Needed a Little mixing prior to pouring. That said, I personally like that look when it happens.

I actually mixed it for about 30 second before the pour. I've cast brass many times before without this issue but the last couple pours I keep having this issue.

No idea on what caused the copper/brass separation, but you can add some zinc ton the surface with an electrodeposition, then heat gently and have a uniform golden color.
Or you can pickle your coins with a light acid to remove the zinc on the surface, and have reddish coins.
Did you use any acid to clean the coins ?

No I didn't use any acid just a wire brush to clean them up and some polishing compound. Not so much not liking the look as it is not getting what I expected.

I am trying to 3d print with wax resin currently. What trouble shooting worked out for u ? Your prints look amazing.

Does copper and brass melt at separate temperatures? Maybe increasing the temp will allow them to mix more.

Nope, when in alloy, all the alloy goes to the same melting temperature (between the melting temperatures of both metals).
It looks like a zinc depletion on the surface, caused by some acid etching ?
