I must applaud u for having your first driving experience in Penang! Penang is known as the scariest place to drive in whole Malaysia. If u survive Penang, u can survive driving anywhere in Malaysia.
I agree, Penang roads are narrower and drivers tend to drive very closely because of this. You passed to drive in KL or other places in Malaysia now. Good job 👍

As a Malaysian, when I drove in Japan on holiday, it was such a breeze. All drivers are so considerate, there are very few motorcycles and road signages are very clear. I can imagine your stress driving in Penang, which is the polar opposite of Japan! 🤣
Jimmy and I Chang, great to have you back in Malaysia. Driving in Malaysia takes experience. The more you drive, the more expert you become. However, driving in Penang is really courageous. I salute you. Roads are small and loads of car.
If you can't differentiate between chaotic driving and 'expert' driving, no wonder this country is fcked. This is not something to brag about especially to Japanese people. Even for me, Penang and KL are the most disasterous places to drive. Lots of uncivilized drivers
Driving in Penang or among Penang drivers are scary not because of the busy or narrow roads but because of their drivers who don't care about other people at all. So kudos to you for having your first Malaysian driving experience in Penang. I hope your experience will be better and better.
Give urself a round of applause! Penang is cosidered a EXTREME Level when it comes to driving! Even those from KL/Selangor always find it scary to drive there! Great job!
Well common ,it happen in alot video, when being ask Who are the worst driver in Malaysia.(by state)? Then they give excuse like " because their driver is high skill, only people with high driving skill can drive in penang " for me is like majority that is not call "gooddriving skill", that is call irresponsible driving attitude that don't follow driving laws.
I was watching this video with my husband as we were resting on a Sunday afternoon. It was so funny to see my husband trying to press the brake on the bed (I guess a reflex of some drivers) when he saw the part Jimmy was going quite fast and there were cars and motorbikes zipping and crisscrossing in front of your car! Any how congratulations to Jimmy for making it through the traffic and that both of you arrived safely at Mekdi drive thru!
You guys really fun and hilarious 😂 I’m so glad after made it . A piece of advice when driving in Malaysia just follow the rules especially when you’re supposed to give a signal. Once you start the engine ensure your camera is ON front and back and be confident you’ll be fine 😊
Now you can survive driving anywhere in Malaysia. No where else is like Penang driving experience. This was so much fun to watch as you both make noise at everything that tries to overtake or speed infront of you. This is brilliant and its only a trip to McD drive thru, come one Jimmy and IChang, i want to see more fun experiences. Let’s goooooo ❤
Your first experience driving in Malaysia was Penang?? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That's a big applause and big achievement in your life. It's the place of the hardest level of driving in Malaysia and you passed 😂👏🏼👏🏼. So next level KL,Shah Alam, Klang and I am from Taiping, Perak just next to Penang. You are welcome to Taman Tasik Taiping and I am a Grab Driver. Please let me be your tour guide if you come to my place. Taiping and Penang are not so much different in terms of traffic, so I think you can maybe drive my car or I drive you to any place you want here. I will always be ready when you are in Taiping with love ✌🏼
That’s child’s play. Have you been to Puchong? There’s many junctions, interceptions of small and main roads, with a lot of trucks, all driving in at least 70km/h.
This is the funniest video of this channel yet. Love the edits with so many familiar sound effects of video games I used to play. I laughed so much, thank you ichang and Jimmy. So this is how foreigners feel when driving in Malaysia LOL. A tip is, driving fast or slow, try drive at a steady speed and don't suddenly speed up or brake hard to slow down. Because as you see cars and motorcycles cut you all the time(motorcycles especially) so if someone suddenly brake or speed, thats where most problem comes. But if you have no choice like the car suddenly reversing out, then there is no choice. Haha. Good luck and be steady, be cool and be happy
I was laughing when I saw you driving in Penang. Somehow locals have gotten so used to it but seeing in many close and chaotic situations, made me realise how crazy our local driving habits are. But unlike many third world countries, we don't use our horn every five seconds ! Well done on your mission!
