A mod I'm using in my current campaign, and I can't recommend enough, is Vastly Improved Feats. 30 hours in and I'm having a blast. I don't think it's perfectly balanced, especially with the new feats it adds, but it's allowed me to choose feats I wouldn't have noticed before because I was too focused on picking the same two, like ASI and Alert. That being said, I use it alongside Initiative d10, FeatEvery3Level, all the equipment mods from GraphicFade, Tactician Enhanced, Tasha's Feats, among others. I'm not sure how the experience might change with or without these mods, but even with the vanilla game as the base, I think it's a mod worth checking out.
Not many have highlighted Fade's mods on YT yet. Cool to see you have! Was wondering if you've already found any new build possibilities? I'm finding it hard to fit in this new gear into standard BiS per act loadouts.
oohh these are some great ones! thinkin i wanna do a cosmic sorceror build with some buffed up enemies and fade's items! always love seeing your showcases, i like how you prioritize game balance but aren't beholden to it. your reviews give great insight in how i want to use them!
Can I suggest for the items also "Ancient Mega Pack ( random loot)" , it is a very nice mod who adds so many new items, well balanced, reawrdd and so on. But the most interesting thing is that everything ha become random, so even the item from basic game now has changed postion, and this avoid the making programmed builds as you wish, and forcing you to change style and plans.
have you seen the oakheart sentinel mod? it's kind of like a full spellcaster beastmaster with druid's spell list. Which isn't the most balanced thing ever, at least it's still not swords bard though what's interesting about it is one of its subclasses is fully poison/accid themed. It's a blast to play it with the poison items. and if i'm being honest, being a full spellcaster really suits the beastmaster. For a class that was abusing sharpshooter anyway this doesn't even feel stronger, just a sidegrade with a shift in identity
Has anyone found a solution to creating a Vampiric open handed monk build? Going vampire changes the monk’s attack to a very limp claw attack. Are vampires not able to make a fist?
i think its genuienly great that you still provide spoiler warnings even though the game has been out for a while - lots of people wouldnt bother with that anymore but I think its so great for new players still :)
Suprised you chose Eloquence over the Dance bard mod as i've tried both and think the dance bard one has much more to offer than the Eloquence in terms of what's being done on the mod. Also no Planescape 5e mod highlight? That's one of the best mods to drop on console recently and is a must i feel.
iirc when I tried the dance bard mod it had some serious bugs that made me not want to recommend it, but that was a while ago and I don't remember what those were lol

I just really wish there was a way to internally mark some mods as cosmetic only, such that they did not shut off achievements. I’m itching to try out mods but I’m just not ready yet 😢
Thanks for the mod reviews, always very helpful. i’n curious what you think about the other random equipment mod family Randomized Equipment Loot. Its complicated because of several versions but in principle is very versatile if using the REL_SE option. But in practice it can be kind of difficult to get optimal results. Maybe you have some views about how to get the most out if it? Either way any mod reviews are most welcome!
I jump from 100% vanilla on console to insanely 3rd party modded on PC where my companions are completely controlled by AI. Sometimes they make genius moves that I never would have thought of in a million years and other times they make the dumbest moves ever imaginable. Its fun either way.
iirc sumradagnoth has also a combined subclasses for barbarians and monks. and then on nexusmods (not yet on the ingame mod manager) he has added a bunch of ranger subs as well.
@@PurGePose The ranger one is still being worked on from what I seen. Usually his combined subclasses don't drop till he has about 6-7 subclasses chosen so we probably won't get the ranger ones on the mod manager till spring (think the turnaround for his new subclasses at least going off nexus is a couple of weeks to a month). Currently he has 5 out of 6 or 7 ranger subclasses made so we're close
I see the mod author for the fighter subclasses has ones for barbarian and monk. Any recommendations for the other classes (out of the singles you mentioned later in the video). I’ve not played much tabletop so being able to play more of the 5e subclasses would be awesome. I’m on pc so doesn’t need to be in the ingame mod manager
Twilight Cleric is missing, if you want to make a Sword of the Moon maiden Dame Aylin build. Take a dip of paladin or fighter for great weapon fighting and you are good to go.
Is there a Console Mod that makes it less punishing to do a Dark Urge play through? You lose access to some good Act 3 stuff if you do the bad thing in Act 2.
Cheaters ring can just spawn you the items you miss if it's bothering you that much but honestly, why choose the evil option if you don't wanna lose access, durge isn't meant to be just an evil run

@ My original point still stands and that how is anyone supposed to really know without having the patch to test. That's why the stress test is being done beforehand. It's a certainty that some mods won't work as intended but to know which one without havinf the patch to test is guesswork atp
That's usually due to script extender needing to be updated. Since these mods aren't using that, they may be updated much faster. Patch 8 is also likely not going to drop until March or April. So if you're itching to play now, I'd say go for it. You have time.

Samurai class looks like it will work for my own personal play style. I want to increase my party limit size with my own personal characters but not all of them have to have some crazy special abilities. I want to build a party that includes at least 4 elves for a Middle Earth sort of vibe. If I have 4 elves, two of them will be kinda like soldiers. I'd like them to have basic, less specialized abilities. Not all characters need to have extra special abilities for my play style. Just a few "unique" ones do.

Not that I want to give Larian any ideas (plus I'm sure they wouldn't do it anyway), but: Those mini-monster pets are exactly the kind of stuff you would expect a lesser developer to sell as DLC. Nice to see we can get them as free mods in this game. I'd probably use those if they could sit on my characters' shoulder - like a pirate's parrot. :)

Rogue Extra Attack makes rogues playable as a single class. I've used it and its simple, effective and balanced. It's what rogues should be.
