I KNOW The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith aren't original! But it's most original trilogy, and I didn't want the title too long. Watch the Force Awakens video: ruclips.net/video/e32tZ6RGzcw/видео.html
dimitreze like dear Yoda in the force, i stopped at 4:36 haven't see the new movie and already see so much that it has fallen to this bullshite of a world... the woman is smiling as she talk's to her troop, something that Mon Mothma would naver do. not out of lack of joy but out of respect for the ones in battle... and the shot by shot hurts so much... It's bad enough that John Williams can make an original ballot to save his life but copying and pasting every scene like this is sad. when George Lucas made the original trilogy, he was under budget nor was he skilled and yet made three movie's (wirh some help) that changed the world. now as I get older i feel lost, without hope for this bantha doo doo.... I'm so happy I didn't waste money on this.
Darin Staley because my little brother told me everything about it, he read it on some screen play website and asked if i was going to watch it. I said im not wasting my money on these films and then he told me everything that happen but now seeing it side by side just makes me think why? with all the Disney moneys and all the know how of every nerd out there why make a film that feels like an omage to the originals? at lest the prequels try'd something new, rather than making something that looks and feels like a newer Empire Strikes Back.
No jokes before or after will make me laugh as hard as hearing "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick" and then seeing Kylo Ren's serious face as he spins
As opposed to any other Star Wars movie you mean? Lucas took inspiration and paid tribute to loads of previous work before it was even an issue. Akira Kurosawa, Flash Gordon, Ben Hur, etc...
Its looks so real (Tlj) that our minds think automatically, "oh! That's not real. That doesn't really exist. Or its just special effects. Its basically a mind fuck. Idk if i explained that well.
Not really, at least not how they looked before the special editions. Some of the effects still look very good, such as the battle on Hoth, but others, like a lot of ships moving in space in Empire Strikes Back, look distractingly poor because you can see by their different colorations that they were filmed in front of blue- and greenscreens. Cleaning that up was one of the few upsides of the special editions.
The emperor is a great example of less is more. He has such a presence and you can just feel him oozing with evil power. Despite him looking old and frail, he just feels like he's the one with the advantage all the way through. With that said, Snoke's scenes ain't bad. Instead of going subtle, he goes all out, bragging and basking in his own power and superiority. Rather than seducing Rey with the powers of the dark side, he wants to break her, both figuratively and literally. Also, that weird Hugh Hefner-styled bathrobe and throneroom-like chamber was just creepy, like entering the den of Mason Verger if he was a space pope.
It reminds me the seventh season of Game of Thrones: multiple quotes and copy paste dialogues taken from other seasons and books, to make it looks "original, intelligent and nostalgic". That's the effect of being an new writer that has the due of continuing the story of someone else who is actually the author, but, you have no enought imagination to make something new, so, you write your own headcanon-fanfiction creazy version supporting your scenes in previous original ones. Good job...
Just look at the throne room scene which was almost a beat of beat copy from RotJ, but honestly I'm not going to write you an essay of all the things TLJ copied from the pervious films just watch the video or go back and watch the movies and make your mind up for your self and in regards to GL the prequels shared similar patterns to the originals, but were vastly different. The sequels copy the originals almost to a T.
Now you cheery picking things that's why I said almost beat to beat copy watch the video, any way if you like the movie that's fine you have your opinion and I have mine now peace out!
The “what the...?” moment. In A New Hope, when they arrive to Alderaan and see the planet is destroid, Han Solo sais it. In The Last Jedi, Poe sais it while he is speeding and breaks his throttle in the battle of Crait. Great video guys!! Very deep!!
A lot of these "comparisons" are kind of a stretch. To these people saying shit like "thank god for this, it's totally plagiarizing" just want an excuse to complain because a lot of these scenes are just stretches and barely similar. Like how dare they have ships flying through space! Or how dare they have an apprentice talk to their master, totally the same and not different context
13th Evergreen I’m not a true fan because I see how all these comparisons are stretches and I dot harass a director over a movie? Shame, I guess I can’t be a fan since I’m not an asshole
Nothing brave about it that is simple Star Wars storytelling. The Last Jedi is packed full of the prequels imagery and music based on JW's own previous work. Rey and Kylo Ren are in essence Anakin split into two people with Rey also Padme (though nowhere near as developed as she was in the PT).
