They focus more on SAE pretty much across their lineup because they're an industrial brand. Domestic makers of cars may have gone metric (makes it easier for the international market) but machinery and bridges and all that are still getting SAE to this day, plus there's plenty of old stuff with SAE.
I've never had that issue but i imagine some annoyed reviews on amazon must be from those who recieved fake products. Someone told me Starrett has a problem with this, but not what you'd think - their most counterfeited product is their hacksaw blades - which i have used and enjoyed using. It's a big problem all over, i think.
My first time visiting your website; I saw this video and watched it. I'm guessing that might be Harry J. Epstein and his son? I had to chuckle, as I can relate immediately to Mr. Epstein Sr. because he is wearing an army surplus m65 jacket liner as a sweater and sitting at a 1950's vintage steel desk with matching chair. I had a vietnam era m65 jacket with liner, it was a great winter coat. And I now have 5 of those steel desks in my workshop. They are arranged along 2 walls, with my workbench built on top of them. I use the drawers for tool storage. Those desks are highly undervalued by the younger generations, in my opinion. They will last forever, and never break no matter what you put in them. Just this week, I received an order of two Vessel Impacta screwdrivers from Amazon. When I opened the factory box, it contained two old Craftsman Phillips screwdrivers. the curious thing was that the box also contained items sold by Amazon directly. This made me wonder is Amazon sending me a returned product, is an employee in the warehouse stealing, or is the third-party vendor deliberately committing fraud?
They're currently dealing with a lawsuit regarding alleged patent infringement for the vortex tips so I wouldn't expect it to be super soon or perhaps ever.
The patent they're alleged to be infringing is 11007583. IPR2023-00473 Viking Drill & Tool v Hongjia Wang. They both recently petitioned for oral argument after the usual flurries of pretrial paper-pushing so they're still in the heat of it.

Yes. American manufacturers need to tell us they are USA made. Some items come at a premium however some USA made is affordable.
