      Spoken like someone who has never driven one 😂
      In reality it's not nearly as distracting as you think. The speed and other system indicators are right there in your peripheral just like a front mounted cluster. You still have to glance down to check speed with a front mounted cluster. This is no different. Except instead of glancing down you're glancing right.

    • @catcityhulk
      @catcityhulk Месяц назад

      @stephenpatterson8056 it's actually a shorter distance to look, meaning less time your eyes are off the road. Your rear view mirror, road, and speed are in line.

    • @stephenpatterson8056
      @stephenpatterson8056 Месяц назад

      @catcityhulk That makes sense. All I know is I don't even daily drive one. My fiancée has a 23 Model 3 and just after driving it a couple times it became second nature for me. No more awkward or unsafe than any other vehicle. Even my G70 equipped with typical guage cluster and heads up display

    The glass cover doesn’t even open up! They could have at least made this a large open sunroof or retractable convertible.
    You forget to mention range reduction in extreme heat and cold weather. At 100 degrees, figure 31% loss.
    You forgot to mention no level 2 charging for condominium owners nor apartment dwellers.
    Plus a large screen does take your focus off the road. No hydraulic systems, all semiconductors in thousands which are expensive, all covered for 2 years.
    The 30% range loss due to battery degradation is excluded from the manufacturer’s warranty. So get a deficient battery with a 20% loss, you’re screwed!

    We test drove a 3 when my kids were still babies. We ended up with a 2019 Chevy bolt because it had more cargo space than the 3.
    I mean, the salesman almost freaked out when I forced the stroller (city select) into the trunk & forced the trunk to close.
    And then having my wife & the 2 baby car seats in the back was a very tight fit for my wife. She’s 6’ tall.
    A 3 is not ideal for a new young family. An X would’ve been perfect, but that was way too expensive at that time.

    As a Tesla owner, yeah I can pay up to $18-20 to supercharge my tesla, but we get about half real-world range as a gas equivalent. But if cost is a big concern, a Prius is just as good. Of course it won’t be as fast, refined, or quiet as a Tesla, but if saving money on gas is a major concern, get a hybrid. My car insurance is $70 more a month than my ‘21 Prius. On road trips it’s very similar cost-per-mile in terms of “fueling”. Unless you’re strictly charging at home it’s worth it.
    If you’re an Uber or can only charge at superchargers, you’re not saving money. Don’t get me started on the depreciation 😝

    I seriously just can't get over how uncomfortable it is. My model Y is so comfy so I was honestly shocked when I tried the model 3 out. Looking to get a model s instead now, just hope I don't run into the same issue.
    Maybe it's not an issue for other people but I'm 6'3 165lbs and my knees are up in the air, and they have no support from the center console so the edge of it focuses right on the side of my upper shin. and since the seat is low to the floor it's hard to get a comfortable position as I almost have to move the seat back far enough to where I now have to stretch out my arms to reach the steering wheel. This wouldn't be an issue if the steering wheel was able to move closer to you, but it doesn't pull out too much.
    Just something to consider before you land on the model 3. Definitely try and consider what years of driving in that seat will feel like as you test drive the car.

      @@You_Know_me150 nope, I drive the shit outta it. I've owned it 13 months and have 19000 miles on it, which is well above average mileage for any passenger car. I primarily charge at home, the electricity rate where I live is $0.0542 per KWH during the summer months and $0.048 per KWH during the winter months. Residential electricity rates are exponentially cheaper than super chargers.

      Yeah but remember that you can go almost twice as long with a full tank than a full charge depending on the car

      @@bruh7336 my girlfriends sonata has a range of 504 miles, my model 3 has 360, Soo that's not "almost double". I'll concede that when we're going on a road trip and we just wanna get there as quick as possible, the Tesla is a bit of a drag, but in terms of cost... Even using a supercharger, the Tesla is way cheaper. Hell, this last weekend, my GF went on a road trip to St. Louis from our home in Iowa, she had the option of taking Our Durango RT, her Sonata, or my Model 3. She chose the Tesla. 670 miles round trip, it cost her $52 and she admits she was going 15 mph over the speed limit the whole time and burning up the juice like it was cool. For you to go 670 miles for $52 in an ICE car, you would have to get 40 MPG's; which is doable in a Prius I suppose. I could sit here all day and do math comparing and contrasting time vs. money but bottom line is, I would much rather be hauling ass in a Tesla than striving for maximum economy In a Prius.

    Okay so I hate electric cars, storage isn’t something I need to worry about as I’m not hauling a bunch of stuff only a regular amount of groceries, and the screen is dangerous as I have to get through like 2-4 menus while looking at the screen not the road to just change ac (I know there’s autopilot but autopilot sucks and you still have to pay attention to the road because if there’s any corrections you need to make you still need to be fully aware of the road so at that point why have autopilot in the first place) when I could have a physical knob that I can just turn without looking at
