  • We put some hand painted lettering on this rat rod. No computer layout, tape, or stencils. Just pencil, ruler, brushes, and sign painters enamel. Distressed look created by adding clear to the paint, and wiping back through the lettering gently with lacquer thinner. Enjoy.

Is this painted with the Alphanamel paints? Was curious about the faded ivory dry brush effect, and if this was Alphanamel paints used

I believe the Ivory on this was Alpha, and maybe the red as well. I did use 1shot black though if I remember correctly. I go back and forth between brands. As for the brush effect, it actually isn't a whole lot of dry brush but instead is the Alphanamel mixed with Alpha's clear to dilute how much pigment is in what is loaded on the brush.