One thing I love iChang channel is the way the video is edited never change since the early days. The chemistry between the two of you is always funs to watch. よくがんばったね!
Well because majority penang people car signal is "for displays purpose only " .want to change lane don't use signal, simply change lane without signal (that's why majority penang car four corner majority got sign of " clashes/or being hit" . And very impatient & lack tolerance toward others driver. Aka in Malay tidak bertolak ansur semasa memandu.
Jimmy is so funny 🤣 I like the act and the Mario music, so creative and funny! iChang is trying to cool down Jimmy because he is panic driving on the road 😄 You both are so cute ☺ I hope you both are enjoy, be steady and be happy!!!
Good job Jimmy for driving the first time in Penang. For someone who's live there, even I am stress when driving in Penang 😂. One of my mom tips is just think all the driver is crazy so you will be more focus on the road hahahha
As a Penangite, that traffic is pretty normal, and we can evade them easily haha. My mom told me that when we drive in Malaysia, you must have a good understanding on the road at all times because both cars need to do their part to avoid an accident, not just one regardless of who is wrong. Prepare your breaks and let them be, thats my solution. Enjoy Penang~
They're lucky the traffic was normal that day...imagine them driving during peak traffic hours eg. rush hours/holiday season, I generally try to avoid town area especially during long weekends but sometimes bo huat if you gotta go there for any food gathering occasion😅
I love driving in Penang. People there are super Intuitive and know when to give way or move ahead. Its like a stream of fishes swimming together. As long as you flow with the traffic, you generally will be fine.
I grew up in KL and I go up to Penang pretty often but I myself am really terrified to drive in Penang. One advise I can give you is if you drive in Penang try and keep to the middle lane because there are a lot of sudden turn offs to the left and right so keeping to the middle is a very safe bet. Also you need "bravery" 勇気 when you drive in Malaysia, just have to channel your inner Shounen MC.
.. cars come like 3D's 😂😂😂 (I laugh out loud to hear this review) . Anyway congratulations for your first try drive in Penang. I'm sure you will be much more relax for your next mission haha. Just dont forget with your signals and then, go... You should try your skills with hills on the way to Balik Pulau using both, either via Bukit Baru or Teluk Kumbar.
Sorry for the mess here😅.Penang is actually my hometown where i am right now and yes our roads are very scary.Even me when i drive i get scared so be safe the next time you come to Penang and also you should learn either Hokkien,Cantonese,Chinese or Bahasa Malaysia😂 many languages but be safe😊.
You both are a prime example of food motivated bravery 👍 I've only ever driven in Malaysia and I still feel stressed daily by the crazy road users. You both did well! If you know how to practice defensive driving (looking constantly at the rear view and side view mirrors and the other road users, and anticipating what the crazies might do), that might help. Possibly also meditating before driving 😂
I know how it feels. I love to travel overseas and go on road trips. Having a driving experience in different countries is so thrilling and so much joy at the same time.
Hi ichang n jimmy. Penang is a tough place to drive. Small roads, many motobikes and sometimes other drivers are very aggressive. Be safe. Enjoy driving in Malaysia!
yup. it is hihihi. you should have started with Kota Kinabalu(town only), or maybe Ipoh or Kota Bharu (but not at night). For driving, thare several stages: Level 1(MEX Highway on a weekend or Kota Kinabalu, Sik), Level 2 (Putrajaya, Seremban/Nilai), Level 3(Ipoh/Kota Bharu and most smaller towns), Level 4( KL/Alor Setar), Level 5 (Penang & JB) , Level 6(Cameron Tapah Road, Frasier Hill, Genting, Tasik Kenyir, most of Sarawak & some in Sabah). Level 7 is inside Penang or exiting KL during Holiday/cuti time
Driving in Penang have to mentality prepared. Road are narrower compared to others state and the drivers are quite aggressive too in Penang. I also scare driving in Penang and you made a right choice by renting an Axia . If you can survive driving in Penang, you can drive anywhere in Malaysia. Just try to hook the gps Waze on the dashboard so easily to drive.
