Alright heres a serious review of this album by me, someone who has listened to this in full 50+ times already and continues to listen to single songs on loop from it for hours at a time
So, i first listened to this on my first shroom trip in over a year. i had been feeling down recently before this trip and listening session. I knew i had to save it for when i did them. I listened to the first 17 secs for the first time ever earlier that day before i got the shrooms, and literally paused it and went "Nope. saving that for the trip."
WOW. I AM SO GLAD I DID!!!
after taking around an eighth of golden teachers, and was sufficiently "into it," i turned this album on for the very first time. the euphoria my body felt from within was ... otherworldly? like, i didnt see shit (was on meds at the time that dulls effects of psychedelics, psilocybin included) but i got thought loops on how euphoric the whole album made me. Holy god i will never forget that. it was like chills and goosebumps nonstop but real pleasureable. the album seemed to finish in what felt like 5 minutes. What???
anyways, i listen to this practically all day everyday now. i have the shirt! i wanna get the poster and vinyl eventually haha. i cant pick one favorite, but gymNYC1999 TMP and CigSmilesLA TMP are fighting for dominance in my head all the time, with sometimes 3 others. Seriously, i don;t like vanillaG or stiltonC as much as the other songs (esp cigsmiles and gymnyc) but i dont skip over them 75% of the time during my relistens, especially if im stoned on cannabis or on shrooms. other drugs i have done w this album include Dxm (old drug of choice, suffered baaad addiction to it. 3 months clean from it as of writing this comment) and alcohol and benadryl (DONT fucking do benadryl)
NO. i do not condone drug usage, but its such an important part of my life i did feel like this was necessary. Im autistic (explaining why i listen to some songs from this on loop either normal or nightcored for hours) and drugs are a special interest of mine anyways. But who cares. ANyways
GymNYC1999 is INCREDIBLE. it's just like being in a digital city, and you can even hear like construction work or whatever simulated within it. Also, genius's lyrics are totally wrong! it's "You know this party's fun!" not "you know this PART is fun" But thats my only gripe. I LOVE the build up to the totally wicked carousel-sounding melody that part is awesome. and the guy laughing right before the chorus+faintly during the chorus. its Gnarly as hell.
cigsmilesLA makes me feel as if im soaring on top of a colorful city jumping along to the beat of the music with a fictional guy i like. i heavily associate this song with the webcomic "hot dagn" cuz i listened to it on loop during my hyperfixation with it.
the album cover art is MAGNIFICENT. all the details and visual cues!! and watching the speed-pixel art vid for it was INCREDIBLE to see!!! i love it so much, it all is a chaotic sort of harmony of sorts LOL.
anyways, graham kartna idk if youll see this one but this is hands down my #1 album of all time. it was a different one for years but this one just... takes the cake. means a lot to me! this is the internet compressed into a beautiful melodic glorious cacophony of beeps and boops and everything else. Love the mini auditorial "cues" or hidden things, i heard a guy saying "pizza dough" i believe in gymnyc1999 and "mama mia!" in forgetseverythingever90 went hard as a sample. Ok im done schizo rambling. love ya

Man ik exactly what you mean i used to listen to those same songs on edibles all the time last summer first time i did shrooms was in april of this year but when i did i went into the woods and i listened to "maison pendant la nuit" by kartna and it was amazing

BRO I KNOW RIGHT GYMNYC IS SOO GOOD for me my favorite is between gymnyc and scratchingmyearslikeacat because the little “oh yeah!” is so fuckjng fun to sing along to but toughtownbb is like a close third!!! but i genuinely never skip any of them all of them are so good this is my favorite album on the planet and has been for like a year
(im also autistic and these songs are so fucking good to stim to esp because of the repetition of elements)

I haven't looked if its back yet but on my end the audio of it got removed for no reason and its one of my favorites of the bunch and got really sad so I'm glad its still here, nice album, im so glad I found you, Graham.

Also the guy with a pink shirt on the left was from .temp and the spinning guy from Shoot the Moons on the right. Probably more references in there that I missed.
The Shout guy and “PISS -> 3/4” is reference to These Are The Shout (2019); the speaker on the TV, the hotdogs on the keyboard, the controller on the floor and spaghetti references are all from Illegal Transmissions over Boyos, ON (2017); the red-jacket guy in the front right is just Graham from the cover of Drain (2020). Other small references to inside jokes from his community all over the place, including the spilled (squandered!) fries, Mario pissing gif, and so many more.

Dang I never realized how lucky I was to find Graham's music. So I was browsing the Backrooms Wiki, and I found a level (I forget which level) and read the page, then I went to the discussion page for it and I saw this comment. It said something like "This music fits the mood of this level" and a RUclips link. Curious, I clicked the link and it brought me to this funny song called "Star U" in this album called "Ideation Deluxe" by "Graham Kartna". I immediately became hooked. So hooked that I pirated the album. Definitely not my best move. I did end up buying it (on Bandcamp) along with TMP2, which is now one of my favorite albums ever! Bless that commenter, whoever they are. I've learned a message all of this, share what you love! You don't have to actively promote it, just post a link to it and say something like "this fits the mood" (even if it doesn't). Who knows you might make someone become a huge fan just because of posting a link. Hey it certainly worked on me!
