Pampas grass was popular back in the 70s and 80s. There used to be a national chain store called World Bazaar that was popular in the 70s and 80s. They carried all things wicker and pampas grass. I had it in my first apartment in 1981. Good times.
I need that store now. My entire house is like a 70s earthy vibe. Been finding all my wicker and fun eclectic pieces at thrift stores but it takes a long time to find everything I’m looking for
Omg, World Bazaar! That name tickled something deeeep in my memory. My mom would take me there when I was very small. That's where she bought the eucalyptus she kept in a vase in the bathroom. What a random memory.
David, I too had this in the 80s! My puppy loved it and pulled it out of the vase and ran all over the apartment. Gosh, I loved that dog and the decor. Thanks for the memories ☺️
Thank you thank you THANK YOU!! There are so many videos about this where people take up to 15 minutes to get to the point. You ALWAYS get right to the point. And this truly helped bc I'm really trying to find some. Keep up the great work🤗!
Let's talk Golden Girls! I see it all the time when I watch it. At first I didn't even know what it was but, yes, seems it's all over the place on line. I need some because I was given a huge vase as few years ago and didn't know what to use it for. I'm going on a Pampas Grass hunt asap!
love all the tips, FYI...I'm from New Zealand, we don't have pompas grass but do have a stunning alternative "Toetoe" (pronunced Toitoi, beautiful Maori word) that I use as a pompas alternative
Hey 💗great content you know we used to find it when I live in Saudi Arabia I wish we had those information and Decorating styles back thin . But we use it anyway and it lasted like 15 years.
This was probably the best pampas grass video I have seen, I live in San Diego and it grows like you said wildfire… and was wondering once I cut it how I need to dry it and there’s all these different videos and it was absolutely annoying because it didn’t make sense considering it’s just grass!!! So because you showed multiple images and displays and anything and everything else you get a like, and you get a subscriber
i Love Love Love pampas grass....there are two places around here that has it..one is the lady who lives across the river, she has a huge barrier of it between her house & her neighbor.. & i have thought abt asking for a few stalks over the years, but..from what i have witnessed of her interactions with others..she is pretty UN-approchable....the other is another huge clump on the corner in the parking lot of a gas station/quicky mart type place....i have been contemplating asking them..but have yet to do so, people are so unfriendly in this town..after seeing this i will suck it up & ask them now, as i was also contemplating planting a clump of my own, but..since it grows such a giant root system i know my landlord would throw an unholy fit & rip it out. Lovely informative video! Thank You!
Hi new subscriber here...catching up on past videos....loving your channel! I just purchased my first Pampas grass from Amazon....it was expensive, took forever to get here ( think from China) and was really short....just not at all what I was expecting! So I have seen it on the side of roads since I first bought just never noticed before....I live on a farm and turns out I have a bumper crop of it growing at the back of our 6 acre farm! So I was afraid to bring in bc of anything icky from outside. So you just shake it and put hairspray on it? Obvious look for anything crawling on it! I have two cats and can’t have house plants bc they think they are fun to chew on.....with the grass I figure I can get it high enough they won’t be able to get to...they are 14 years old lol😂 So thank you for sharing ....I appreciate the information😊kim ....enjoying your take on design styles....btw I have a real farmhouse built in 1847..many styles occurred during those years....it was decorated 80s style when we moved in...we have gone room by room renovating bringing it back modern farmhouse...each room has a nod to the past with woodwork, exposing brick, metals and wood. I decorate with things I like....I have always mixed styles traditional, farm house and boho ( goes well with horse decor....)
Just got artifical blush pampas grass to add more color to a taupe and emerald green living room. 14" narrow neck vase on end table, 3 pieces of grass, bare stems about 6" from top of vase. Doesnt look right. Any suggestions? (Great content. Great delivery and editing. Wish I could remember what you said but I was too distracted.)
I love this trend because it’s a great alternative to fake plants and dried plants for me (if I wanted to take care of a living organism I’d get a dog, not something that doesn’t do anything)
It grows anywhere in Philippines and no one give attention to it😄. Even in our way near our home.. Now I knew it's useful I can take a lot of it and display in our home 🙂
I’m one of those people who sadly HAS to buy Pampas grass because they’re rarely grown here in my part of Michigan, but when they are, they’re the tiny ones that look completely different. All of the properties I’ve asked to harvest from so far have told me no. I’m so annoyed and sad because I’d love to have some in my home but I really can’t afford them at this time. Guess I’ll have to travel for them 😞
You are not going to believe this 😂 I just bought some pampas grass for my flat!! I am going for short stems in a statement vase! Loved this! So timely 🔝Loved the editing and the music 😍💕
It’s actually spelt Toe Toe but commonly misspelt as Toi Toi! Also, Toe Toe is a Native NZ plant similar to South American Pampas, and that’s why Pampas is classed as a weed here because it often takes over the natural habitat that Toe Toe would occupy :)
i'm sorry to hear that! but i think you would still have allergies even with the hairspray :( although it's possible that if you gave your stalk enough time, the pollens you're reacting to could "die down" and they might not bother you so much!
I was having an issue with my pampas grass and this video showed up.. coincidence! I've had my pampas grass for about three months when it suddenly started being quite smelly. It's not a smell that stinks up the room but you can smell it when getting closer.. still bothers me. They kinda smell like a wet dog hahaha not so pleasant. they have stayed in a pretty dry room I would say so I can't figure out why it's happening. I've also spent quite some money on them so I'm kinda annoyed... does anyone have a solution? 😊♥
i found some of this in a local park a few yrs ago, I displayed it in the bathroom for a few yrs, I didnt know what it was called..... the park is also known for being a place for picking up girls .....guys.........i kid you not... i`m in England too
Please don’t put hair spray on it make more mess , I got two lots of Pamper grass one I put hair spay and the other I didn’t the one with hair spay keep making a mess the other no problem.
At first it looked nice in really nice polished and fancy decorated homes, but un all others it looks ridiculous. And almost every home I visit has it and it dies not look good because home owners are not very aesthetically educated, which makes me not want pampas in my home at all
I will never look at my neighbor the same again 😁 I love pampas grass and he has a massive one in a front garden for years
😂😂😂🤭

