- From the English translated version of Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru, with the UmiTweak patch applied (PS3 sprites, voice acting, etc.) This is part of the Love Trial segment of Episode 6, with George's battle against Eva Beatrice and her red web. George would prefer to not stay in Eva's "caring, nurturing womb" any longer. He has decided to marry Shannon and he makes his voice heard... in various ways.
This scene takes place right after the introduction of Zepar & Furfur and the scene about Furudo Erika's past. And, perhaps obviously, the love trial after this one is Jessica's.

Eva is such a fucking great character. Might not agree with her all the time, but Ryukishi does an AMAZING job at crafting her from beginning to end. She’s a journey for sure, and I love ever minute.

Haha, funny you say that. There was an anime of this VN! In fact that's where the voice actors came from. Except, said anime isn't...."very good", to put it lightly. Not "Tsukihime" levels of bad adaption, but still horrible.

edit: Eva is correct about a lot of what she says, but she seems to assume that marriage is somehow vital to George being economically viable which is kind of weird given that this is the 80's in Japan and it's not exactly unusual for husbands (especially ones with guaranteed decently paying jobs like George) to support their families.
She wants George to marry an affluent lady from a rich-ass family and inherit his father's company and if possible; the whole Ushiromiya empire. She doesn't want him to be some middle-class salaried average dude.
Edit: Eva considers power and affluence to constitute success, which doesn't necessarily match George's values. They are important to George too, but to him, relationships come first.
George's kind of a sad character if you think about it. Since his childhood he's been basically forced by his mother to be perfect at everything she can think of (which probably made him feel stressed and lonely), and ended up falling in love with someone (with "no name"; a servant) who doesn't "really" love him back.
If Sayo wasn't a servant, she probably wouldn't be reacting as bad. The idea that he would marry a random girl was weird enough, but a servant? Too much danger. She was worried about him.
And it's so so so sad because I'm sure that if Sayo had someone like Eva as a friend and ally, she might've been able to overcome her despair and find happiness, even if her body wouldn't have been able to give her a child like she wanted. Of course it's wishful thinking that someone like Eva would've cared about a random servant, but it would've been so nice.
@@loren5432 Legit, Sayo's fears that George would've felt disgusted with her upon learning her truth made me squirm because George is a very conservative man. He's so firm he wasn't even swayed by the idea that his mother doubted his commitment to celibacy before marriage. George is a very kind person, but I do wonder, would he have had enough patience not to flinch or yell or look weird at Sayo in bed?
Eva is not wrong at seek for her child to get power on his own and also try to get a good piece of the cake of his father company and his grandfather empire, in that regards seeking out a good marriage for him is more of a virtue of a good mother as much as respect her son will.

While I love reading the manga. The visual novel is just the best! + voice acting and music.
I think they're both good but I think it's a matter of preference but I find them both enjoyable in their own way I like the classic black and white Mongo work and this I like the fact that well there's some color and it's pretty flashy
Definitely the VN brings more life to this and creates a wonderfully captivating experience. However the manga is beautiful in its visual representations and makes it even more artistic than the VN was able to show us. Both have their own form of being appreciated, glad to have Umineko in both formats.
@@SFGK I think they're both just as good for their own reason it is nice to see the voice but it's also nice to read the manga because you get to use your own imagination because you have to fill in the characters voices almost like you become the character

I guess Eva Beatrice only go so far and who she kills because she totally hesitated and that's why she died it's almost like she didn't want to kill George because in a way still her son I'm kind of surprised and she help back on him in a way she would have normally just killed someone right then and there then resurrected them again killed them over and over again surprise someone that evil would even have mercy on someone who is slightly related to her as a son

What do you use to record Visual Novels?? :D
Camtasia Studio 8. But the only reason I'm using that for recording is because Fraps doesn't work with Umineko. I'd be using Fraps for any other visual novel if it's possible (which might happen later). Camtasia can be used to edit the videos as well though, so that's good.

@@Harlequina89 I'm surprised that Eva Beatrice even cared she still technically not the same person they're two different people and yet she treated him like a son and like she was disappointed in him as a son even though technically they're two different people I find it kinda confusing because she even said that she's not eva early on in the manga I would think she would just straight-up kill George over and over again and actually enjoy it but it seemed like to me she was hoping that he would change his mind because there was some kind of love for him talk about confusing it's totally out of her character

They don't need to realize shit, there are lots of babies to adopt from hetero couples
Babies are not made from sperm or eggs, they are made from the care and protection of those who raise them. It matters not who births them, but the character of who that raises them. It can be a couple, or a single person, man or woman, same sex, different sex, polyamourous, the gender matters only to those who do not understand. A father can be as motherly as a mother, and a mother could be as fatherly as a father, and anyone can embody parts or both, or both in its entirety, it doesn't matter. But what does matter, is raising a child with love, putting yourself out there, not necessarily staying by their side, but being there when they need it most.