Congratulations in driving in Malaysia and in Penang Island of all places. I also watched your video on the broken rear windshield. Your talk and interactions in the car when eating McD was quite insightful and endearing moment.
Haha I giggling throughout the whole video, not sure how you both can make such an experience so entertaining lol. I was afraid for you when the camera dropped, I thought you got knocked or something. If you need to turn out in never ending traffic, you or iChang depending on which side, can try putting your hand out to signal you want to go, they are more likely to give way. They say the power of the hand in Malaysia lol.
McDonald's may not be Malay food but if you have followed their episodes, you will know that they have enjoyed lots of local dishes, even tried making them when they were away from Malaysia !
1) Follow infront car with one or half car distance. 2) When driving in the straight line, pay more attention in front car (emergency break). 3) Before turning left or right, turn on indicator and must pay attention to motorcycles on the side that you want turn, MUST let ALL motorcycles go first (if you feel they drive fast) because motorcycles is more superior than car. Sometimes motorcycles will slow down to let car make turn. 4) Any people show their hand like stop hand to you, then you let them go first.
The way jimmy sits while driving just like someone who got his first license. Looks so nervous. Btw driving in penang for beginner is not easy. Good job for jimmy.
When you drive, you just need to be alert. Motorcycle will come from any direction and people cross the road. Don't forget to turn your blinker (signal)
Congrats!!! You both did super well!! Me,a Malaysian and an expatriate, were wondering if I can survive driving in KL when I visit soon. It’s been way to many years… Always enjoy your videos and cooking !!! Thank you for sharing your life and experience in Malaysia!
For beginner drivers, don’t drive into Georgetown. Even I avoid it if I can to avoid stress. Driving around Tg Bungah, Tg Tokong, Pulau Tikus and Gurney Drive area should give you access to anything you want. 😂
so BRAVE to have driven around in Penang. The level of difficulty is very high. A lot of surprises comes from every turn and corners. GOOD JOB Jimmy & I Chang!!!!! Mission accomplished. Happy moments with McD.
Welcome to Penang . Just focus on your front and don’t drive too fast . I mean not more than 60km per hour . So you can hit the break better if out of sudden motorcycle came in front of you .
Even I get traumatised driving in Penang. I got honked for being 'slow' (i was searching for the right road). Anyhow, salute your bravery for starting there 🤣
my tips for u jimmy, always be alert when u driving especially lookout for the motorcycle...u hve my respect for your courageous driving in malaysia...keep up the good response n attitude...love u both
Omedeto!! Bravo!! I can understand your emotions and feelings. That was tiring and nerve wrecking! You did great!! Love the editing, it's like watching a game 😂 Nice shirt Jimmy! Love the same look this couple have when both immersed in their food. Haha Gambatte!!
Hehe... great starting point, straight up to level 5 of difficulty. Keep all your six senses on when driving, you will be safe. By the way, I live in Penang. I enjoy driving at the winding road from Batu Ferringhi to Balik Pulau. very challenging and exciting one..
It very entertaining to see Jimmy having his first time driving in Penang 😂😂 me as Malaysian also feel scared to drive here because penang is one of the scariest place to drive with so many cars and busy road.. Great job to iChang and jimmy to safely arrive and get to the drive thru 😊👍
Jimmy! My South Asian driving tips: Drive smooth and don't make any quick changes. When you drive smooth the surrounding traffic can estimate free spaces to squeeze between. Also the road-lines isn't that important there, two lanes easy turn into three lanes, and always leave space for motorbikes.
@@christer8964 Malaysia is a Muslim country drunkenness is extremely rare that said there are places that serve alcohol in certain parts but not common.
Hahha... I just laughed all the way watching ur video this time! Haha.. good job jimmy driving in penang, nice baju batik! Good video as usual! I was in japan for three years.. when came back to Malaysia also I was so nervous driving. It takes time for me to adapt to Malaysian driving style!
