First class comment..
Everything is relative.
The ball was out...
I watched it live at the time...It was like the best game ever... Martina thought she was going to win, and behaved like a bitch...Steffi saved like 2 or 3 match points and then won the game... it was like the best lesson ever.
After that Martina loss matches Her ego was broken her attitude in this match was so bad !
HIngis 99, Mac 84, same story. They were about to win RG easily but lost their concentration for a stupid detail.
Damn, Martina looks HOT here!! I love the way she is wearing her hair in this match. Cute, cute, cute!!!!
Yes😍
Again I say Hingis was right, and Steffi knew it
the ball was out
John Feeney You are right.
John Feeney right or not, you don't risk to lose it all when you are 1 set lead and 2-0 in a grand slam final... It's a hard work to reach this... and you have to be stupid or young to behave like this which was the case. Pity. Graf like Federer have always been true champions because they kept calm in crucial moments.
Graf is a dickhead
@UCxEYs-jffS0YYTFbDa8EbQA You're a dickhead! She's one of the greatest ever!
Carreer Hingis end here :P
Yes that's true...she's too arogant, too confident, she's act like no one can defeat her. And in the end she ended up with only 5 grand Slams. What a pity
@@erikkusuma2206 Hingis career ended with 25 Grand Slams alltogether in Singles, doubles and mixed
@Der Hinko i mean in single title.
Yes and God say it was good an it was good.
@@erikkusuma2206 yeah arrogant bitch.
I don't think that see lost control at all...she kept her cool under a LOT of Criticism and did what she thought was right.....she stood up for what she thought was a good and fair shot
she wasnt called the "swiss miss" for nothing.
I Love Hingis.:)
that is why I say poor Martina.
Better to name this video: WHEN THE CROWD AND UMPIRE LOOSE CONTROL, CORRECTNESS AND FAIRNESS..
Quite funny to argue that 12 years later!
2:54 haha Hingis flips the bird to the umpire...LOVE IT
What a pity that IT WAS INSIDE❗❗❗😡
Maybe Hingis acted like a child but SHE WAS RIGHT to get angry, was the refree blind or something⁉
I've been so sorry for Hingis, she was just a teenager who can't handle with her emotions... 😔😔😔
+Illya Kuryakin yup favouritism is wrong plus she's a teenager I act above her but y'all were probably living with ur mom at her age doing nothing
It wasn't right to have a tantrum. She could have still put up a fight but she got herself so upset over this that she lost it
Tomris ÇETİN i've seen in a game...i forget which one..but steffi has through the same case..but she just threw out (sign) her hand and never act like this
Was just teenager? Hingis was number 1 player at that time. Steffi and other player never acted like that at the same age. So being 18 was not an excused for being act like that. Sorry if my English is not good
@@erikkusuma2206 18 is 18 if number one or not. Martina is a human with emotions and the crowd was so rude to this charming young lady, i understand her reactions!
WOOOH! YEAH!! tenis is awsome
what was the final score in this match? Hingis lost in 3 sets or 2?
Hingis lost to Graf in 3 sets 6-4, 5-7 and 2-6. I watched it LIVE on TV 21 years ago. Super duper drama, though !
@@jefftottenham1191 i appreciate the 10 year later reply :)
hypercarbon hahahaha .....
I so had a crush on Martina Hingis. She is a hottie!
Pierce made it to # 3 Single, #3 Doubles, Novotna # 2 Single #1 doubles. Venus (made it to #1Single and #1 double) was born June 17, 1980, Hingis Sept. 30, 1980 so Venus was slightly older. Martinez earned over $11 million made it to #3 I think, and Mauresemo born July 5 1979, made it to #. All are older than Her, although Venus only by a few months.
i love Roland Garros :) , and i miss Hingis ;(
part2.after that lesson, and then when she lost wimbledon in1st round,i began to feel simpathy for her,and in my mind there was the ilusion that this would be like a public lesson for kids,in terms of "you may be very talented, but if you don't behave,it may bring troubles to you,but life will gave you a 2nd chance.."i was wrong, the girl never won a grand slam after that, she lost to capriati who became hingis's nightmare, then she got sick, came back, struggled for her old position and the retirement
I really like both ! and you know what, emotions can run out of control easily on such high competition level, that said, I think Martina did well
Steffi
Graf
The
Greatest
of
All
Time
Monica was her Kryptonite !!! Monica was the best player I ever saw.
In professional Tango Dancing (and probably Ballett) there these woman meet also
@kevinandrew791 no problem, i apologize for assuming you meant something that you didn't. Take care :-)
She looks sooo cute in this video...
#1 tennis player n the world Steffi graf she's great love it!!!!
This is like the biggest kitchen I've ever seen.
Childish behaviour from one of the most over-rated players. Huge mistake to underestimate Steffi - but then Hingis always was a pretender and a brat.
Up a set and a break and she decided to make more of a call than was needed, just plain dumb. She lost control here, and eventually lost the match. Nobody to blame but herself. A lesson for us all.
@Hoffenheim08 ;
.. also, Martina then went to see it and she were pointing exactly were she hit it.., so she knew.. and saw.
Even Graf knew,, but wouldn't tell.., well.. shame
thru now..
have a honest life mate..
Yes...She would have won the match had she "just let it go".
Hingis was a great player. If she did not have those ankle injuries early in her career which forced her first retirement, she would have had a big rivalry with Serena.
I'm here because of Cracked.
I support hingis
Many people support Putin.
So what?
I think she did you think she never it really doesnt matter I dont want to argue they both played great tennis in their professions :)
I miss Martina
When Serena and Venus were younger. Richard would make them play against young boys who cheat. this made them stronger and if a call went against them that they knew was in they could handle it better
Exactly Hawk eye will never be used at the french however that umpire did walk to the wrong spot, but if you are down like Graf would you have said where the ball landed, Like hell i would.
I mean Graf knew the ball was in and they where looking at the wrong mark
Better at an early age than any of them at that same age.
I admire Steffi for her great personality in her matches ; however, she should have given the point to Hingis without considering the score.
Well, some of us whine. Some stay cool. Some swear. Some cry. None of these gives the right to the audience to boo and disturb the player. That was not a football match that you can distract other team players. In brief, the audience should also have shut their mouths up :)
@Max E Are you sure about it since they spent some time to notice the mark
What a karen
All teh years referies make wrong decision. in all sport is like that. You have to live with that. A classy player knows it ! Hingis is just to arrogant !!! And The French Crowd hate that !!!
Brat said that Steffi´s old, here time is over before the match #karma
Thank goodness for the Chase review. Now this bs can't happen.
Martina Hingis is 18 years old here. dont judge her.
Why not?
