Hard agree! Also, in my opinion, "Foraging" villagers should drop wood too. Not just fruits and herbs. Foraging friends are nearly pointless right now. If they dropped wood, it would make them more feasable!
This is perfect! I never thought to put a lighter colored pathing under the trees! I moved my house into the Forgotten Lands to be able to get to it quicker also.

@@Probably_Senpai Yes!! I'm all about the darker aesthetic. The cabin home actually semi fits with the forgotten lands because it's such a dark area. It gives it witchy cottage vibes. I'm impatiently waiting for the next Halloween star path items because I unfortunately missed the last one.
I just fell off my stool. You’re a genius! I learned two useful things today when pinks mushrooms and large ice splinter are blocking your way across the other side. I moved my to the other side for example Forest of Valor, glade of trust and lastly Sunlit plateau. If you move the well in furniture mode to the other side you can fast travel there. I was then able to complete a couple of tasks. I had outstanding. Great video, I’m now busy destroying my trees in the following your instructions. I replaced my pine trees in valvor with high trees because those pine trees are too low causing my view to be compromised
I moved my house to make the grind quicker, but putting the path underneath is genius. Thank you, your by far, my favorite dreamlight youtuber/streamer keep up the good work 😁

Good tip for decorating with trees still for long time players, the trees from the Halloween starpath don’t count as trees for wood spawn so I use those to decorate in my forgotten land so it isn’t super bare!
I like to use the bio illuminescent trees from the Moana collection myself! I love neon lights and colors around the Forgotten Lands biome. They're featured in a few of the spots in this video. Like the halloween tree, they don't drop wood! Only trees from the landscaping menu do! A few large trees from the landscaping category (that don't drop wood) also fit in well! The giant twisted root from the Glade is a great option. I only emptied the biome of native trees as an example. As far as decor goes, there are plenty of great options! This video is mostly geared towards productivity and dark wood, so I don't go into great detail on decor options! Thanks for sharing! Just pointing out, it's imperative to remove the biomes native trees. Luckily, there are 1000s of decor options spice up the biome! 😁

Your videos are so helpful! I've changed a few of my gatherers to mining. I had them as foraging. I didn't realize how unnecessary that was. Now I'll change my Forgotten lands. I want to make the large chests to place inside my house since they don't have a way to break down the smaller chests yet. I've been frugal.
I really think they should buff foragers! I wouldn't mind having foraging companions if they duplicated wood! They'd be super helpful on darkwood, but currently, they just feel pointless! 😅 I'm glad you find the videos helpful! Cheers!

Wood farms are super handy! I used to have one in each biome! Just have the one for dark wood now! I was sitting on almost 1500 dark wood at one point, but I used a ton for fencing!

Yeah, this set up for wood farms is pretty common! Most of the helpful content in this video is centered around lesser known topics like spawn times and ratios! Encouraging players to be mindful of respawns can be a game changer. It certainly helped me horde a ton of dark wood!
Thank you for being so detailed in your video. I was wondering why my dark wood was not harvesting them I watch your video and noticed I did not space the the dark wood trees far enough
I was literally going to make a shrter version of this same video today. I have the same rate--eight dark wood/hour... but for some reason, if I stay in the biome to mine and such, a couple more will drop shortly after I pick up the original eight. I can get to ten by sticking around for about two minutes.
The Large Chest is definitely the best! I'm thinking of doing a "late game" tutorial for dreamlight speed running to help with the large chests as well!
So far your idea has been helping me, thanks again. I do have one question, how did you get the crafting materials onto a table inside your house? I like that idea but it's not working for me. I play the game on Switch.
You need to use a particular table size. I use the black dining room table. These tables are 2x8 squares. Sticks, soil, sand, and many other items require 4 entire squares for placement. If you would like a more in depth look at my storage room and how it works, feel free to come by my stream sometime! I go live with Dreamlight Valley every day except Sunday!

That's a great question! If you have at least 20 separate pieces of wood on the ground in a biome, it will prevent new wood from spawning. Now... I'm not 100% sure if that applies to wood of different types/biomes. Meaning, I'm not 100% sure that dropping 20 "softwood" in Forgotten Lands would prevent all dark wood and dry wood from spawning. But if you were to drop 20 separate pieces of dark wood/dry wood, no more wood would spawn. Keep in mind that these would have to be 20 individual pieces, not a stack of 20.
I removed all the trees, did exactly like in the video, placing pavement and leaving plenty of space between them. However, every time I log in, there are only 5 dark wood. I log into the game only once a day, and even so, there are always only 5. What am I doing wrong? Since this video is old, was there an update that changed this?
Nope! Nothing has changed with previous updates regarding dark wood. The spawn rate and amount remain the same and the information in this video still stands true! That said, I can likely help you here. The only reason you'd only get 5 dark wood spawns instead of 8 would be because you still have 3 pieces of dark wood laying somewhere in your Forgotten Lands. Since you have 3 elsewhere in the biome, only 5 can spawn in the farm. Dark wood is VERY hard to see/find in the Forgotten Lands. The grass is dark purple, and the lighting isn't great. You'll need to comb through the biome VERY carefully to pick up the 3 wood you're missing. Alternatively, if you have the Rift in Time DLC, you could use a level 3 ancient vacuum to easily pick up all the wood in the biome. This will ensure the wood farm works properly.

