    I have fond memories of Fur Rendezvous, but my most vivid memory is the Ferris Wheel ( in February of all times). The outhouse race isn’t ringing a bell, but it was Cool😎 to be there. You just have to experience it. Well done AWTY! The sled dog races are impressive. Some people think it’s unfair, but these dogs love to run! I believe they convert oxygen into their blood 10 times (correct me if I don’t have the exact factor) faster than we humans do. We in Cleveland, Ohio are fortunate to have the stuffed remains of the Great Balto on display at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History to honor his unbelievable feat.

      So happy you enjoyed the video and it sparked the reliving a few memories! Yes, it is odd to see a Ferris wheel 🎡 in winter like that- we thought so too!

    My wife, Amanda, and I love to travel. I lived in Alaska from 1975 until 2003 and have traveled throughout the Yukon, British Columbia, and Alberta many times and many more great places. We love watching RUclips videos of different people’s experiences of places we’ve been and places we plan to go. We’ve also hiked many kilometers on the Israel National Trail and enjoy watching other people’s experiences. We are pretty critical of some folk’s videos that choose horrible music or their music is so loud that you can’t hear nor understand their narration or they don’t know how to adjust their recording level and end up with their voices over-modulating….or there is no narration at all! We are so happy to have found “Art We There Yet”. You two have amazingly picturesque photos and video, great narration, wonderful music, and all at the right volume without over-modulation, one of my pet peeves. You’re the best we’ve ever witnessed. Keep up the great video production and we look forward to seeing more.

It's amazing the power of some words of encouragement. Thank you for appreciating our work and the time we put in to make our videos as quality as we can (with the time we have!). What a beautiful episode of winter games :)
    I cant tell we have something similar here in winter times. We are more used to quiet events, walking around a christmas market, drinking hot drinks, eating together afterwards.
    What I can tell, is that we have had a similar blanket tossing game in my childhood during school times. A blanket with about 15 feet diameter, a ball in the middle which was tossed in the air, but the blanket was much more light, so the center of the blanket could be the highest point with about 5 feet hight, so the movement from the people with the blanket needed to be fast to raise the edges before the ball came to close.

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  Год назад +1

      So happy you enjoyed the video, Christian! And wow - what an interesting game you played as a child! We had a similar one in Wisconsin - just a large blanket with a ball and the goal was to keep the ball bouncing on the blanket but not to lose it over the side!

    I also recently found your channel, great videos. Growing up in Alaska (and driving the Alcan) they brought back a lot of found memories. I hope to visit there again one day.
    I really hope you can get to other parts of Alaska as well, including Denali Park, Fairbanks and Prudhoe Bay.
