Hilti if I misinterpreted what you were saying.

    How about they make the circular saws compatible with tracks? Like really how hard is it to offer this. Makita has a couple of saws with a tracksaw compatible base. The red guys don't even have a tracksaw.

    They couldn't make their "inline" a worm/hypoid!? Ergh!
    Also, you're comparing its width with a bigger diam circ saw, but they both have the same cutting depth?
    Can't wait to see it next to a Makita Hypoid!

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  3 года назад

      I think the worm drive would use up a lot of real estate around the arbor. That would eat up cutting depth. That crazy belt drive they came up with means they can get crazy deep cuts with a 6 1/2" blade, meaning more torque!

      FLEX was a German company that created the Angle Grinder, started in 1922. They worked with Porter Cable until it was sold to Black and Decker in 2004. FLEX was purchased by Chervon in 2013, and now Chervon is using the brand to launch an entirely new line of power tools.

  • @cckingdombuilder

    The only way to get people to switch from a tried and true platform and switch to a new brand with unproven results in the field and with unproven warranty service is to offer some type of trade in program and discount their tools as part of the trade. Even when a competing tool manufacturer comes up with a tool that beats my existing platform it’s never by enough to make me switch. Having a drill that drills 500- 1” holes vs 400 1” holes on a 5ah battery is not going to get people to switch. People that are heavily invested in tools (which I would say is their target) aren’t going to abandon their tools because another line is marginally better. They better have some Doc Brown type ingenuity going on at flex and some 1.21 gigawatt batteries because if not, me and Marty ain’t buying.

      Yup! Some people were able to purchase them early, and made videos about them. Unfortunately, we haven't found any that compare proper models. (ie. FLEX entry level drill VS Milwaukee FUEL Hammer-Drill) That doesn't help anyone make a decision, or speak to the viability of the line. But we're still watching! And of course, as soon as the Event is over on Monday night, you'll see professional reviews from the likes of Shop Tool Reviews, VCG, ToolsbyDesign, and more! Keep an eye out!