Nope 😁 The tree with the pumpkin marking doesn't appear until you've started Jack's quest. You also won't need to worry about removing that tree. It doesn't drop wood.
If I delete all the trees in the Forgotten Lands, are they saved in my build inventory or are they gone for good? Should I move one of each style to a different land temporarily?
@ink.drops23 Hey there! 👋 To answer your question, no the trees will not be gone! You can access an unlimited amount of trees from any biome via your furniture menu! Just scroll down to "landscaping" and select trees. This also works with bushes and rocks. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Yeah, if only 2 woods spawned in on your darkwood farm, that means there are still 6 pieces of wood you haven't found or picked up yet somewhere in the biome! If 8 or more darkwood are on the ground in the Forgotten Lands, no more will spawn... Since 2 spawned, that means 6 more exist somewhere within the biome. Keep in mind it's *very* hard to spot sometimes because the wood is black and the grass is a dark purple. If you have the Eternity Isle DLC you can use a level 3 ancient vacuum to pick up the wood you can't find... If not, you'll have to carefully go through the entire biome over and over until you find every last piece. Cheers!

Haha, I have this same delima! I usually store excess holiday items for the next season! (I had the same issue with halloween candy and xmas wrapping paper) You can either store it or sell it. I'd recommend holding onto it AT LEAST until the end of the event just in case we find another use for the eggs before the event ends! (Not likely, but better safe than sorry!)
Hey Blue! This is covered in the video! Spawn rate never changes! You will ALWAYS get 12 dry wood and 8 dark wood! 06:33 The secret to getting more wood is understanding how often it spawns and revesting the wood farm at precisely the right time! Collecting your wood restarts the spawning process. But yeah, you're right. Nothing "ups" the spawn rate! All the facts are here in the video! Cheers!
Never once have I had wood appear at my Pumpkin House, so I'm not sure what you mean. All 20 wood drops (the maximum) show up in my wood farm 100% of the time... 750 hours into the game, and wood has never spawned on the house? Can you explain? Also, for clarity, I'm on PC. Maybe there's an issue with wood spawning on whatever platform you play on? What platform are you on?
15 softwood for the Plaza and Meadow. All other major biomes produce 20. The Plaza and Meadow are exceptions because they're starting biomes. (You have bith unlocked at games start)

I made my dark wood farm I never removed all try’s out of a biome before it was weird but I havnt done anything that place so it’s ok lol

The tree with the pumpkin marking doesn't appear until you've started Jack's quest. You also won't need to worry about removing that tree. It doesn't drop wood.
If I delete all the trees in the Forgotten Lands, are they saved in my build inventory or are they gone for good? Should I move one of each style to a different land temporarily?

To answer your question, no the trees will not be gone! You can access an unlimited amount of trees from any biome via your furniture menu! Just scroll down to "landscaping" and select trees. This also works with bushes and rocks. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Yeah, if only 2 woods spawned in on your darkwood farm, that means there are still 6 pieces of wood you haven't found or picked up yet somewhere in the biome!
If 8 or more darkwood are on the ground in the Forgotten Lands, no more will spawn... Since 2 spawned, that means 6 more exist somewhere within the biome.
Keep in mind it's *very* hard to spot sometimes because the wood is black and the grass is a dark purple. If you have the Eternity Isle DLC you can use a level 3 ancient vacuum to pick up the wood you can't find...
If not, you'll have to carefully go through the entire biome over and over until you find every last piece.

Haha, I have this same delima! I usually store excess holiday items for the next season! (I had the same issue with halloween candy and xmas wrapping paper)
You can either store it or sell it. I'd recommend holding onto it AT LEAST until the end of the event just in case we find another use for the eggs before the event ends! (Not likely, but better safe than sorry!)

I have about 12 white wood on the ground by my farm so only dark spawns. Unfortunately it won’t up the dark spawn rate
Hey Blue! This is covered in the video! Spawn rate never changes! You will ALWAYS get 12 dry wood and 8 dark wood! 06:33 The secret to getting more wood is understanding how often it spawns and revesting the wood farm at precisely the right time! Collecting your wood restarts the spawning process.
But yeah, you're right. Nothing "ups" the spawn rate! All the facts are here in the video! Cheers!

Never once have I had wood appear at my Pumpkin House, so I'm not sure what you mean. All 20 wood drops (the maximum) show up in my wood farm 100% of the time...
750 hours into the game, and wood has never spawned on the house? Can you explain?
Also, for clarity, I'm on PC. Maybe there's an issue with wood spawning on whatever platform you play on? What platform are you on?
How much wood wil the trees give in the plaza and the meadow? I have only 15 in each of them. Removed all other trees, just 4 plaza trees.
15 softwood for the Plaza and Meadow. All other major biomes produce 20. The Plaza and Meadow are exceptions because they're starting biomes. (You have bith unlocked at games start)
