I love the fact that in the Italian version the verse “your status quo will know that it’s race is done” is translated “il tuo status quo io lo divorerò” that in english is “your status quo I will devour” because for the fact that alastor is a cannibal it fits him very well

Alastair’s first person in the Japanese version is “watashi “.
However, in this song, the first person is changed to “ore”, expressing his ferocious side.
Could you please explain more how this is relevant in the Japanese language and culture? I'm a silly American. How is ore more threatening than watashi?
@@MsAngelique
日本では「私」は紳士などが使う丁寧な一人称ですが、「俺」は荒々しい人間が使うような言葉です!
@@MsAngeliqueI’m Japanese. I think the answer is because “Ore” includes strength and masculine. If man use “Watashi”, the situation is formal place. So Alastair appears his real face. Im sorry for my not good English 🙏
From my layman's understanding, it's a difference of formaly distant vs. casually intimate.
In English, we don't use first-person formality, really, so the best way to really compare how stark of a contrast think of someone who normally talks politely or something saying "I'm going to make you regret that, sir" but instead they break their politeness and civil character to say "buddy, I'll make you regret that". Or, think how mob bosses sound more threatening the more friendly and more they use terms of endearment to drive home a point.
(Do correct me if I'm wrong in that interpretation, it's my current cultural understanding of formality rather than a direct knowledge of the language)
@@MsAngelique
I am very happy that you are interested in Japanese expressions.
First, I will explain the first person in Japanese. The first person changes depending on the person's personality and their relationship with the person they are speaking to. Wtashi is a polite word used by both men and women. On the other hand, ore is a rough word mainly used by men.
Next, let's talk about expressions in Japanese anime and manga. In anime and manga, there is an expression in which characters change their first-person pronouns in order to hide their true nature.
Considering these things, Alastor's first person change from watashi to ore means that his hidden true nature as a radio demon is revealed. From our Japanese perspective, this is an effective way to remind us that he is a dangerous being.
日本語以外全く分からない言語ですが、とても楽しめました。

I will add a little bit for foreigners about the Russian language. If you read the translation of this scene in Russian, then Alastor will say the following:
Well, let's get started.
From now on, this will be my neighborhood.
There is a reception.
The hour has struck.
I've shaken up your status quo a lot.
There's fun waiting for us.
In English, it may seem that this is utter nonsense, but the bottom line is that in Russian there are many so-called catch phrases that cannot be translated into English because of their ambiguity. Their translation is becoming too literal
From now on, this will be my neighborhood - Alastor says that now he is coming back and taking power into his own hands.
There is a reception - just a different translation of the original track "tune on in"
The hour has struck.
I've shaken up your status quo a lot - Alastor bluntly says that he shook his status quo with his antics with the interception of the ether, showing his power.
P.S I will add that I used a translator, so do not be surprised at the strangeness of the translation.
P.S.S Jackie has released subtitles from Stayed Gone.
Here is the MOST CORRECT TRANSLATION of the Russian version:
Well, let's begin.
From now on, this will be my area
There is a reception.
The hour has struck.
I realy shook your status quo
Fun awaits us.
This translation is available under the Jackie-O cover in subtitles.

wdym "utter nonsense" the translated text taken back to english was still clear to understand to me (non russian) despite supposed ambiguity
"From now in this will be my neighbourhood" clearly means he will raise to power over the local area, even taken literally it's crystal clear what this means
Same for "There is a reception", signals are capable of being received, meaning he is on air, since he is the radio demon and has a radio show the meaning here is clear as well

@@zonat2468 I don't know how to explain 100% accurately (not a music major) but the two step beat between low 1 then high 1 then low 1 back to high 1 finally low 2 (told you not a music major). Just look up Rush B. It's mainly the piano in the song that gives it a Russian flair. Very slow and methodical, intimidating like Alastor. Again just look up Rush B

Piano version. At 2:29 it sounds very Russian. I don't know the exact song
@@zedanide6984 Okay, I think I'm starting to understand. I just needed to remember the motives of the 19th and 20th century. Thanks a lot for the explanation.

Wow! Alastor sounds like the original *in Russian* only in a different language.
_The highest level!_
Am i the only one who thought Krusty The Clown when Italiano Alastor started laughing?

In the end
I'll make you remember who I am
My signal, transcend
Your status quo so frail
Already fell

French from France or Canada? I am French and I live in France and personally I prefer the voice of France :D but the Canadian is good too

Она реально очень подходит

While everyone's complimenting the VA's, I'm just as impressed by the comments that focus more on sharing the parts they love rather than talking hate. I know some parts may sound funny to us due to language barriers, but it warms my heart to see how you all kept those to yourselves and focused on positivity. Keep it up, guys! 💙
Love this song. Especially the scene when Alastor sings :)
Russian vers.: I'm'a scare ya
Quebecois: hold my maple

Russia: Imma spook y’all out.
Quebec: The wendigo vibes are from here. We know how spooky it can get
The french version has differences from original. In original, voice is calm and charismatic, which contrasts with his devilish appearance, the same in russian version. But it's not bad, it gives new character notes to song.
French is very serious, but Italian makes you laugh
2:45 We found the Glamrock Freddy's voice LOL
The Russian version is exactly why i love playing the Metro series with Russian voices. It just sounds entertaining when the VA is so into their character.
