Thank you Dave, what an amazing emergrr, I ordered the identical materials so that I can try to learn your beautiful pattern. If I can learn your fly, I should be able to tie for our members, veterans and families through our PROJECT HEATING WATERS CHAPTER, CHARLOTTE, NC CHAPTER, MSG Leum
Got the Ultra Yarn just last week. Tied a couple of DH sedge patterns for the near future. Had one at work floated 4 days but had to take it out after I almost drank it. It IS really light weight.
Hi Davie. I recently bought a few of the fulling mill hi-vis caddis with the tippet ring at the back for dry dropper work. I wanted to see if the ring helped hookup rates (it did, up to a point, but I still have found most fish bounce off) but I was amazed at how well they float and I wondered what type of poly yarn they were using. I think you may have just answered that question! BTW, if you get a chance I’d love to see how to attach a tippet ring to the back of a hook like they do. I’ve found a way that uses sea fishing braid (light tipped isn’t strong enough) but it would be really interesting to see your take on it.
Another great ‘accessible’ pattern Davie. Thank you. Ordered some yarn last night but now wishing I’d ordered the dubbing as well! Request - I’m reading Trout and Flies Getting Closer and would love to see your take on their Film Clinger. I’ve tried to tie a couple but, to be honest, they’re a mess! 🤦♂️
