Good job Joey, you've inspired me to give this malarkey a go. I've got myself a nice thermostatic soldering station and some other bits. SO far I've repaired 4x games console controllers. Next is to move on to fixing some drones and consoles!
I'd love to see you go through and repair something older and more obscure like some of the old walkmans or atari lynx handhelds something along those lines. Would be sick
I have seen chips sometimes fail short internally and burn up like that before, can make tracking things down a hell of a time if you don't have a good light or a close eye. I recall a control IC on a small SATA disk-on-module before that had the tiniest burn mark next to the surface - lots of time wasted trying to figure out why it would not mount as a disk before noticing that pinhole burn on the surface.
I've owned a switch with the orange screen issue for 3 odd years now. Just stuff a little extra pressure against that wifi chip and closed it up. It's happy haha not the 'proper' way to do things but I've gotten a lot of great use out of the device :)
I would like to heard your theories about what caused some problems. Like the wifi chip was in a weird situation. I like these thoughts cause they can prevent some problems for others
- Spoiler Saver Ooooh a SD Card! Bonus! You really know about those consoles by now. Nice one! This should give you a really nice profit! Nice profit on the disc PS5 tho!
that broken chip, seemed like it was broken in some impact, i didnt saw you found the piece it fell off of it, perhaps jsut burned? weird failure, with also the fan failing, perhaps the chip overheated?

I always find it fascinating how components are getting so incredibly small and dont have any internal faults.

Paused the video for some work. When came back to resume, I laughed my ass off. (PS. Paused at 02:11)

Well thats a new one. I wonder what happened to the little chip.
Screen is definitely yellow 😂
Hey hey hey I have an asus H81m cs motherboard and it got bricked by my old power supply unit what can I do about that problem please let me know
I dread to think how small and fragile the one on the Switch 2 will be. Jesus H Christ, that's insane.
I'm going to guess, the fan failed on the switch lite, causing the unit to overheat and the wifi IC to blow a chunk out
That chip was damaged by the pick and place unit during manufacturing
Do you buy the stencil or make them?
Earliest I've ever been to one of these 😂
