      Thanks for the comment!!! As for the analysis, thank you for the feedback 🙌🏼. My background is Wall Street Finance with 20 years of experience so, that is how I approach my analysis. It is all about Fundamentals, 3-statement Financial Models culminating in a DCF Valuation and let the chips fall where they may. People are very opinionated on the stock and I mentioned the positives and negatives, it's up to the viewers to make their own choices, but I try to do my part by being objective and providing a rigorous analysis. Have a great day 😃👍🏼

    Nice Analysis. Should get some great price action soon. We keep talking about 10x long term, but this can 1 to 3x this year alone. Major buying opportunities with minimal downside. The dow side at this point is just based of big money shorting it.

    Very solid analysis 👌
    Only thing I would add is ref their unsecured personal loans - the WA FICO score for their PL customer is 740+. All "Prime Plus" and above.
    In the three years following commencement of the GFC, delinquencies for this cohort of borrowers increased less than 1%, "Super Prime" increased 0.3% 🙂.
    They would fare much better in a recession akin to the GFC of '07/'08 than bears would expect!

This is incredibly helpful information and I agree that it makes me cross off the “negative” of 70% unsecured loans in their exposure. These are VERY high quality borrowers, as you indicated. Hopefully we don’t come anywhere close to another GFC anytime soon!!! Have a great day 😃👍🏼

    2 things i noticed about sofi which is why im buying a bit whenever its below 6.50.

Also, the CEO bought about $200K of stock at an average price of $6.48 and I don't know anyone willing to flush $200K down the toilet. Great job on the valuation! One thing you didnt really touch on was shorts. Im curous your thoughts on all the shorting on this stock and how i/ why ts being pinned down even on positve earnings. When there is bank type fear ( or excuse ) wallstreet treats SOFI as a bank. When its a tech type fear ( or excuse ) with regulations etc wallstreet treats SOFI as Tech company. But everyone misses the best part of this it seems and that is diverese income streams isolating it from some downside if certain prodcuts decline. Im all in on this one 92k shares @ 7.12 even have a little under half on margin so i'm a beleiver!

    • @kenfreemancfa
      @kenfreemancfa  19 дней назад +1

      Thanks for the comment!!! In looking at the data from Nasdaq, short interest is 186mm shares or 17.5% of the outstanding shares and based on avg daily trading volume of 36.7mm, it would take a little more than 5 days to cover. At this point, considering the limited downside shown by the analysis, it is more risky being short than long and if there is a positive surprise then, we could see a short squeeze and a GameStop type of pop in the covering. I could honestly do an entire video on the short aspect of the stock alone. It appears, like you mentioned, that Wall Street treats SoFi as a bank or a tech company when it fits the narrative. As long as you have a long term focus, you appear to be in good shape at 7.12. The people who are very salty in the comments are probably in above $10 so, they are angry at the drop, but once the company reports positive GAAP earnings, it will get on the radar of Institutional Investors. Good Luck and thanks for your insights!!!😃👍🏼

      Thanks for the comment Cooper!!! Yeah, SoFi has a 10x upside relative to downside, BUT it is still integrating 2 major acquisitions that occurred in early 2022 and it has a very high exposure to unsecured personal loans (70%) which can cause major problems if / when the economy slows so, there are multiple moving parts which makes it hard to have a ton of confidence in the stock.😁👍🏼

I would not be happy if I had owned SoFi at the IPO price, the all time high of $25+ or even at $10-12, BUT right now the analysis showed $1 downside to $10 upside so, while there is volatility, it is a safer entry point. And the fact that the CEO just bought $200,000 of the stock at $6.48 is a pretty solid positive indicator 😃👍🏼

    My research shows QFIN with a 3 Billion Market Cap and a 16 Billion Revenue. What is happening here? It seems they a based China company but what's with the disparity?

    • @kenfreemancfa
      @kenfreemancfa  21 день назад

      Thanks for the comment!!! Chinese companies tend to trade at a discount relative to similar US companies because investors do not have the same level of oversight and protection as they do in the USA. The major difference from a business model perspective is that QFIN also offers loans to small & medium sized enterprises (SMEs), while SoFi is solely focused on individuals and not businesses. In addition, though the business is similar, it is a completely different market economy exposure (China) so, you are really betting on the power of the Chinese consumer and the economic data coming out of China has not been as strong as in the past. Hopefully this helps!!!🤓👍🏼

I have used Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Key Bank, Ally Bank and E-Trade and have had good and bad experiences with all of them, but I feel a little more secure using larger well-known institutions. “Online Mediocre Bank” doesn’t sound as sexy as FinTech, lol 😂 My only guess is that the average SoFi customer is a younger and “anti-Big Bank” kind of person, definitely a much smaller niche for sure 👍🏼

I’m happy to do a video like that for sure, but I’ll probably wait until I have more Subs so that it’s not just you and 50 other people who want to watch it 😉 To give you a high level on how everyone should invest, these are my thoughts…if you have a 401K and IRA, max those out (23K for 401K & 7K for IRA in 2024) and invest in VOO (Vanguard S&P500 total return). That has returned an average of 10.1% over the last 100 years (no, that’s not a typo). Every professional investor / money manager is judged based on VOO as a benchmark and 98% UNDERPERFORM over a 10-year period. Once you’ve done that then (and only then), look at individual stocks. I take a Warren Buffett / Charlie Munger approach…buy GREAT companies at FAIR prices, hold them forever and let compounding work its magic for you. Lmk if that makes sense or if you have any questions 🤓👍🏼

    Why do so so many you tubers make videos for years now, on this crappy stock that is down 34 percent for the year?!! So many more opportunities out there and people have been buying this stock and unfortunately left with the bag?

      Thanks for the comment!!! I can't speak for other RUclipsrs, but the only reason I analyzed SoFi is because it is heavily searched and I wanted to see what the story is. Are there better stocks to own? ABSOLUTELY!!! Go check out my previous videos and you will see many that are much better / safer / less volatile. I don't know how many people are actually doing a Wall Street Fundamental 3-statement Financial Model versus reading charts, but I always go conservative with my analysis and let the chips fall where they may. 😃👍🏼

      lol, short term investors are so funny. Sofi is a young company that had to transition away from its main business (student loans).
      Now we’re still in a high inflation environment with high interest rates and an unfavorable macro environment….
      Sofi has a very high short interest that will soon change the more GAAP profitable quarters they report, while Sofi is less than 4 months away from reporting a full year of GAAP profitability.
      Just keep thinking the stock will not rally and you’ll soon regret not loading up on cheap shares.

      All great points!!! Shorts will get blown up when the stock moves the other way. Like I said in the video, upside significantly outweighs downside at these levels 🚀

    Next earnings will stink and Noto will give the excuse that the company is transitioning, etc. Since this stock is hated it will see a significant collapse. This is just my opinion, I might be wrong. I don’t like this stock, calling it AWS of banking is a joke.

      Thanks for the comment!!! This is a very volatile stock and the reason I did this analysis is because it is heavily searched on YT so, I had no opinion coming in, one way or the other. People who have been burned obviously dislike the stock and people loading up think it's going to fly. The Technisys acquisition is to try and become the AWS of banking, but they are far from it at this point. The analysis shows more upside relative to downside, but the volatility is what scares me. Noto bought $200K of stock and that is a vote of confidence, but now the Company has to show the market that it is on the right track. Next earnings call will be interesting for sure, have a great weekend😃
