If Embiid was healthy they would’ve beaten them, but unfortunately he was really banged up. His rebounding wasn’t anywhere close to full capacity and that really hurt them neither was his defense or rim protection. He also couldn’t make shots for half the series that he almost always makes. Tobias also really hurt them in this series. If we had better pieces for his salary or a better piece they also wouldn’t have lost. That said Knicks didn’t have Randle either but they almost play better without him anyways 😂

As a fan, this year I'm not blaming Embiid. His effort is not in question. He was amazing in that game and exceeded expectations when you consider his health.
Maxey was not having a good game and he was too focused on getting calls, Nick Nurse had idiotic lineups out there in big time moments, Tobias Harris is not a threat and did absolutely nothing in 29min of play. The team in general is too focused on out-talenting other teams instead of having an actual offense with schemes and counters. The defense only ever peaks in desperation situations instead of staying tough and consistent throughout.
Should've never got rid of Matisse, we need to remove Tobias Harris from the team, sign more athletic players that can rebound and defend, and stop making so many excuses. Stop relying on the refs to win you the game

Maxey gets plenty of chances, they both can and have scored big. Both get shots in the clutch. They're building well with their two stars. Its like Jokic and Murray. It is asinine to suggest Maxey be the face of the franchise. He can't consistently create offense for himself or others in the half court. He needs to learn how to change speeds instead of always going 100 mph. His whole offense is shoot a 3 off a screen or go 100 mph at the basket, without seeing how the play is developing, often leading to a highly contested shot, or block. After blowing past his defender he should scan the court for soft spots to drift into and shoot middys or floaters.
Embiid tends to disappear at times. Part of it is the sixers don't run enough sets to get him the ball in his best spots, the mid and low block. This leads to him drifting away from the basket, where he can be guarded by smaller guys. An example of this is game 6 when Embiid had Josh Hart fronting him. Instead of running a set to feed him like Purdue does to Edey, they try to lob him the ball and Hart tips it.
The other part is Embiid not having the mentality to punish people on the block. When he does, he is dominant.

The Sixers led by Maxey would not have been a play-in team had the team had even a halfway decent back-up big. Paul Reed and Bamba were borderline trash in terms of a post presence. I agree with SAS. Give Maxey a 3 and D wing (Mikal Bridges) and a post-presence (Bam Adebayo) type and this team could roll. Joel is a great player but he gets hurt a lot. Let the team build around Maxey and anything you can get from Joel is just gravy.
