Hello , good drone ! On the other Hand, the drone only works 15 to 17 minutes because of the automatic Rth (return to home) for the low battery reason. they announce a run of 28 minutes per battery. I'm halfway through. have you found a solution so that I can access the full capacity of the battery It’s normal ? Thank you for your answer😊
The manufacturers always publish this and it is in theoretical conditions and does not reflect actual use. The published flight time is also to ZERO battery level (you land and battery =0%), not the RTH battery level. To get the most out of the use though the batteries should go through a few discharge cycles, have no wind and be moderately warm (not hot or cold) conditions and avoid aggressive or fast moves, which uses more power and battery life. My experience (all drones) it that if it states 28 minutes of battery life, if you do all the aforementioned things, you could be at about 20 minutes to RTH battery level, best case, and maybe 23-24 min at zero battery level.
Haven't flown that particular model but have flown a couple from the same factory and they do a pretty decent job. For the price some of the better models...
@@garylinnane917 It's an interesting story, but there is no original of this drone, so it's not really a bugs, though a couple of weeks ago I would have said the same thing. They come from the same factories, and everyone orders the options they want ala-carte from a "pool" of engineers in the frame they want and call it what they want, but it is not made by one manufacturer and "relabeled" by someone else. I just learned how the manufacturing of these drones work during an interview with someone inside, video to be published soon. It's really different than I thought it worked, and really interesting. Regardless, still a fair product series, it should serve you well. 😎
Hmm....i just bought mine, but setting the point of interest is not working....only option is the function within the app, that I can not adjust height on
The point of interest is funky. You have to move directly above the point of interest at the height you want to orbit, then enable the mode (2 buttons at the same time) them move the distance away that you want to orbit and adjust the camera, then click the two buttons again to start the mode. Odd, but it works...
I screwed up and started it and ran it without knowing I had the camera cap on. I took it off and recalibrated everything and it seems to be working fine 😢
I have done the same. Except noticed the camera view on my phone was so bad that I realized what I did. Landed, removed, and took off again. Much better. :)
I have a question... I use an old phone for my drones and the old phone does not have service to it. The question is if I use a phone that actually had a service tied to it, would my connections or anything work better?
Good question! I also have an older phone without cell service (now) and it works exactly the same as it did when the cell service was active on it. I have to take the cover off if I want to extend the WiFi a bit but the connection is more related to the operating system level, the software being used and the hardware on the device itself... Good Flying!
$225 in the US right now, and that's a decent drone for that price. It's not perfect, but It's not all about video quality either, which I disagree is bad considering a 20 mph wind, a sunless day, probably -10° F wind chill and a frozen gimbal (way below specs), but also longer range, 3-axis gimbal, 4k-30, SD card onboard, precision GPS, brushless motors, smart features... I've yet to see a drone at $100 that will beat this functionality/specs. If it exists please forward the info. If it is worthy I'm happy to review it in the same conditions. 🤙
Thanks for the question! I didn't test the height in non-GPS mode though I did fly it without GPS and it was very stable. I flew it indoors as well and it navigated it around in a tight space quite easily and was really solid for me.
That's a good idea, but no I haven't. My gut tells me that the Cinemaster 2 from EXO would be a closer comparison functionality and pricewise to the Ruko GIM2. However, between the GIM2 and the X7 Ranger plus, the X7 is cheaper but only has 2.7k video a shorter range and the video was a bit shakier in my windy tests. The GIM2 has 4k video, a bit more stable, 10x the range, but is a little more expensive. The X7 has the obstacle avoidance and that red color and design details make it a dandy looker for sure. Both good flyers, no GPS issues. EXO touts better support, but hopefully you never need it, but if you do... Hard to decide, might need to get one of each, lol. 😎
@@JM-yx1lm Mini 2 will get pushed around in the wind a bit more because it is lighter and is about $150 for a similar package, but the technology and functionality of the mini-2 makes up for it. The mini 2 will likely serve you better in the long run. Only issue I have is DJI doesn't play well with android for some reason, and being on the US governments list of Commerce blacklist over ties to Chinese government and data concerns for national security. The tech and camera quality itself though is better than the Ruko IMHO...