I still think that Anakin marching into the Jedi Temple would have been a great way to end Episode 2 if the prequels were told differently. Ep. 1 could have shown him and Obi-wan already as master and apprentice and also friends. Ep. 2 could show his fall. And Ep. 3 could show the hunt for the remaining Jedi and the duel with Obi-wan. But the march into the temple would have been an awesome and dark cliffhanger and you don't have to show Anakin about to kill younglings.
That is a very cool scene. But if it were used as a cliffhanger, it would have been a great way to have a middle act end dark and Ep. 3 could have skipped ahead a little knowing that everyone in the Jedi temple were killed including the younglings without showing him about to do it.
Im super super happy that rian johnson made the last jedi such a modge podge of all the original trilogy elements. Because it forces Disney and JJ Abrahams to start coming up with new material
if you look at the comments on my Force Awakens video, people were saying the same thing "Force Awakens has to feel familiar, the next one will be brand new" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
dimitreze yes that's true but TFA was mostly only a new hope, whereas TLJ was a mixture of elements from all films. Which kind of means that he used up a lot of the story elements from Return of Jedi that might have been reused for episode 9. So i think episode 9 will be somewhat more original and different than the prior 2. I think its intention should be to be a finale to the skywalker saga, and a way to completely open the star wars universe to any stories or characters they come up with
This is the exact definition of the “can I copy your homework “ meme. When I watched this movie I saw a few similarities to the other the Star Wars movies but watching this made me realize that my nostalgia blinded me 😭😭. JJ please fix this train wreck. If episode 9 has to be in 2 parts so be it. Rian Johnson, my disappointment in your choice of direction for Last Jedi can’t be overstated.
Pokemario Fan it's laughable that they keep using the old movie's rather than making it different. for the most part it's the same thing even the new storytelling isn't what i could have been. It's a copy of a film that defined a new type of syfy and should have kept that going.
13th Evergreen Im confused. Are you saying it should have been more like the originals, or less? Also, most self respecting people call it 'sci-fi' not 'syfy'
13th Evergreen Watch a video called Star Wars Poetry. Even the prequels are copies of the originals and that was the point! Lucas wanted them all to rhyme.
Sith Master the best is Empire Strikes Back then A New Hope and Return of the Jedi but if you cut the prequels up (cutting out most of the dialogue/any gungan scene) you get one ok movie lol but these new ones are just a sad attempt at some shite fan theory. if making yourself a ghost to fight someone far away is a thing why now, why not in the prequels when jedi's were at there Peak of Jedi wisdom? why didn't yoda do it when luke left dagobah? the grand master of jedi's couldn't do it, why luke...? those movie's are shite just like the prequels, why doesn't Vader fight luke with awesome flips and fast attacks? maybe because George Lucas was looking for some money's from a new audience, fucking over so many fans. but i will still watch some of those money grabbing shite films over the new half ass films that have the same plot as the last 6 movie's lol
ya know... if theres one thing lucas did well its the parallels, he didn't hit u in the face with hey remember this! copy and past is not the same thing.
In my opinion, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) are both so many times way better than both Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017).
Okay 1 or 2 scenes are almost the same which isnt good, I agree But other scenes you shown are 100% acceptable small inspirations which doesnt ruin the movie
You forgot the connection between Kylo and Rey, wich isso a clearly visual reference to Ana specific scene in Revenge of the Sith. There is Aldo the scene before the destruction of the light saber.
This movie really is a love story to the original trilogy and a good movie in its own respect. All the "true star wars fans" out there who don't like the movie bc the plot doesn't follow their head canon need to get over it and appreciate the movie for what it is and not hate it for what it's not. I like the channels that analyze trailers and come up with theories for movies but unfortunately those videos ruined TLJ for many fans because they took those videos more seriously than the actual movie. Do I think the movie was perfect? Of course not, hyperspace combat and killing ackbar were two mistakes I thought Rian and his crew made but I'm not letting that ruin the movie for me. People hate on the canto bight part but without it poe and finn wouldn't have character arcs. "The greatest teacher, failure is" and Finn and Poe's plan to stop the FO was a failure and helped their character arcs. Rey grew up on a very force sensitive planet, potentially near the emperors observatory so she doesn't need force sensitive parents to be as powerful as Kylo.

