- This video shares my Thursday June 1, 2023 dogsledding experience in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada. While visiting this city on business, I extended my trip by a few days to explore everything that Iqaluit had to offer. I made arrangements with a local tour company to go on an evening of dogsledding.
During the late spring, there isn't enough snow for this activity on land, so instead they use the ice on Frobisher Bay. So I met up with the group at the Causeway Dock, across from Iqaluit, and from there we headed out and did a loop around Mair Island. Our total distance was about 18km and the dogs averaged a speed of 11.2km/hr.
In this video I have done my best to share the video highlights from the excursion, while presenting the information I've learned from the experience.
I filmed this using my GoPro HERO 9 Black action camera and Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone.
I hope you enjoyed this video. Please COMMENT and subscribe!

So cool.
What a fun little adventure! So cool that you got to experience dogsledding while you were there!
Very cool… Nice to see you back.
What a great and unique experience! Thanks for sharing the video.
Thank you for the adventure, CJ. It was my first time on a (virtual) dogsled. The background information made it enjoyable.
Great video CJ always love iour commentary. Very informative.
Cool adventure!
Great Video CJ. Interesting!
😍😍😍🎥
Looks like you had a great time there.
found my way to this channel looking for some guitar pick up trouble shooting stuff. But found so much more! lol
Very interesting how they rig the dogs up there! I have a puppy that's half Nunavut husky, she has more energy than I've ever seen, even more than my Saskatchewan husky. I'm hoping one day with enough training she can go bikepacking at up to 70 km per day.
Hi! I'll be going to iqaluit mid-June. What is this tour company, and do you think it's possible to go on a similar tour mid/late June?
It's Kool Runnings. Correct?