As a penangite, u need great confidence in driving skill and also strong prediction. Cars and motorcycles here likes to change lane without signal, overtakes without much concern for others.
welcome back to Malaysia Ichang and Jimmy.. i hope one day i can hear both of you speaks malay it will be much more exciting...vey glad you guys enjoy being in Malaysia and experience the local environment
love the baju batik. And the McD akka is very kind. too bad, Malaysia doesn't have a sustainable lifestyle surrounding public transport and you have to resort to driving a car. I have big hope, with the coming election, that this aspect will be given proper scrutiny.
I am a Penangnite and I have to agree when people from other states say Penang has the worst driver. Tips for Jimmy just focus to drive on your own lane/space don't get too nervous when people are trying to cut into your space, just continue to move on carefully and look out for cars or bikes around you. As Penang people we already developed the sense of prediction when those cars and bikes are going to do next.
I watched yr video 2 times and still laughing 🤣 just by seeing Jimmy's nervousness and hearing to iChang's giggling. You're doing well. Just stay on the right lane and be cautious on any possibilities. Gud luck guys!! 😙
One tip of driving in Penang: try to observe the driving of the bad drivers (not all penangites are bad drivers) and you learn from it. If you can't beat them join them. At times you'll have to be ruthless as well but try to be a kind driver once in a while (like giving them way). Once you get the hang of it you'll be fine driving in Penang. Driving on a daily basis in Penang taught me to be more alert of my surroundings and sharpens my reflexes.
Not all penangnites are bad driver true but majority of penang driver are bad driver .plus don't rationalize bad driving as a "trend "" that's why I join in to be bad driver ".why don't simply start to be a good driver from ourselves to make penang road be a place full with responsible driver /good driver.
1:30 Naruto, old and retired. Came to Malaysia for retirement 🤣 I got to say, It's brave for u to have your first drive in Malaysia in Penang. Even us from other states are scared to drive in Penang 😉 It's like playing a new video game and straight away chose the 'Expert' level 😂 Best tip on driving in Malaysia? Drive everyday. That's it. You'll be fine. 😊
I would say, each state in msia has different way of driving. Used to drive in Penang, Johor, and Klang Valley. These 3 cities got different style and u need to adapt according the area 😂 even in klang valley i need to change my driving way eg Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Subang
You guys are so entertaining😂😂 I am laughing watching your video...the funny part is you ordered drive thru and yet you ate the food beside McDonald's 😆😆😆..love both of you😘
Driving tips on Malaysia . especially in Penang.. .1st of all . Always look at the side mirror at left and right.. or the back mirror.. for each 10s 2. Next, use signals when need to change lane or turning..
Tips that i would like to recommend to both of you when driving in Malaysia 1. Be Brave 2. Be patience 3. Must tolerate 4. Be careful It is just at the city area, you can enjoy driving when you come at village area. But most of malaysia tourist spot is like what you faced. You must be cool, but when you 'want to become malaysian people' driving a car everyday, honestly it is very stressful for us who gonna work, face traffic jam, you must need to adapt it everyday. Sometimes we had to face crazy people and not tolerate when driving but, if you are not be the one whos gonna tolerate, so who's ? This is fact of malaysia. Its okay for both of you first time driving felt nervous, chaos and others thing hahaha. it is okay. if i were you i feel the same 😂
Jimmy bro, you did great for first time driving in Malaysia. The first time I drove, my car scratched a taxi door. Keep it up, as you drive more, you get used to the vehicles on the road.
Look at the pedestrian area. If alot of foottraffic. The road line become suggestion. If no foot traffic. The lines can be trusted. If have double parking. Just use the other lane, keep the double parked lane empty, alot of surprises. Look up until 200m front back left right. Always be aware of the momentum of other road users. Bikes will do their best to not collide with you. But give them a small space to escape their momentum, they have smaller brakes. They don't do well in emergency braking situation.
This is the first video that i watch of you guys. I first watched it on Facebook when someone shared it. It is still very hilarious now when i watch it again 😄 Love all your contents so much, pls keep them coming!