dimitreze How’d you get the footage?
Awesome edit. Thanks for not adding kanto bite! :D
No jokes before or after will make me laugh as hard as hearing "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick" and then seeing Kylo Ren's serious face as he spins
Some of these were only slightly similar, others matched perfectly.
Also TLJ has a lot of similar imagery, but TFA has a lot of similar plot
The Last Jedi is basically Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi in one movie. The only difference is the characters.
14:35 That 'I know' sync though.
6:52 Darth Vader blocking shots with his ✋🤚. No lightsaber needed. A complete badass.
3:15 I died.
(Great video btw)
thanks :)
Spinning: still a good trick.
People "Ha ! When the VII is like the IV people complain, but the VIII is so original and still people complain." Yeah... SO original...
I was hoping someone would make this, Thank you!
you welcome ☺
No one can deny the similarities any more.
WorldClassBullshitters
Hey, I didn’t thought that you would be here.
WorldClassBullshitters it's like poetry. It rhymes
Similarities are one thing, completely ripping off previous work off is another.
As opposed to any other Star Wars movie you mean? Lucas took inspiration and paid tribute to loads of previous work before it was even an issue. Akira Kurosawa, Flash Gordon, Ben Hur, etc...
They're set in the same universe. It's kind of unavoidable.
The originals still mostly look better, despite their age.
Nonamearisto the new ones are too shiny
I disagree, I think TLJ is the best looking SW film to date
Its looks so real (Tlj) that our minds think automatically, "oh! That's not real. That doesn't really exist. Or its just special effects. Its basically a mind fuck. Idk if i explained that well.
isaac rodriguez it's the equivalent of Cyborg's cgi in Justice League
it just feels off and doesn't look like it belongs
Not really, at least not how they looked before the special editions. The way Luke says “Hey that’s my dinner” syncing with that facial expression after he drinks the milk 😂🤣
4:42
The last jedi: The force is NOT a POWER
A new hope: The force is what gives the jedi it’s POWER
Times have changes😂
I laughed at this line
So much similarities and when the throne room happen I was thinking back to ROTJ
Rey: I’m going to do the exact same thing from the original trilogy
Kylo Ren: I want a full reboot of the sequel trilogy
And people say we hated this movie because it was "bold" and "different"😂
Snokes Chamber Theme or Emperor Palpatine's Chamber Theme? Which one do you guys like better? I personally like the Emperor's
+Emperor Palpatine Unlimited Power! Everyone does.
Emperor Palpatine Unlimited Power! Emperors
You do mean the music right?
+Brandon Smith Then there must be something wrong with you...
This is such a cool video good job
thank you! :)
You forgot "I have failed, Ben", reference to Revenge of the Sith!
It's like poetry it rhymes
I'm sorry, but this has nothing to do with poetry anymore they are literally copying scenes from the OT almost word for word.
Charline Thom and yet people complained when the movie didnt do exactly what they expected

THE LAST JEDI RHYMES WITH THE LAST PIECE OF SHIT ! Well actually it does not rhyme, but it sounds pretty damn good !
7:26 DAMN!!! Exact same line and same time!
I laughed at Poe/Rey - Han/Leia parallel
Siray me too
this is disney's way to show everyone there is a new relationship
It sounded like:
Poe: I'm Poe.
ORIGIONAL TRILOGY CUTS IN ON TIME
Leia: I LOVE YOU!
XD
fue solo un saludo:/ que sí o sí se tenian que dar.
The “what the...?” moment. In A New Hope, when they arrive to Alderaan and see the planet is destroid, Han Solo sais it. In The Last Jedi, Poe sais it while he is speeding and breaks his throttle in the battle of Crait.
Great video guys!! Very deep!!
oh, I missed that one
thanks! ☺
Nice can you upload comparisons scenes of The Rise Of Skywalker to other Star Wars Scenes?
He's not making videos anymore. Wish he was though.
Wow disney ripped off another star wars movie!
Brandon Smith really? None of them?
U didn’t even see TLJ, did u? The movie makes u think it’s going to go one way, only to go 180
IP Films i saw it.
