I never took the plastic cap off when I installed it on my 5 yo tv…. Seems to work fine though. Hopefully it fell off when blindly installing as I could not see it when plugging into the SPIF of my tv.
Very interesting thanks! I don’t like to have many cables. There is a way to connect to the tv without a cable? (Like a Bluetooth sound bar)
You can't rely on wireless for everything. Espacially in this case. Not only it would decrase the quality of the audio but the would also be a delay problem.
A cable is the only way.
Can i use it as passing through it 5.1 surround sound from GPU to receiver? Now i have connected S/PDIF from TV to receiver (Panasonic SA-HT05) and it’s just think it’s R/L chanell through that toslink (great job nvidia!). I wanna do it with this
You can't use the Arc as a passthrough device but I don't undestand what kind of setup you are trying to make by use a Arc+ a cinema kit?
If your connecting surround sound speakers and a sub to a Sonos am0, what about your hdmi arc which has to go back to the amp? You can’t send one to the amp and one to the sound bar. I’m confused mare?
Only the device that play the front speakers need the HDMI Arc.
The rest will be sent wirelessly or over the network cable.
@@HowToPM yes mate I got told you can hard wire the ceiling speakers as surround sound back to your amp and also connect your sub to that. Connect my hdmi ARC to the amp, then can I not connect this Sonos arc soundbar wirelessly?

I don't know what is you setup but you need to have all compatible devices to get it work. But honestly I don't understand why everybody freak out about Atmos. You will get something great with or without. 😉

My Sony tv KLV43W772E (2017) one HDMI normal and one HDMI Arc but tv not support Dolby Atmos only support Dolby digital Plus , My sound bar Sonos arc have only one HDMI EARC, and support Dolby Atmos. I have purchased Amazon fire TV 4k Max , so what setup for Dolby Atmosphere.

No. SONOS arc sound bar works ok with ARC output on a tv.. But if you want truly blown away with ATMOS sound (what the Sonos arc was built for) You need to hook the sound bar to the eARC output.. then sit down and play an ATMOS movie. And be ready to be blown away..
I never been blown away by atmos. I really think it's overated.
@HowToPM were using the eARC output.. Not the ARC output Huge Difference
