  • This is the second #Seiko #Spork I have owned in my watch collecting journey, and this one is a keeper for me! Since this is the second time I have owned this rather rare Seiko, I thought I would give you a list of four different things I wish I knew before buying this beastly watch.
    I hope you enjoy this owners review of the elusive Seiko Spork.

    Hey Blake, as a SEIKO Fan boy I have never heard or seen this rare icon until today. SEIKO has countless of hidden, unknown GEMS that hardly get much publicity.
    I love the dial above all else.
    Thanks again Blake.
    Love your content also and am sure your channel will blossom judging by your energy and passion and content.
    Cheers!

    Polished sides = someone polished it to hide scratches. Mine has vertical brushed finish on the sides. Japan vs. non Japan is an urban legend when it comes to build quality/components. It's a Seiko. If there would be one thing that I expected from this list of what I wish I knew before buying would have been the non-wind non-hack aspect of the watch , Mine will stay with me forever, I love this watch and my SKX's will go before this one ever does.

      Yeah, I found out the sides should not be polished! And yeah, they are bad ass!!

    Best Seiko ever!! Perfect explorer/pilot type dial with sword hands blacked out in the centre.
    Bracelet is usual Seiko fare with pressed clasp and the worse divers extension I have seen.
    Sapphire crystal and Seiko's Lumibrite to top it off.
    I'm going to assume it has a 4R15 movement.
    Overall a great package.

    • @threehandhunter
      @threehandhunter  2 года назад

      LOL The clasp is just what you'd expect with an older Seiko (unfortunately) but you are right, it is overall a great package and nothing quite like it now (or ever) in the Seiko lineup!

    A couple of things. They should not have polished sides. They come brushed vertically from the factory. Additionally, the nickname Spork is based on the model number "SRPK043K1." If you rearrange the characters, you spell "SP0RK." I bought my K2 (rubber strap) with a rare Miltat oyster bracelet in 2012.

    Excellent video - and great intro music too (KLF/Todd Terje influence???). One thing - I think the case sides should be verically brushed from the factory, with a polished bevel transition between the front and back faces of the case - at least it is on the K version. Never knew there was a J version - cool catch!
