- Immunoglobulin A, or IgA, is a major class of antibodies found in secretions like tears, saliva, mucus, and notably, colostrum or breast milk. It is secreted in a dimeric form, that is, as two antibodies connected by a joining chain. IgA provides immunity at mucosal membranes like the GI and respiratory tracts, and is importantly made by Peyer’s patches in the intestines.

Glad it was helpful!
This is SO helpful! I love the pictures, they make these complex concepts click instantly!
thank you! i have a 3 page research paper due next Monday. I chose to research Failure of Passive Transfer. The visuals help a lot.
Great video, even if you have obviously never spent time on a farm.
If my water troughs had things growing in them I'd be embarrassed and have unhealthy animals.

Are there capsules for adults to take so that they won’t catch the coronavirus? Also, I have a kidney transplant. Will this affect whether I would reject my kidney if I had this colostrum in my system?

Does this kind of mnemonics work for all the processes in our body?
Hi there i have a question about the different types of IgA blood tests? I recently tested tTg IgA blood test to test for celiac auto immmune disease which i understand if its less than 14 U/mL then its negative for celiac but more than 15 U / mL is positive.... my test results came back 0.. saying i dont have any count at all.... what does that mean?
What did it mean?
@@ilyasjamei1413 did u also get a 0 count?
@@withlove1245 no, I am a medical student and I want to know more about your case please.
@@ilyasjamei1413 i never really got a direct answer. From what i could understand was that a zero count means the body doesnt have IgA antibodies and since your born with it and there is nothing that can replicate it, it turns a celiac test postive also along with having another automimmune disease called selective IgA deficiency.... dont know if its true
Ghb.
JustFab..thanks Kimora