I used to live in Penang for 58yrs. I drove for 32 yrs going to work everyday. Just follow the flow and make sure all side view mirrors, rear view mirror are properly aligned. You really need to be alert and focused at all times. Be very2 careful with the motorbikes. They can do stunts and make you do emergency brakes and also cause the car behind you to hit the backside of your car. I had an accident where the motorbike did a u turn just in front of me. I applied the emergency brake snd the car behind hit me on the back. Very2 distressing.
I never drove to penang yet. Took my driving licence in Ipoh. Stay in KL. My best driving was in the highway. Stay on the left. So you only have cars bypass you from right only. Share your road with motorcycles. But beware sometimes they don't give signals.
10:33 want more tip bro go in road balik pulau, easy claiming road.and back with new road balik pulau that is medium , you want hard level try Titi Kerawang Road start with Teluk Bahang end Balik Pulau...this road will teach you from zero to hero ... your heart will be stop if you try this road only in Penang

The way jimmy sits while driving just like someone who got his first license. Looks so nervous. Btw driving in penang for beginner is not easy. Good job for jimmy.
Omg..this is my favourite video of this channel yet..I laugh so much.thank you Jimmy n ichang.
Its okay jimmy.. there is always 1st time experience in our life.. if there is no 1st time, then it will never be 2nd, 3rd n so on.. congratulations..
I showed this to my wife trying to help her get used to driving in Malaysia. She loved this, also the kansai accent reminds her of home. Great video!
Too late they enter the black hole dy😂 but they survived
No for beginners change your driving habits and follow rules and lanes!
@@ja-y the thing is.. our driving habits is the one that need to be change >_
you siao eh driving in gurney drive is worse for me compare Georgetown
so BRAVE to have driven around in Penang.
Love how Ichang stared at Jimmy's burger and he got the cue that she wanted a bite... hahaha loveeee!!!!
Even I get traumatised driving in Penang. I got honked for being 'slow' (i was searching for the right road). Anyhow, salute your bravery for starting there 🤣
my tips for u jimmy, always be alert when u driving especially lookout for the motorcycle...u hve my respect for your courageous driving in malaysia...keep up the good response n attitude...love u both
Really proud of both of you. Welcome and enjoy in Penang ya🥰
😂 Interesting video . Kudos for doing so well, Jimmy & iChang 👍
Jimmy....you so funny, hahaha.. All the best to both of you...enjoy !!
Omedeto!! Bravo!! I can understand your emotions and feelings. That was tiring and nerve wrecking! You did great!!
Love the editing, it's like watching a game 😂
Nice shirt Jimmy! Love the same look this couple have when both immersed in their food. Haha
Gambatte!!
I can't stop laughing. This video gave me so much happiness 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Hehe... great starting point, straight up to level 5 of difficulty. Keep all your six senses on when driving, you will be safe. By the way, I live in Penang. I enjoy driving at the winding road from Batu Ferringhi to Balik Pulau. very challenging and exciting one..
Penang the most havoc road in Malaysia ..2nd KL or Selangor ... if you can drive in Penang you can drive anywhere ...
Jimmy! My South Asian driving tips:
Drive smooth and don't make any quick changes. When you drive smooth the surrounding traffic can estimate free spaces to squeeze between. Also the road-lines isn't that important there, two lanes easy turn into three lanes, and always leave space for motorbikes.
Ohh! One more tip. Don't drive when it is dark. So many accidents with people drunk.
@@christer8964 Malaysia is a Muslim country drunkenness is extremely rare that said there are places that serve alcohol in certain parts but not common.
@@mr3111 you gave the answer. And many Muslim countries loves drugs.
You should try the beginner road like Balik Pulau. For traffic light in Malaysia, yellow light indicates you need to drive faster before turns red.
Driving in Penang like going to war zone...need constant focus n always be alert all times...
