I use coil machines, my machines are at the right side of my station, ink is on the right side, starting with black then colours right to left, hustle butter within easy reach to refresh the dollop on my glove
Love these I paid for an apprenticship and the girl told me to watch tattooing 101 I said I could have done that myself jajajaj you guys do a great job and honestly owe what I know about tattooing to this channel thank you kats for all your help always informative and insightful!
Thanks for these videos im a beginner just waiting for all my tattoo kit to arrive then i will start, your videos are really helping me so far so thanks again.
Another tip for beginners with fake skin (of course depending on the thickness / quality): Put a cutting board or mat or another fake skin or something similar below, in case your needle goes through the fake skin. So you don't poke your table. Ideally get fake skin that's 2mm or thicker. because your target depth is about 1.5mm
My setup is always the same. I put on gloves and disinfect the surface. I then use plastic barrier and tape down a dental bib on top. Then working from right to left back row: power source, lamp, rinse cup, cup w/witch hazel holding cartridges, stack of precut paper towels. Front row R to L wrapped machine, ink caps light to dark, Vaseline followed by a spare pair of gloves.
I pretty much set up the same way. I always keep my Vaseline on hand and have a dedicated tub just for my fake skins. I don't use it for anything else. For human skin I use inkeeze. I put my paper towels above. I have a three shelfed stainless steel trolley and on top are my ink caps, inkeeze, machines, razor(real skin) paper towels, green soap bottle, water bottle and cartridges.on the second level I have my box of gloves, my ink bottles (black), wrapping tape... the third one I don't use it yet lolll..
Hey Brandon, thanks for the great tips, as for your piece of cloth on the table im guessing you throw it away after? or do you throw it in like a washing machine? thanks
hey I'm a total beginner and was wondering if disposable grips are safer for tattooing humans is there still a way to make pen machines with autoclaves sanitary (such as a mast tour pro)?
Hey Brandon, i am binge watching your videos while waiting for my kit to arrive and i have to say, these videos are so great. Thanks for putting out your knowledge out there.. I have 2 questions about setting up the station. 1: Why you put 6 drops of ink on a ink cup and 3 on another cup and then water? 2: If i use the same needle on fake skin is it ok or i need to use new one every time? Thanks again
different dilutions of ink are used to create shading. ALWAYS use a new needle even on fake skin; tattoo is all about good habits. imagine also if you accidentally poke yourself, which happens as a beginner. you better hope that's a fresh clean needle. also ink and Vaseline etc gets gunked up in there, and the needle could get dull.
Hey Brandon, thanks for another great video. I realize the importance of autoclaving for sterilizing but, would using a pressure cooker as well as using medical grade disinfectants provide the same outcome for those of us who do not have access to an autoclave?
@@markusvonriva8556 Thanks for your help. I have been using Opticide Max with a 1 minute kill time for the parts of my machine after every time I tattoo on practice skin. I have only tattooed one person once, my son, but I still want to be sure that I take all precautions when I get to tattoo others. Thanks again for your help!🙏 poppy
There are several studies that have tested common household pressure cookers to see if they can be an effective alternative to autoclave for laboratory equipment. And yes, many of them are capable of passing the spore test.
Thank you so much for your channel! Im trying to start tattooing and it has been the best resource! I did have 1 question I hope you dont min me asking, I was going to purchase the Dragonhawk 7X wireless pen until I saw this regarding the disposae grip. Does it have to be a particular grip made for the machine or are the disposable grips on amazon good for it as well? Any help is appreciated ❤
He actually did 8 but he meant to do 6 i think he just lost count for a sec lol but its for different shades of black/greywash basically for different tones when shading from dark to lighter fades
I’ve been really interested in tattooing and I was wondering about the fake skins. Do you think the fake skins that nurses use are okay to tattoo with? The ones that are used to inject needles.
And Optim1 is a great cheaper alternative to autoclave. I also have that machine and you have to make sure you use membrane cartridges so the ink and stuff doesn’t go up into the grip and motor.
im watching this to prepare to do my first tattoo, thank you so much for being a great teacher
Did you do it? I’m so curious about how it went 😇
Today is my first appointment for my first tattoo ever, wish me luck please 🙏

How do you know what liners you need for the traditional outline you’ve chosen? How do you determine this when starting off? Is their a general rule?
thank you!! You are amazing, God bless you always!!

So to do a soft shading, do you always need water to lighten the black ? And it's just plain purified water ? No saline water ?
This! Im wondering the same thing? The water must be to lighten the black & that’s for shading purposes correct?

thankyou this was very informative this is definitely helping me i just started up tatooing and this video is very helpful 👍😎
Do you have to have an autoclave for rotary machines with disposable needles if you’re in a studio?
I try to replicate you as much as I can I appreciate the help your videos give me

Medical desinfectants work too . But pay attention to exposure time

How would I dispose needles??
For doing grey wash, you don't use an ink mixer?
Great video! One question though, why do you do solid black, then 6 drops and 3 drops filled with water?

Solid ink. Painful pleasures is the website
you should get affiliate links and put it on description so you get compensated
My setup is really similar to yours almost the same just a little different placement
When tattooing on fake skin I use vaseline as you show on the video, but for human skin should I use something like Hustler Butter?
Yes I like green glide as well
Good vid
Exellent videos Bro, Can you do a video about práctica drawing?? (Freehand) It really cost me a lot of concentration:/

Whats the stuff in the bottle?
Do UV sterilizers work as well as autoclave’s?? This question goes out to everyone.
So do pen style tattoo guns need autoclaves to clean??? I cant just spray down my gun with disinfectant?
I set up sort off the same but a lot messya.
Or u can put one more bag on top the bottle and that way is covered too and bottom 😜
