Beautiful watch, Blake. Love the grey Nato. From a serviceability standpoint, the 6106 is relatively simple to service and there are plenty of spare parts out there should something go wrong. I had the opportunity to service and restore a US Marine's Vietnam era combat worn Seiko 6105-8110 Willard a few months back. What an honor. These Vietnam era Seikos are very special. Enjoy. Regarding the quickset Day, the 6106 uses the crown. Push in slightly to advance the date, push in a bit more to advance the day. You might pull the crown and make sure there is no dirt or crude built up in the crown recess preventing the crown from moving toward the case over the case tube far enough to advance the day. Otherwise, the crown stem may be a bit short. John S

My Dad had an original one, he got it while serving in Vietnam. He always wore it until one day he cracked the crystal. He sent it for repairs at a local shop. The store burned to the ground a few days later. They offered to replace it but he said it was irreplaceable. I assume it was the memories associated with it.
I have a Seiko SNK381... it's probably the closest thing I'll ever have to the originals but I still Lourve the heck out of it... So much so, that I placed a Casio Royale AE1200 Leather strap on it... Fits it to a T. 😁
That's a great idea! I just ordered my snk381k1 and I've also got a casio ae1200wh. I ordered a seiko nylon band for the 381 but I may try it out with the casio strap as well. Thanks for the idea!
@andromedagodit2492 I did it! And it looks phenomenal. I'm not the biggest fan of metal bracelets, they pull my arm hairs to the point it looks like someone shaved my wrist, and nylon straps aggravate my skin so I'm glad to see that the rubber straps hold true and still look historically authentic
What an awesome watch Blake! I think it's pretty cool that it is all stainless steel. Your video made me wear my Seiko SNKS79 again, which looks like a 62mas had a baby with a MACV-SOG Seiko. (IMHO still one of the best dials one can find on a Seiko 5) And also it started another hunt ... for another Seiko 😀 What do you think of the Praesidus Rec-Spec?
First of all, I think the SNKS79 is great. Been looking for one of those too! Praesidus seems cool but I have never handled one. I’d like to in the future as well. Hang onto that Seiko5. Future classic 👍

BTW the SNXS79 (sorry not SNKS79) is currently in stock at Jomashop and the price looks pretty fair to me. I am hunting for an SNK381 now ... and I bet you know why 😀
@@threehandhunterBlake i just found the following info about setting day and date on the 6619, maybe this works on your watch too: Adjusting the day and date on vintage Seiko watches like this never gets old or boring. A light push of the crown quickly changes the date, and you can adjust the day by pushing the crown in a bit further. The 6119C offers the day in two languages. There is also the 6119A movement with a single-language day wheel. Found this in Fratello Watches