So after your advice returned the u11 pro for this one . The u11 pro was a good flyer camera good video terrible. Now this one f11 pro gim 2 first flight was this morning sent it up about 5 to 9 feet just see how stable it was well it was drifting then when I landed it flip over . Calibrated the compass and Gyro again tried again same thing little drifting and it flipped over on landing . Then I shut everything off put in new battery calibrated everything reread the instructions made sure followed everything to a t took off and it was perfectly stable went up to about 70 feet took some pictures and video came out awesome.. But because of the first take off problem I don't trust it yet to really test it out yet not sure what the problem was at first hopefully it was me not the drone . There was 0 wind BTW Maybe that drifting was just because it was the first flight and needed time to set it self . All in all if that doesn't happen again this drone is great product I'm glad I listen to you and got it .
You may be right, I have noticed some drones fly better after the motors get some spin time on them. Don't know if some have a little "break in" period or not, never heard of it, but I have noticed sometimes that 1 or 2 motors will not spin right (slow to spin or slow to start) but after a few flights they become more stable. I've also found that some UAVs take a while to find satellites (some I'm testing now take 3-4 minutes). I try and wait until there is at least 8 or 9 satellites _before_ I do the compass calibration, and don't forget to do the Gyro calibration too, won't hurt. If it doesn't calm down though contact Ruko or exchange it, no sense living with an unstable product for sure. This model is mid-range, not toy range, and though every product has a few quirks sometimes, it should be able to keep itself prop side _up_ ... 🤙
My eyes are bad so maybe I didn't see it on the display but I think on the f11gim only shows bars not the actual number of satellites . Do you happen to know how many sats each bar represents? I think it goes up to five bars . Is 3 bars enough to fly or 2 bars ? What do you think?
Thanks for your info! Indeed, I've found that depending on your area the same drone could go twice as far or 1/10th as far. Depends on the RF in the area, the minerals in the ground, the air itself, atmospheric conditions, each drone and controller is slightly different, the landscape, etc... Not sticking up for it mind you, but even a drone spec'd at 5km only makes it to 300-400m for me sometimes. Seems like the industries little secret and a bit of misleading spec. Even at 400m though that's nearing the line of site so not the worst I've had. Good Flying!
@@AlienDrones I live in a big city Sao Paulo Brazil and outside the city the most i went was 600 meters ...my first ruko went 700 but on its onw ...i lost it
Yea so here is a update took off this morning everything worked good then I took it down to about 5 feet off the ground and started playing with the map soon as I started to switch from map view to cam few the app closes the drone is just hovering there I try landing controller stopped working so I went over had to grab the drone it's fighting me then I turned it over and it stopped. So now I really don't trust this thing I'm thinking I'm going to have to just send it back and try something it's ashame because on paper it looks good . Going to try one more time maybe but I'm leaning towards sending it back to many bugs on this thing still looks like on the f11 gim 2 or maybe I just get a bad one or it's the app or my phone don't know .
Indeed, a lot of the App crashes are phone dependent, they are a pain for sure. Haven't really had many App crashes lately except the Apps from DJI on an Android. If you're interested in this size/price range though, might want to check out the X7 Ranger plus and the Cinemaster 2 from EXO, were good flyers. The X7 has a little less resolution but you can add obstacle avoidance, the Cinemaster 2 has better video but no obstacle avoidance available. Cinemaster: ruclips.net/video/2rRktswPOeY/видео.html X7: ruclips.net/video/-i9CNq3eoMg/видео.html EXO Web Site: bit.ly/3vL2NDJ Good luck! 👍
Thanks , Tried today again in wind everything worked out good now no app crash and it was very stable in the wind. Still staying close and low not trusting it yet but seems like everything is working now . Taped on the map and back to cam no app crash this time . I think possible because I tapped the map on and off like 2 or 3 times really fast just learning how to change it that made it crash . I was trying to go from map to the little compass mode and back to cam.mode when it happened. Also I waited like a exsta minute or 2 before taking off to let the drone get better satellite single. I didn't time it but probably waited like 5 to 7 minutes before taking off lots interference in my area .
Another update I got a new phone with the new phone this drone works perfectly no problems GPS landing when I used it has been with in 3 feet every time so far its a good drone I'm happy with it . I think my older phone made it go nuts that one time . Because it never had that problem again.