@@meghanchism9167 I'm sure you know this but if you live in the states you can try Cost Plus World Market for a lot of things in that vibe :)

My head is spinning! I live in the UK and my mum and dad had this as a centrepiece in their front garden in the 80s...🤯
😅 a coincidence, i'm sure!! 😅

Vraiment Canon ! Et beaucoup de belles idées ! Je sais comment je vais pouvoir utiliser les miennes !
would you recommend blow-drying it to fluff it up or leave it in the sun?

I'm obsessed with pampas grass
Interesting you showed Luxe Be Pampas pictures, but you didn’t mention to buy it from her site. I love my pampas grass from her!
It grows anywhere in Philippines and no one give attention to it😄. Even in our way near our home.. Now I knew it's useful I can take a lot of it and display in our home 🙂
I just cut some today and they are shedding what looks like seeds.
Thanks for this video, I will spray them with hairspray
Any different with faux pampas grass?
Thank you for th education and Information .

Great video ! I just picked up a tone off marketplace for my home.. just a lil note from Australia, . Kiwis don't say G'day 😅 Aussies do 🤭🥰.
Hi , I am a big fan of yours. A small question . I have 17 feet wall in my living room whether single big window will be good or 2 windows.
There are a lot of variables to consider but personally I love huge picture windows!
Can you tell me where I can find it in Manchester outside havenot seen any outside
We call it Toi Toi in NZ. Excellent video 👌🏻
i like toi toi better, i will call it that from now on ♥
It’s actually spelt Toe Toe but commonly misspelt as Toi Toi! Also, Toe Toe is a Native NZ plant similar to South American Pampas, and that’s why Pampas is classed as a weed here because it often takes over the natural habitat that Toe Toe would occupy :)
Pampas grass world!!!!!👍❤. Interesting bit about the uk info.... ahahh.... those brits!
What kind of spray do you use to spray the grass? ☺ thank you
Regular hairspray!
@@PoshPennies thank u ☺
It's not a privacy barrier, they're swingers XDXD I'm joking, love your videos :)
Hi, I have question. Unfortunately, we had one at home and it gave me a very strong allergy. With the hair spray I will no longer have allergies?
i'm sorry to hear that! but i think you would still have allergies even with the hairspray :( although it's possible that if you gave your stalk enough time, the pollens you're reacting to could "die down" and they might not bother you so much!
Is it legal to pick pampas grass from community park?
I’m going to go look for pampas grass today lol
I can’t find beige pampas outside like the ones on the video Manchester based
I love your videos.
I love pampas grass! What is the pray you use for the grass please?
Just regular hairspray :)
Interesting. 👍I will buy one. But alive - in a pot. 🙂
Did you know there is purple pampas grass that grows in the Andes???? I mean, how cool is that???
wow!! i want some 😬
I didn't get the part about the ''UK and the signal of being into swinging''. Can someone please explain this to me? Thank you 😅
try googling "what is swinging" :P
Do Pampas grass have season to pick ?
it's usually available year round! i just picked some (it's january) here on the west coast in canada
Used in 70 s
I liked the bit where she said Pampas Grass.
😂 just in case the algorithm wasn't sure what my video is about
🤣🤣🤣

I’ve definitely noticed the trend and maybe because of it being in everyone’s home, I steer clear of it. I instead opt for a live green plant or tree.
Is there anything wrong with artificial?
Not at all, check out Luxe B for beautiful artificial Pampas! I think I linked to them in the description 💖
@@PoshPennies Thanks. The Luxe B synthetics are indeed stunning, but my poor wallet just had a meltdown. I’ll keep looking.
That it is made of PVC, not natural.
3-4 step outside and these grass are all over the place from where I am..
i found some of this in a local park a few yrs ago, I displayed it in the bathroom for a few yrs, I didnt know what it was called..... the park is also known for being a place for picking up girls .....guys.........i kid you not... i`m in England too
maybe it's still a thing then, ha
I have 6, getting ready to devide into 40
I cut myself up trying to get some for my family
Please don’t put hair spray on it make more mess , I got two lots of Pamper grass one I put hair spay and the other I didn’t the one with hair spay keep making a mess the other no problem.
