    Nice work as always Davie! I really enjoyed your fishing videos this year. Would you consider doing one about your vest/pack(s) and gear you carry on the river? Thanks!

    Small, relatively simple flies like this one work well on most fish!

      Hi @user-qi7vw5xc3z,
      I'm sorry I don't know who originally came up with the dressing though I may have a look to see if I can find out as it does appear in a few books new and old...
      All the very best Davie

    Hey davie! Ive watched pretty much all of your videos over the years and I see how you have your wax on the side of your finger, I place my wax on the nail of my middle finger, have you ever tried that?

  • @bobmorgan6333
    @bobmorgan6333 9 месяцев назад

    Have you ever tried Bronzing the herl yourself Davie. I was told/read many years ago that in order to bronze the herl you just leave it sitting on a window sill that gets plenty of sunlight.

    Stupid question probably, but why do you wax the thread? I am new to fly tying, but really enjoy it.
    Thanks, Old Retired Chief, Texas

    • @Orie1
      @Orie1 9 месяцев назад

      Wax helps the thread to "stick", to the hook, itself and to improve grip on slippery material