Don’t buy the roku drones. They are complete garbage. I took the chance with one and just lost it on its second flight. I’ve been flying quads since I was 15. My last flight started out ok o and then the machine glitched the heck out and became completely uncontrollable. None of the safety functions work. Red emergency stop would not work. The thing ended up flying in chaotic circles “ occasionally stabilizing and attempting to return home” only to wind up in a death spiral. Watching my $500 toy self destruct and being completely unable to do a damn thing about really pisses me off. I own Parrot bebop 1 and 2, and two DJI drones. Only reason I opted for the roku was the lack of no fly zones. The roku is trash. Literally it’s trash. $500 for 15min worth of film.
We test in all kinds of conditions not to just show the positives but also real limitations of products. The video quality isn't excellent, but it isn't awful, but honestly under normal conditions it's just ok, but fair for the price. It won't do well in lower light due to the sensor size and in this specific video there's a "jello" effect but it was very cold and the gimbal rubber mounts were likely frozen and hard, and it was very windy. Kind of worse case for everything (cold, windy and dark). In better conditions it will be better. Not pristine video capable, but it's just ok. Right now it's on sale for $270, and for that price it's a decent value overall.
Was looking at this drone on Amazon and thought I’d watch a testing of it and that brought me here- out of all the drones you’ve tested how does it Rank in what you get vs the money? Thanks
Right now I saw that it is $359 after a coupon applied on Amazon, and that's with 2 batteries and a case, it's a fair value. That's like a $269 for the drone with 1 battery which is cheap and it has follow mode and waypoints, but the camera sensor is kind of small too. So if camera is more important and the follow mode no geo zones is important and and if you don't mind a mini drone, the Potensic ATOM is a better choice, if you don't need follow mode or waypoints and you don't mind geo zones and a mini size is ok, then the DJI mini 4k is probably the best price vs. value and best functioning model in that space. Hope this helps!
@@AlienDrones camera is not my main concern really, it’s having a stable drone to learn on before I continue with my 6” racing style drone.
What's your views on the Flyhal Fx1 drone. Brought it a couple of months ago and waiting on better weather to fly it.
Haven't flown that particular model but have flown a couple from the same factory and they do a pretty decent job. For the price some of the better models...
@Alien Drones it's a Bugs 16 drone.
Was going to get the KF101 MAX drone
@@AlienDrones yeah I tried that.....when I click the buttons, nothing happens....no prompts on the screen at all
I screwed up and started it and ran it without knowing I had the camera cap on. I took it off and recalibrated everything and it seems to be working fine 😢
🥸
I have done the same. Except noticed the camera view on my phone was so bad that I realized what I did. Landed, removed, and took off again. Much better. :)
Nice. set up
Enjoy the weekend