Hahha... I just laughed all the way watching ur video this time! Haha.. good job jimmy driving in penang, nice baju batik! Good video as usual! I was in japan for three years.. when came back to Malaysia also I was so nervous driving. It takes time for me to adapt to Malaysian driving style!
always look in the side mirror when turning or normal driving...❤️❤️❤️❤️
Amazing, Jimmy..congrats!! That was gutsy..incredible manouvering on Penang streets..kudos to iChang for not screaming!!👍👍👏
As a penangite, u need great confidence in driving skill and also strong prediction. Cars and motorcycles here likes to change lane without signal, overtakes without much concern for others.
This is exactly what happening in KL too. Or are they all actually from Penang?😅😅😅
Yes, Malaysia driving is chaotic, and you need to do is be calm, steady, relax and be happy. Always look the side mirrors rear mirror every seconds !!
driving in penang is different from the other parts of Malaysia. haha
I loved it when jimmy says 'crazy malaysian' 😆😆😆
welcome back to Malaysia Ichang and Jimmy.. i hope one day i can hear both of you speaks malay it will be much more exciting...vey glad you guys enjoy being in Malaysia and experience the local environment
love the baju batik.
glad you both are ok haha. it can get pretty nasty sometimes xD
Jimmy & IChang, u 2 are so lovely, cute and funny. Enjoy ur stay here and keep going. we love ur video shared and experience.
If you at penang you must know the legend P. Ramlee. Multi talented people history.
Salute you because you are brave enough to drive in Penang. I don't have braves to drive in penang. Welcome back you two 😊
1:30 Naruto, old and retired. Came to Malaysia for retirement 🤣
I got to say, It's brave for u to have your first drive in Malaysia in Penang. Even us from other states are scared to drive in Penang 😉 It's like playing a new video game and straight away chose the 'Expert' level 😂
Best tip on driving in Malaysia? Drive everyday. That's it. You'll be fine. 😊
Different states and cities in Malaysia have different road feel. And like others have said, Penang's is one of the most challenging. 😅
I laugh so much..😆😆 you guys really made my day. Great job Jimmy n ichang👍🏻👍🏻
I would say, each state in msia has different way of driving. Used to drive in Penang, Johor, and Klang Valley. These 3 cities got different style and u need to adapt according the area 😂 even in klang valley i need to change my driving way eg Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Subang
You guys are so entertaining😂😂 I am laughing watching your video...the funny part is you ordered drive thru and yet you ate the food beside McDonald's 😆😆😆..love both of you😘
Every day, Jimmy and iChang are becoming more Malaysian. Driving in Penang is an achievement 👍 😁
It's great to see you guys back here in Malaysia.
If you can drive in Penang, you can drive anywhere in Malaysia
Effortlessly funny la u guys😂 especially part
“There’s an improvement”
“Whats the improvement?”
“Its quite the same”
The look on iChang's face. Soooo KAWAII.
Driving tips on Malaysia . especially in Penang.. .1st of all . Always look at the side mirror at left and right.. or the back mirror.. for each 10s
2. Next, use signals when need to change lane or turning..
wahhhhh ! welcome back malaysiaa ! please stay in malaysia all loveyou
Hi Jimmy. You are now certified to drive to everywhere in Malaysia. Congrats!
Tips that i would like to recommend to both of you when driving in Malaysia
1. Be Brave
2. Be patience
3. Must tolerate
4. Be careful
It is just at the city area, you can enjoy driving when you come at village area.
Its okay for both of you first time driving felt nervous, chaos and others thing hahaha. it is okay. if i were you i feel the same 😂
Loved the edit, it was so fun!
Jimmy bro, you did great for first time driving in Malaysia. The first time I drove, my car scratched a taxi door. Keep it up, as you drive more, you get used to the vehicles on the road.
True! Our visual ability is tremendously good! We point out the obvious very well, too!
Good job Jimmy !!.. finally you are now truely a Malaysian...
salute...you just hit max level driving experience for the first timer...haha..stay safe...
Takut tapi lucu 😆😆😆..aiyooo ichang & jimmy..saya ketawa dari awal video hingga akhir video pun ketawa juga 🤣😂🤣😂 sy suka sy suka 👍👍