Brandon Smith yeah no. Most of these scenes are pretty much exactly the same
IP Films that’s called good storytelling. A movie is boring if you know what’s going to happen before it even does
A lot of these "comparisons" are kind of a stretch. To these people saying shit like "thank god for this, it's totally plagiarizing" just want an excuse to complain because a lot of these scenes are just stretches and barely similar. Cane Naah I said plagiarism as a joke :)
Nicholas Chen ah, then my comment is directed to the others then
Cane lol not a true fan
13th Evergreen I’m not a true fan because I see how all these comparisons are stretches and I dot harass a director over a movie? Shame, I guess I can’t be a fan since I’m not an asshole
Cane None of these are stretching it.
I'll try spinning. Thats a good trick!
7:24-10:14 is my best favorite comparison between The Last Jedi and Return of the Jedi. Especially the comparisons of Palpatine and Snoke.
Grand Moff Gideon and the Hux family used Project Necromancer to create Snoke
Excellent work
thanks! ☺
Awsome dude, weeks looking for this.
thanks! :)
3:14-3:35 Anakin & Kylo Ren 🚀hilarious
3:36-3:52 A family reunion (my favorite part) Thank you 😏
14:01 Beautiful
It's like poetry, so they rhyme, each stands rhymes with the last one, hopefully it will work
Props to Rian Johnson for being brave enough to throw in prequel throwbacks, and nicely too.
Yeah and that's good, he could have easily avoided anything prequel related like the plague if he wanted to.
ariesroc not really, cant compare trash to perfection
Though to be fair, J.J. referenced them at least twice.
But the march into the temple would have been an awesome and dark cliffhanger and you don't have to show Anakin about to kill younglings.
somarriba333 i think that would be cool
somarriba333 it was amazing the way they did it. Maybe a mid prequel of the clone wars would be all that j would change
That is a very cool scene. But if it were used as a cliffhanger, it would have been a great way to have a middle act end dark and Ep. 3 could have skipped ahead a little knowing that everyone in the Jedi temple were killed including the younglings without showing him about to do it.
When Kylo Kylo stopped Poe' s blast, that reminded me of when Han shot at Darth Vader and stopped the bolt.
I’ll take Empire anyway
DesertMav 76 First Order for me
i really enjoyed this, i hope you will do Solo A star wars story comparisons when the movie clips are available
I think I will ;)
And people say The Force Awakens rips stuff off of the originals
The phasma/fett comparison was rich
General Hux is Bill Weasly from Harry Potter *dumdumduuum*
Perfect, The Empire Strikes back similarity to re-imagine the scene.
Im super super happy that rian johnson made the last jedi such a modge podge of all the original trilogy elements. Because it forces Disney and JJ Abrahams to start coming up with new material

nope, Force Awakens had elements from all the 3 movies from the original trilogy too
Agreed
Nah, JJ will just do a rehash of Phantom Menace now (just a joke)
5:05 is so emotional 😭
Excellent. That's why The Last Jedi is one my favorite episodes. I don't understand the backlash.
This is the exact definition of the “can I copy your homework “ meme. When I watched this movie I saw a few similarities to the other the Star Wars movies but watching this made me realize that my nostalgia blinded me 😭😭. JJ please fix this train wreck. Finally someone showing how much it was the same
0:05 LMFAO
We made a movie that is a different take on an old movie because we have money and no imagination of are own.
And this is proven by...
A ship taking off while people move around?
Pokemario Fan it's laughable that they keep using the old movie's rather than making it different. for the most part it's the same thing even the new storytelling isn't what i could have been. It's a copy of a film that defined a new type of syfy and should have kept that going.

Pokemario Fan less and thanks for the tip troll
13th Evergreen Watch a video called Star Wars Poetry. Even the prequels are copies of the originals and that was the point! Lucas wanted them all to rhyme.
I just realized that Kylo’s hair sort of resembles Darth Vader’s Back part of his mask
Because they are the same
His hair is like episode III Anakin
Have you done a version for TROS please?
Will you be doing a similar vid for TROS please? 🙏
He's not making videos anymore.
You know I would love to see obi wan as a ghost in the movies again
3:14=I knew you were gonna mention that! :P
Who cares, both scenes were excellent.
Sith Master these new films make me love the prequels lol
Stop whining.
13th Evergreen Prequels are OK. The best movie in the franchise is a prequel.
