Had the Avata 2 for a week and am blown away. Instantly flew my original DJI fpv better after flying the avata 2 a few times. Was hitting gaps more confident, ya dig.
I really wanted to jump into FPV flying and now with everything switching from analog to digital if you want to jump into FPV, I highly recommend buying this product and especially getting the two-year care refresh because once you get more comfortable with your experience and flying, you’re gonna crash and DJI will replace the drone up to four times which is amazing in my honest opinion if you wanna start FPV by this package because I spent about three hours going into home builds and like I said it seems like everything‘s gonna switch to digital receivers. DJI is already selling their complete 03 unit which is amazing because you only need the motors and some props and you can have a home for 300 bucks and now that you have the package already you have the goggles you just need to buy the controller. Just be aware. The new goggles does not support the 03 flight system, but I’m sure they’re going to update it very soon. My body uses analog and what would you rather lookat wall flying a late 1990s CRT or an OLED screen there’s just no comparison
Great review! Very down to Earth and not elitist like some other FPV pilots. I can’t wait to get mine back in a couple days - had to ship it in for a controller bug :(
Thank you so much! That’s the one thing I am concerned about.. I’ve heard of the bugs these things can have, not looking forward to discovering them 😅 But then again, compared to the wonks our self-built drones come up with sometimes, this thing has been an angel lol
So will this replace your current fpv setup? Could it be used the same way with the manual controller? Really considering selling my current cinewhoops and decased gopros for this all in one solution that’s more reliable and polished than my current one
After taking this on a couple shoots, I genuinely think so. Super happy with the camera quality compared to the GoPros, WHILE having all the smart features installed just in case I need to take my hands or catch a breath. I will still keep at least one custom cinewhoop setup as a backup though, and the unlocking process for any Class G airspace takes minutes I could have saved just booting up and taking off.
@@KaiVertigoh Oh yeah, the "oh shit button" will come in clutch. Thankfully hasn't happened yet but you run the risk of bumping into a wall during a real estate take and end up having to pay for repairs. Honestly that and the fact that it can keep altitude constant (something I struggle with on my quads when flying slow) is a huge factor in buying for me.
Great video thank you! I have the mini 4 pro and Avata 2, both amazing drones for different situations! The mini 4 pro is like a nice Sunday stroll and the Avata 2 is like flying a jetplane! The motion controller is nice with Avata 2 when you don’t wanna think so much and just have a nice chilled flight, then you can use the RC3 in normal or sport mode to take it a step further. Then once you’re ready (or already an experienced FPV pilot) you can jump in manual mode. The Avata 2 handles surprisingly well in acro. But I agree 💯 with Kai, DEFINITELY practise in a sim first. I did prob 20 hours plus, before I took my first real manual flight, and still go on sims on days when the weather is bad just to get some practise in.
I've tried it on a dive in manual from 400 feet, at around 50 mph. I pressed the pause button just before hitting the ground. The drone did not like this at all, it dipped hard to the side, and clipped the ground. it's much better to manually slow the Avata 2 down a bit before pressing pause.
The motion controller will allow you to soar forward and in smooth arcs + some “acro” tricks, but it won’t allow diving and higher torque maneuvers. That will require manual mode!
Curious on how you managed to record while having the Easy Acro on since the settings do not allow that. Do you put the SD card in the HUD rather the drone?
It worked ok for me screen recording my iPhone while plugged into DJI Fly app! If it’s not showing, try updating the goggles & drone- that worked for me
I’m so torn on buying this as a gateway into FPV or going the Analog beginner to Digital custom build route. I like the idea of this because of the price and getting a “safe” FPV drone to learn and practice on then going for the products I can tinker with more. Think it’s still worth buying a DJI Avata 2 for someone who doesn’t do cinematography and wants to just fly around freestyle and experience flight? Also with the upcoming possible DJI ban?

I have been led to believe that the a2 actually doesn’t have backwards obstacle avoidance those are just visual positioning sensors Thank you for the review Any recommendations for a sim to practice on to learn manual mode with this drone?
I'm very excited to get into a manual/acro drone that I can just pay a premium for when it breaks and not have to risk buying the wrong parts or waiting to exchange DOA parts But ngl I'm taking a big risk hoping that they unlock the hardware in a reasonable amount of time. Because I do want to build my own that will work with this hardware down the line.
Long time DJI pilot ( 4+ years FAA Part 107 ) but new to FPV... Avata 2 is amazing. This is the most fun I've had flying a drone EVER. Love the way the Avata 2 moves and how easy of an entry point it was to get into FPV. I hate every time my batteries are dead and I need to recharge lol.
Hey Kai , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
So easy acro works on both controllers? I thought it was only motion. Also curious what you think of fov still see it in a rectangle with way to much black around the view in goggles. Would be nice if fov was a bit bigger
Thanks Kai, now I have to go into more debt because of your well informed content
🤣🤣 lucky for you, I have videos that will help with that too
Had the Avata 2 for a week and am blown away. Instantly flew my original DJI fpv better after flying the avata 2 a few times. Was hitting gaps more confident, ya dig.
I do dig. Much less anxiety bumping the guard off something vs shredding both the gap and the drone with props 🤣 glad you’re liking it

Mine should be getting here in 8 days. Can’t wait!
You’re gonna have a BLAST. Practice in the sim, and happy flying!

Definitely considering getting one to review with that Best Buy two-week rental 😜
That is indeed a good idea 😏 you can always give it back if you don’t like it haha

Can it emergency stop mid flight when you dive in manual mode? Thank for great reviw.

Great review bro, im in love with this drone too!
What are the limitations that I have using that controller vs the standard manual controller?

no manual mode and so you are limited in freedom

I'm waiting on my Pavo25 v2 to arrive. Do you find any issues with it carrying a go pro? Standard or naked/Bones?
I'm trying to convince my parents to get me a fpv rtf set. How can I do that? Thanks!

Really awesome video! Thanks!
You’re welcome!!
How did the proposed US ban on DJI affect your decision to buy?
Indoor fpv with 03 system ? Avata 2 has bad prop wash inside in narrow places.

I love that you love it too! Something that both beginners AND pros can get behind is not common.
The problem I have with FPV is that it's nearly impossible to tell how close you are to something. Everything seems closer than it yes.
Longest shipping wait ever lol

Hi!!!😁 First commenter! :)
Thanks for being the first!
I found the Motor stop on mine while flying manual, about 30m in the air 😂...RIP praise DJI Care
otherwise an awesome drone having way to much fun 😅

Is that thing even legal? >.>