Looks cold really nice drone

sjrc f11s is the same drone for less money. though nice looking drones they seem to be inconsistent.
I crashed my ruko f11 gim2 and now the lites are flashing red!!
Why!! Any idea?
Did you contact Ruko support?
@Alien Drones yes I did.
The Philippine lady didn't know.
They sent me a replacement with out accessories
@@chuckgilmore371 Sounds like a good result, getting a replacement is not that common so have to give them credit for that...
@@AlienDrones Thx for the time. Big fan in MICHIGAN. Just ordered a hoodie!
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 Lived and worked in lower Michigan for 13 years, Farmington Hills and Lansing areas...
@@AlienDrones I grew up in Battle Creek and live in Hastings. Thx for the videos, truly helpful.
How much does it cost in the USA? because in the UK it costs £300 and has the video quality of a £100 drone.
Very helpful video. Bought one on black Friday solely based off your review.
Thanks! It's a decent flier, have fun!
fpv hack for this drone - you can cast your phone to Oculus go headsets
Is there a way to set a full-circle flight around an object/point?
yup. showed this in the vid...
I have a Ruko F11GIM2. I cannot enable the Orbital mode. I have tried the Photo/Video buttons method.
How high can you take this outside of GPS mode and is it easy to control without gps?
Thanks for the question! I didn't test the height in non-GPS mode though I did fly it without GPS and it was very stable. I flew it indoors as well and it navigated it around in a tight space quite easily and was really solid for me.
Will this follow film ( basically take it high enough put in orbit, film myself riding? ) if you're moving like 30 or 40 mph like on a dirt bike?
have you've done a side by side with the ruko f11 and the 7x ranger plus eco ?

@@AlienDrones damn, that's impressive. Psyched to take this thing out.
How long does 1 battery last in average conditions?
Ok you said it was 24min near the end of the video.
2nd question, how does this stack against the dji mini 2
@@JM-yx1lm Mini 2 will get pushed around in the wind a bit more because it is lighter and is about $150 for a similar package, but the technology and functionality of the mini-2 makes up for it. The mini 2 will likely serve you better in the long run. Only issue I have is DJI doesn't play well with android for some reason, and being on the US governments list of Commerce blacklist over ties to Chinese government and data concerns for national security. The tech and camera quality itself though is better than the Ruko IMHO...
how do I record Ruko screen on droid?
I use a free download "screen recorder" app. Does a decent job, fairly robust...
🔥 FLASH SALE on Alien Drones Swag!- 15% off everything March 4th - March 9th Including the now Infamous FAA Drone Pilot Hoodies! : bit.ly/3txmcoU Good Flying!
There was 0 wind BTW
Maybe that drifting was just because it was the first flight and needed time to set it self .
@@romanmax8561 If it just has bars that's okay, just give it a couple extra minutes to let it connect to as many as it can...
Do you have a part 107 license?
Yes. Part 107, 108, whatever it takes...

I think it's horrible in the wind. I had the bugs4w before the gim2 and even though the bugs sucks, it was faster and could handle the wind
I thought it handled the wind okay, but the gimbal getting out of whack was not too good.

It did a good job for sure!
Mine wont pass 400 meters of distance and its adjustaded to 1.5 kilometers
Thanks for your info! Indeed, I've found that depending on your area the same drone could go twice as far or 1/10th as far. Depends on the RF in the area, the minerals in the ground, the air itself, atmospheric conditions, each drone and controller is slightly different, the landscape, etc... Not sticking up for it mind you, but even a drone spec'd at 5km only makes it to 300-400m for me sometimes. Seems like the industries little secret and a bit of misleading spec. Even at 400m though that's nearing the line of site so not the worst I've had. Good Flying!

Doesn't Roku make TVS 🤔
Sounds like a flying TV could be the next evolution.. 🤔
Roku and ruko r two different companies
I'd just like to say, I say I'd just like to say, whut wuz I going to say......oh, I have a Drone here and damn it's cold (pshuush)(snort) and we're going to fly into the wind.......I think we're going to fly into the wind, sure is damn cold......
The video quality is meh.
Not a bad beginner drown
Well you're only one of a handful of people that have problems
Am I the only one who thinks the drone video quality is awful?
Crashed it a couple of years ago, not sure it wasn’t a loss of radio contact to be honest but I want a stable flight board before I get the fast one out again. Thanks
If you're looking for stability first and the cheapest, the DJI 4k is the most stable and best controlling drone out there right now. The Ruko is ok, but no where near as stable or controllable.
