Thanks for sharing this. Good reminder to go fishing whenever you can and wherever you are.

Nice video! My family and I stay in San Diego twice a year (summer and winter) and I always get out and fly fish Mission Bay from the shore for spotted bay bass (I caught a tiny calico once) and halibut. I love the diverse array of species you can catch out there. I even hooked a bonito once and it almost spooled me.

That sounds awesome! I've heard MB can be great. I'm going to have to give it a try sometime--that's for reminding me!

Could you show us where to find good sized crappie within a few hours drive from the Bay Area? We saw FishnMore catch some from icefishing in MN and now I'm craving crappie 😂

I think Clear Lake is a good spot for crappie

@@flyguy2021Thank you for the tip! May I know which month of the year will be the most productive, and the recommended lures / flies to try out?

@@Christinchong I wish I had some firsthand knowledge. This is mostly from reports I’ve heard from others. I think April, May, June is probably prime time.

@@flyguy2021we've observe the same from reports too. Maybe it means we need to get out there to verify, hahaha!

So....I can't really because I don't know! I'v never fished for them. My best guess is that the Delta is a likely option and probably the best one, but I've heard they live in reservoirs like out at Lafayette (a great place to catch little bluegill, which are always happy to take a little fly) or Lake Chabot. Sorry I can't be more help!

Not sure if you're talking about me or the guide, but if the guide...that guy is a total pro. He absolutely knows what he is doing. Look him up Vaughn Podmore, Salty Fly. If me, it's true, I know nothing about bass, but I assume Vaughn would have corrected me. I don't always succeed, but I really do try to take care of the fish.