Sith Master lol
Sith Master the best is Empire Strikes Back then A New Hope and Return of the Jedi but if you cut the prequels up (cutting out most of the dialogue/any gungan scene) you get one ok movie lol but these new ones are just a sad attempt at some shite fan theory. if making yourself a ghost to fight someone far away is a thing why now, why not in the prequels when jedi's were at there Peak of Jedi wisdom? why didn't yoda do it when luke left dagobah? the grand master of jedi's couldn't do it, why luke...? those movie's are shite just like the prequels, why doesn't Vader fight luke with awesome flips and fast attacks? maybe because George Lucas was looking for some money's from a new audience, fucking over so many fans. but i will still watch some of those money grabbing shite films over the new half ass films that have the same plot as the last 6 movie's lol
ya know... if theres one thing lucas did well its the parallels, he didn't hit u in the face with hey remember this! copy and past is not the same thing.
this is super smart Nice idea!!!
Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are not in the Original Trilogy
10:40 see the difference one gave me goose bumps the other made me cringe
In my opinion, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) are both so many times way better than both Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017).
I'll try spinning! That's a good trick!
Where's the juxtaposition of the fake spaceship ironing landing scene and that 5 minute scene of Han combing Chewie for nits?
This makes me want to cry
One of these films went down as one of the greatest movies of all time and the other killed the franchise...
*"CTRL + C -> CTRL + V"*
_...but with the files corrupted._
Lol kylo is young anakin
Elio Ikhsan Two SPIN IS A GOOD TRICK
but Anakin turn's into Vader, kylo isn't Vader nor will be...
Like father like grandson
My kid is my son anaikn Riley Skywalker
Okay 1 or 2 scenes are almost the same which isnt good, I agree
But other scenes you shown are 100% acceptable small inspirations which doesnt ruin the movie
Since when is the phantom menace OT?
I didn't think it was worst to name the prequels just because 2 short clips. ;)
Many of these are references, intended to be recognized by the audience.
holy santa claus shit i love star wars
The word "poaching" comes to mind.
Just watching a few snippets of The Last Jedi still manages to piss me off as to how bad this film was.
I like the both movie but they never leave behind references
7:19 - One thing is true - the explosions in the original trilogy were much more realistic (& not just yellow).
3:15 I will try spinning, that is a good trick XDD
That sync just killed me
Kylo Ren doesn't like this
You forgot the connection between Kylo and Rey, wich isso a clearly visual reference to Ana specific scene in Revenge of the Sith. There is Aldo the scene before the destruction of the light saber.
If this video says anything, it's that John Williams will never top the OT OSTs.
Very cool
Good job
thanks ☺
The sequels are a rip off of the originals but worse.
Yeah, TLJ won't be able to pass a uni plagiarism test.
Nicholas Chen Agreed
It's about symbolism. Sort of re-newing the story, a telling of a new generation of Jedis.
HolandaChiquita Or maybe a Muppet Babies version of Star Wars .
I thought the whole reason people hated TLJ was because it was too different
You're right. And history would back on this as a flawed piece of work.
This movie really is a love story to the original trilogy and a good movie in its own respect. All the "true star wars fans" out there who don't like the movie bc the plot doesn't follow their head canon need to get over it and appreciate the movie for what it is and not hate it for what it's not. John Goodwin See you understand!! I agree with u!
Shut the fuck up, stupid. You don't know shit.
Why tf is it an actual copy
Most impressive
Can you do a scene comparison in Ray (2004)?
ruclips.net/video/7kTYKakQJM0/видео.html
Dooku told Obi-Wan to join him.
Vader told Luke to join him.
Ben told Rey to join him.
Also the phantom menace isn't original trilogy
ctrl + c, ctrl + v
lol u missed the whole slow chase comparison asteroid field.
Ironic they try making it diffrent and still end up having copied originals.
0:15 ugh I can't believe the showed spaceships
So Rey doesn’t have parents? Or they’re dead.
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Given all these similarities, one would think TLJ would have been an amazing movie! But alas..........
How did you get this?
Are you gonna answer me?
Why aren’t you answering?
When are you available to talk?
Please say something if you can.
Anything?
The sacred Jedi text!
A certain point of view?
Using scenes out of Adywans Revisited edition i see
