Interesting talk about the teaching techniques. My first teacher was all about the "40 Rudiments" and I hated that rubber plate. After two years, my parents gave me a "real drumset" and it was amazing. Looking back, the rudiments teaching was extremely helpful, but I miss all of the Jazz parts.

Are they going to tell me they’ve never used (or seen) a rotary dial phone? Pffft! (The scary part is that it just means we’re _really_ getting old.)
