- Another orchestrion roll that you can play in the Hideaway.
This was interesting to arrange, because the piece has really noticeable bass notes, but they're also not played by the piano, or at least not played by one piano. I was tempted to just not include them, but I have this problem where I hate getting rid of notes. So instead I've written many of them in as grace notes. Because the midi is computer generated, they're probably played a bit faster in the video than most people (including myself) could play them in person, so just keep that in mind. An actual performance would probably have to take more liberties and freedoms, even if you stuck to the same notes.

This is not a video of me actually playing, but a MIDI file rendered using Misescore. I do play through my arrangements to make sure they are possible, but I am extremely self conscious and have terrible stage fright. I hope one day to gain the confidence to post videos of my own playing, but for now I am starting out small and posting these sort of “proof of concept” videos. I am still new to arranging and very inexperienced, so feedback is welcome! This channel is intended to help me learn and grow, and maybe become a bit more brave! But it is not intended to be a tutorial, nor is it intended to frame me as some virtuoso piano player, because I’m not. You're so sweet! I can't really take credit for it though; I played through the piece myself to make sure it was playable, but the sound here is computer generated from a midi. Every time I try to record myself playing I shrink up and forget how to move my fingers!

Yes! It definitely is possible, but it's also not easy. Also, please keep in mind that THIS is not actually a recording of me playing it. It's just the midi file that I used to arrange. I tried to edit it in places to make it more realistic sounding, like increasing the time it takes to play a grace note, but playing it in person will likely sound a tad more unrestrained. Like you'd probably play around with tempo a bit more or take longer pauses for the grace notes.
